  1. Add me to that list. Glad to see him rewarded with the goal at the end.
  2. After re-watching the fight during the intermission I can't accurately express how excited I am to see Staff step up and hang in there when Hartnell started throwing bombs. It wasn't a token wrestling "don't kick my ass too bad" fight, but he hung in there and did what he could. Good sign for him.
  3. I got no issues with her teeth or any other part of her. She is very easy on the eyes.
  4. Luongo's email hacked: http://www.thewhistle.com/fls/27500/iframes/Luongogmail2.jpg?DB_OEM_ID=27500
  5. Youth hockey parent drama and bullspit. The other hockey parents (or youth sports parents) will know what I am talking about. Coworker bullspit. A coworker of mine comes up to me and says that the maintenance staff is at our location and they are using a lift to look at/repair some lighting issues in an elevated area of our facility, so since they have the lift here, should he ask them to look at a couple busted light covers in another elevated place? I said sure, go ask them to take a peak while they have the equipment here. The maintenance guy basically told him that a) he didn't know that they were broken but they didn't need the lift, just a ladder and b) since they weren't in our tracking system (they were - more on that in a minute) basically he couldn't look at them. So my coworker comes back and tells me this, so I dig through the tracking system and find two ticket requests - over 10 months old - for the busted light covers. Both closed out without being repaired. So I send them to my facility director and ask him if he can look into it and see why they were closed. He forwards the email to the maintenance director, who tries to throw me under the bus to his boss, because apparently I didn't even talk to him that day and claims no one actually asked him about fixing the problems. Next day they come out and use duct tape to "fix" the broken covers. I kid you not. Lazy, useless idiots.
  6. Great stuff, thanks. Does anyone know where I can find a good quality Sabres wallpaper for iPhone? Every one I find is either very lo-res or is the slug logo.
  7. Could not fall asleep last night. Dragging backside today.

    NHL 13

So I have been slumming it with NHL 11 and want to upgrade. Is '13 worth the ~$50 price tag, or should I just go with '12 for now?
  9. Agree on Locker and Gabbert. Ponder should have been late 1st round-early 2nd at best, and that's coming from someone who was one of his biggest fans in college. I also didn't really pay attention to who was drafting so high and their QB issues - KC, Jax, Philly, Oakland, Arizona - all have QB questions. Oakland might be transitioning to Pryor, but there are at least four teams above Buffalo who need QBs.
  10. I don't see Geno going that high. I think his play this year should cause a Brady Quinn-esque slide down the charts. EDIT: Wouldn't surprise me, though. QB class is very thin this year. And there are a few teams drafting high that need a QB, so I wont be surprised if someone reaches.
  11. I was starting to wonder if they would be back before he hit high school.
  12. Oh, sure - now you recognize me. I get it. Yes. Need X back. Has our esteemed neighbor to the north been around during the lockout?
  13. I like the hire and Brees said some nice things to say about him, so hopefully he can develop whoever we draft. After the "success" of the last couple USCw QBs (Sanchez and Leinart) I would stay far, far away from Barkley. Glennon absolutely killed my Seminoles in the second half - he was razor-sharp and locked in. But too inconsistent throughout the year for my taste. I would still take a chance on Geno Smith, but wouldn't take him too high in the draft. I don't know much about Tyler Wilson or Nassib. No one else really excites me.
  14. Glad to be back and talking hockey. I refused to debate the intricacies of HRR and make-whole provisions.
  15. I was pretty much the same way. I think we spent maybe $15 bucks at the Sabres Store on the night of the Amerks-Monsters game (we came in from Cleveland a week later than usual for the holidays because everyone here has been sick and we didn't want to risk bringing anything home and pass on any viruses to our family's newest Sabres fans - two nieces and a nephew. So we came into town for the weekend before New Year's and went to the Amerks-Monsters game with my brothers, other nephews, and father). I even banished my Sabres hoody and workout shirt from the rotation during the lockout.
  16. I suspect it was well-meaning. Just very very poorly worded. Then again, the agents and the NHLPA should have been prepping the players to say all the right things if/when the deal was reached. No sense risking further pissing off your already-ticked customers.
  17. Which sorta sounds like what Winnik said upthread about the fans have to give a big thanks to the players and NHLPA reps for being active participants.
  18. Same here, on all counts. And this. Dude should get free tickets and beers for life at any arena and any NHL event. Or at least until the next work stoppage. Brain-dead moron. Same here. THN's Ken Campbell had a very good article that outlined some ways to start rebuilding bridges with the fans: http://www.thehockey...-step-down.html
  19. Same here. As an FSU alum and a human being, I was curious to see how he responded when the media asked him about being the new record holder. He reacted pretty much exactly how I anticipated. He seemed genuinely hurt when the first allegations came out and like I said above, no one wants to be handed a record at the expense of 10+ child sexual assault victims. Bingo.
  20. And to even consider what happened to force the NCAA to vacate those wins....
  21. No he's not. No one wants to be handed a record like this.
  22. Wow, chz....I haven't been around much the last couple weeks so I missed this. I've never gone through what you just did, so I have no clue how you feel or what you're going through. My condolences. You should have bought one of the mini bats and thrown it at Ubaldo Jimenez. He was brutal tonight. My F'n Fantastic post: The missus and the little guy are visiting my mother-in-law this week, so they're up in Penfield till tomorrow night. Got the house to myself - nice and quiet.
  23. Yep, just got the text alert from the Bills. Not a shock at all. Florence looked awful for large stretches last year, and they drafted a couple good young corners over the last couple drafts. The clock was ticking.
  24. Apples and oranges. Denver had a ###### QB (a true case of athlete playing QB) and goes out and gets a NFL legend to replace him - but the legend they sign is a 36-year-old who missed the entire 2011 season after not one but two neck surgeries. Buffalo has a QB that not only played 2011, but was very good for the first half of the season (QB rating 92.3, 15TDs) until he tried to play through four cracked ribs and an injured sternum, and they go out to bring in a former no.3 overall pick for a workout so they can see if he is even worth a backup spot over Tyler Thigpen. If Manning returns to his former self - his velocity comes back and he is healthy enough to last the season - then the Broncos made a great move.
