If you accept sexism and racism as "part of the bad" then you're still complicit. There's a good amount of bad I'm accepting from Hillary by voting for her, but none of it comes even close to the bad that comes from Trump. I read a tweet earlier today. This presidential election: the new iPhone doesn't have an aux port but the Note will literally explode.

Those are gorgeous dogs. I'm jelly.
-
Oh, please.

If you're a single issue voter voting for Trump, then you also have to be complicit in all the horrible parts of Trump, or have your head in the sand. The vast majority of racism/sexism is being complicit, and that's exactly what Trump voters are doing.
-
Oh man. Legendarily bad game.

How can racist Trump supporters be read any other way? My point of view on this is that it's inherently racist to support Trump. Whether or not any given Trump supporter is a bigot, they are engaging in racism by supporting a racist. That's why I'm extra super offended by PA's ban. Which is still not okay.

I think I understand this post, because I definitely know a lot of young leftists who are social justice warriors and critically think about very little before they spout hatred through some form of social media. But, in the context of Trump's campaign for president I don't think this captures the whole picture. There seems to be an understanding held by some that Trump's racism/sexism/whathaveyou =/= his supporters views. That doesn't sit right with me.

When did it become worse to call somebody a racist than, y'know, actually support a racist?

Is Trump not a bigot and a racist and a sexist? How are the people that support him for president not responsible for supporting him? Racism/sexism aren't cut and dry issues. Most of it comes in the form of being complacent. You can't give every single Trump supporter the benefit of the doubt because by definition they support a hateful individual. Hillary came out and shot straight. She called out a large group of Trump supporters for what they are. I can understand people slagging her for this being "poor political form" but for the amount of slung by the other side, I'm glad she came out and said it. Voting for Trump is giving support for his hateful messages. A Trump supporter should have to prove that they aren't a bigot instead of being viewed in a vacuum and given the benefit of the doubt. For Freeman to act like agreeing with Hillary that many of Trump's supporters are Bigots is a personal attack on those people is absolutely ridiculous. Trump supporters support Trump for a reason.

You're just cute, is all.

That got a three day ban? Are you kidding me? Wow. No personal bias getting in the way there, eh freeman?

After watching his play tonight I had the thought "Finland's Hedman."

I think saying she's a repub in dem clothes is overstating it a bit, but I definitely hear you. I never expected to become such a Hillary defender but this election has been strange as hell. She's really the only option, and it sucks that the only option is so close to the center. My political views fall somewhere in between socialism and communism, so there'll likely never be a cantidate left enough for me.
-
Huh. Didn't know about that.
-
You're a scumbag.

Ennis with 63. Foligno with 82. Both players played very well in their first call-ups and never had their numbers changed. Foligno wanted to wear 17 but felt too guilty about fans that already bought his 82 jersey. And I just don't think real numbers should be a thing rookies have to earn. It's stupid. You're in the NHL, have a cool number.
-
I always loved the number 57 for Myers. Big goofy number for a big goofy dude. (I still despise Rip's numbering)
-
Also, currently on the front page of Downtrend: an article about Hillary called "One Sick Bitch" and another one called "Blacks, not whites, are keeping black people down." So yeah. Despicable source.

The list is garbage and obviously written with a pro Trump slant. It mis-quotes and minimizes firm examples of Trump's racism (all of which are from 2015 and 2016), goes all the way back to the 70s, makes incorrect claims about Hillary's voting record, and blames her for things that Bill said. When did she vote for a wall between the US and Mexico now? I don't see how anybody can honestly try to draw an equivalence between Trump and Hillary re: racism. It's not rooted in reality.
-
And you're right, what Trump says and what Hillary says are held to different standards, but in the opposite way that you're implying.
-
I'm not a democrat, so please stop making assumptions about my politics. I'm absolutely voting for Hillary. Your comments about racism/the racism of the cantidates are firmly rooted in imaginationland.
-
SabresFaninRochester, you can't avoid the coupling of Trump and racism by decrying "Republicans are racists" as a label. The republican cantidate is openly racist. Anticipated reciprocration of favors? How is that any different from cantidates making campaign promises to get votes? The superdelegates indeed supported Hillary because she was the best cantidate for them. And "my party"? Wow.
-
On superdelegates, one of the main reasons that they exist is to make sure that minorities have a significant voice in the selection of a democrat nominee. Sanders was absolutely horrible at reaching non-white demographics, and to a lesser extent, women; so he did terrible with the super delegates. It grinds my gears so much when superdelegates are blamed for why Bernie didn't get the nod. Bernie screwed Bernie over, nobody else.

This thread has been doing a great job helping me wait for the season. Every time I start thinking " I wanna watch some hockey," I think of the last number I saw in here and it doesn't seem like that long to wait.
