Yeah, wow. Our team is a lot more garbage than it should be. How Torts can still find a gig coaching any hockey anywhere is beyond me.

Good luck on your recovery! Both of my legs were cramping up by the end. Oh man, I'm not used to exerting myself. But I'm playing again today, tomorrow, and the next day. Trial by fire for my poooor body. Hockey hockey hockey!!!

What Are You Most Looking Forward To This Season?
qwksndmonster replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Nothing in particular. Just some hockey. -
I finally played hockey. They closed the rink in my town for the summer and I finally made it to a drop in. I thought it might take a while to get back into it, but I felt like I was better than I used to be. Like just thinking about hockey for so long without actually playing helped. Probably not, I was just playing against a lot of kids who aren't that good. But it felt amazing. I don't ever wanna go ~three months without hitting the ice again.

Marrone was a garbage coach. Scared scared scared coaching. If he was good, somebody would've hired him as an HC, DC, or OC.

I would stop watching by now, but my shift lasts for another hour. Even getting paid to watch the Bills sucks.
-
Tyrod is not looking so good.
-
I thought Fitz was the most inaccurate qb ever of all time according to most Bills fans. Right? Right? Yup.
-
Woah. You're allowed to throw it deep?

Pretty garbage. Something that would've made my blood boil in the past.

Awww Fitzy is such a cutie. I almost started a GDT just to make 11's head explode.

The only beer I've ever hated so much that I won't drink is Black Bull. I'd rather drink a fifth of vodka than a 40 of that filth.

The two mean the same thing for me.

No, I haven't. Incredibly far from it. But I'm having trouble imagining those people benefitting from Trump, and understanding how Trump would help them. And I don't think saying that somebody (or a group of people) is complicit in sexism/racism is villification. I think the overreaction to those ism words is part of the problem. Which leads me to better understand the point you made earlier about those on the left playing their part in making it harder to talk about. Just because somebody is racist or sexist doesn't make them irredeemable. I had to realize a lot of my own personal biases as a teenager to get to my current politics. I never considered myself a sexist or racist, but I absolutely was part of the problem in a lot of respects.

Bwahahaha that's exactly how I learned the word ignoramus.

Eh. I didn't really care for that video. Kinda boring. It doesn't take much to get me hype for hockey and that video barely moved the needle.

Regardless of whether or not the person is themselves an active xenephobe/racist/sexist, if they vote for Trump they are complicit. That's what I'm saying.
-
If people believe Trump won't make things worse, then I have no idea how they got to that conclusion. I also disagree with the way you're talking about these issues. Time is not all that "solves" racism and sexism. One must be actively fighting to root them out. The biggest fight is against ignorance. I think racism and sexism are a lot bigger, more entrenched issues than you do. So we can leave it at that.
-
A vote for Trump is still a vote for xenophobia, regardless of whatever issue might be primarily motivating the vote.
-
I already said I don't agree with a lot of what Hillary stands for. But if obvious, outward sexism and racism aren't dealbreakers for a person then I think that person really needs to re-evaluate their beliefs and values. Also, I don't totally agree with calling Hillary a war hawk.

I don't think switching the issue from racism to sexism (abortion) changes much. And I know the rhetoric surrounding abortion, not looking to start THAT debate. I don't buy it.

I think dwarf tossing should be okay, as long as it's consensual and there are mitigating circumstances (such as uruk hai at the gate).

How is what I'm saying an attack? You either care about racism and sexism, or you don't and you're part of the problem. Racism and sexism aren't evil horrible things that only bad people do. Plenty of normal, well-meaning people can be contributing to these problems. Calling a problem what it is doesn't make it an attack. In Trump's case, it happens to be glaringly, GLARINGLY obvious. If somebody doesn't care about these issues, they're complicit. It doesn't make them a bad person, but they're still contributing.
