Sign Reimer, it's only a million dollars and hopefully the other two play well enough so they don't have to turn to him. Sure, try to trade, get in Free Agency or whatever, but that probably isn't happening. Maybe UPL just couldn't handle all the work being number 1 and with more breaks he is better.

How would you retool this team this summer?

If he gets traded it will be out of the conference -
What is the Next Piece of Good News We Get About This Team?

Good news would be finding a legit goaltender -

It will also be interesting to see how Bernard Decker works out. Another guy that had high hopes placed on him but then he ended up traded to us. Maybe he is at the right age where he turns into a good steady d-man. -

Too early to move on from Mule. Defenseman take time. Look at Forsling in Florida, claimed off waivers, now he is a super good player for them. -
Players you might be interested in this summer

Vladislav Gavrikov, isn't this dude the type of players we need? Defensive defenseman -
The episode where he pretended he was gay so people would hire him to do interior decorating, lol And the episode where he fired people because he was good and letting them down easy, lol. There was a bar on Hertel Ave named Cheers and I'd walk in there delivering pizza and I'd always yell, "Norm" when I walked in for a laugh. RIP Norm

No name leaders for Cats, who are these players leading Florida?
-
I bet Florida is fine tonight. They will be running on autopilot and adrenaline. It can be an advantage to not have time off.

We have some players that look playoff ready: Tuch, Thompson, Zucker, Greenway, Malenstein, Benson, Kulich--if he keeps his head up--and McLovin, while I'd be a afriad that Quinn and Peterka might get run over.

What is JJ Peterka worth and what are you signing for?
bob_sauve28 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Ya, I watch almost no western conference games so I can't relate. Everyone is questioning JJP's defensive game, but what about his forechecking? That's just as important in tipping the ice in our direction and I don't consider him a real grinder at all. Samson does well enough in that, maybe JJP gets better? -

I can't decide if he is more like Samson Reinhardt or Mitch Marner. Neither are very physical, but Samson is clutch, is the definition of grace under pressure while Marner seemed to disappear in playoffs. JJP is sure not like Benson, Braydon Point or Kucherov. After watching the playoffs I wonder if him or Quinn would be the type of players you want in a playoff round. I dunno, maybe he is like Samson. Or maybe they just get run over by physical teams. Both are good skating, open ice, score from some distance away from net players, imo. -
They might be a couple of Mitch Marners.

That should count! Give Seth his damn goal!! The man is on a mission

The wheels have fallen off the Toronto wagon

Hope its a good game. I bet Samson is in on winning goal 👍

Benson, Kulick, Quinn and JJP all babies still. Best years ahead of them, but growing pains still ahead. Watching Florida and Carolina play you see how their forwards are defense first and then make the big plays in key moments. Have to work towards that. Hopefully they take a step forward next year to at least end the draught

Too young?

How do you feel about the group of forwards we currently have?

I’d be happy to see a 7th game, but it’s the Leafs, wouldn’t surprise me if they blow this lead

1-0 Leafs Soft goal?

Well, they finally got a shot this period

Very interesting article! I just finished reading an article about the Caps season and how they surprised so many people--themselves included--by doing so well. The Caps did it with a coach who was not an inside guy at all, Spencer Carbury. He seems like a great coach and he sure got great results. Tocchet is one of the Orange Boys for sure. Reminds me of the Sabres going with Ruff, in a way. What the article above takes umbrage with is the timeline on winning. Brier and Jones want to win now but the author thinks the Flyers are years away from competing seriously. The Flyers, like many teams, don't have a good goalie. The Caps found two good goalies somehow so maybe they Flyers do also, but I agree with the writer that Tochett is probably the wrong way to go. Brier went with someone he knows. I like our Sabres situation more than the Flyers situation. If this is Ruff's last season I sure hope we reach out to a Carbury type rather than a Tochett type of coach. But, Brindamour is an inside guy, and has his team playing super great.
