  1. That's funny too.
  2. That's funny.
  3. It's CBS.
  4. Zack is going bald. David Backes let's him know.
  5. I think that win last night was typical of almost any win this season. (Enroth or Miller in net) Badly out-shot, badly outdrawn, no power play goals, at least a power play goal against, good goal-tending. For me it isn't the save percentage as much as where the shots are coming from. Pens had a zillion scoring chances.
  6. and probably outshot by 10 in every one of those games
  7. I wonder if Florida really wanta Seth Jones though. It is a pretty tepid market to begin with. I wonder if a defense-man can really energize a fan-base down there.
  8. I really think if they do that top to bottom review, and ask the same people they asked the first time about "due diligence" they will come to a different conclusion. I think they pull the plug on Darcy. I think Darcy already knows it. In fact he should expect it. It should not be agonizing.
  9. I didn't think he was as bad as you did.....but he's far short of centering one of the top 2 lines, as you say.
  10. Nice post. Ennis did have one beautiful pass, but on the whole, not a star night. I don't think he got a shot off. ----well...aside from missing an open net.
  11. I was impressed with Blake Wheeler last night. He's playing faster and getting off shots. I wonder how he improved his skating. He was moving his feet all night. gives me hope for Grigo who is about the same size.
  12. There's a lot to like about Grigorenko, I just find myself wishing he had more of an extra gear skating.
  13. I always thought it was those in the pressbox with local credentials.
  14. I wasn't completely sure. I thought there was an issue with 23 games.
  15. So if Grigorenko plays his 23, 24, and 25th game........I'm still confused what this means for his contract status. Anybody know?
  16. I was using NHL.com (glancing) My point being that if there isn't a sizable sample size you end up comparing Peter Mrzak and Henrik Lundquist in the same sample. Anyhoo.......my point is who is more valuable.......a guy like Cary Price pitching .905 over 36 starts or a Marty Biron who has pitched .917 over 5 starts? Long way of saying that I really think you have to find guys with comparable minutes. That's all.
  17. consider: 10 of those players have less than 100 saves. 19 have less than half the time as Miller. There are only 12 goalies with as half as many starts as Miller, (dipping down to 18 games started to Miller's 37) that have a higher save percentage. I think that's more reflective of what a team would be getting. Only Niemi and Lundquist have put in more work than Miller with a higher save percentage.
  18. OF COURSE I'M %^(&*() DISCONCERTED!!, HOW SHOULD I FEEL WHEN THE SOUFFLE FALLS!!!
  19. (I was really referring to Drunken Idiots saying...."look it up") I've never believed goalies personalities have anything to do with anything. Yes. They are all whack jobs. Miller's personality as far as goalies go, in my opinion, is quite benign. No player has ever said Miller has thrown me under the bus. That narrative exists here, but I doubt it exists in the locker-room. Skaters and goalies are like batters and pitchers in baseball. They coexist but live quite separate lives. Pros really leave that stuff behind quite easily. They are often fast friends with the guy that punched them last week and wished a speedy death to their wife. They really do leave that stuff on the ice. They are not rattled by vagaries from goalies to reporters. I'll bring you a cigarette and a glass of champagne.
  20. Rolston must drive these reporters nuts. Except for last game, he's more soft spoken than Barefoot Contessa. Teasing copy out of Rolston would make my mind ache.
  21. The personalities of Ruff (who is gone) and Miller have become 2 separate 7 year long interpretive narratives that you've written, PA. I've always found it to be a strange, but somewhat readable, moral tragedy that you've been writing. Hockey as a moral universe. Does it get hard to kill off your characters? Miller will be gone soon enough, don't you think? We'll have your last installment soon enough I think. Be patient, friend. Fair enough. My perspective has always been that Ruff and Miller have covered up more roster flaws than they were creating. I'm prepared to see Hackett, Enroth, Leggio and whoever emerge. I'd put my money on Hackett....but I want to see value for Miller. Mostly.....I want to see a team that is strong down the middle. Not one build from the outside in.
  22. You might be able to get through a season of poker playing it that way until you decide which one is Mika Norrenen, And who emerges. Does Hackett have to clear waivers next year?
