  1. Guys I'm sorry I know I've had a rough time lately but jeez.
  2. This is when Pennywise looks you straight in the face from your tv screen and starts talking to you.
  3. They'd rather have him learning on the Amerks than stuck on a juniors team. That seems like a good move. (As long as he can hang in the A)
  4. I've been thinking about the show a lot in the wake of Roy Dotrice's death. He played the wide-eyed pyromancer in season 2 who gives Tyrion the wildfire. Dotrice narrated the ASoIaF audio books and was originally offerred the role of Pycelle. He turned it down for health-related reasons, but man I would've loved that. Anyways, I've been listening to the first book again and thinking a lot about how GoT as an adaption was doomed from the start. The showrunners were too close to GRRM and not nearly close enough to the story itself. GRRM probably told them that the 6th book would be out in short order and they went forward with more or less a 1:1 method of adaption. Anybody familiar with the widening scope of these books would have taken a wildly different approach to GoT from seasons 2-on. GRRM needed to get some real artists to adapt this nearly unadaptable work. And he also probably needed to stay away so they could kill his darlings early on. GRRM's current disinterest in GoT is pretty telling. He'd rather talk about the other TV shows set in Westeros that he's producing. Ah well. GoT ended up being an artistic failure that brought the books and GRRM into the limelight he deserved. In the end of the day, I chalk it up in the win column. Also, there a part in Logan Lucky where a buncha prisoners stage a riot because they want the next ASoIaF book. When the warden says that the book isn't out yet and the tv show is where people are getting their information all the prisoners collectively groaned. That's when I knew I was in the right theater.
  5. I'm really excited for Colin Farrell's next two films, both with directors I ADORE. Killing of a Sacred Deer, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Lanthimos and Farrell worked together on the Lobster and have magic chemistry. Can't wait to see another dark, odd world come to life. Roman J. Israel, Esq. was already drawing me in for two distinct reasons: It's directed by Dan Gilroy, who wrote and directed Nightcrawler, one of the (if not the) best films of the 2010s. It stars Denzel Washington, greatest actor of all time perod. Throw Colin Farrell into the mix and I literally can't be more excited. In other news, PTA's next movie is another collaboration with Daniel Day Lewis, and comes out this Christmas. HYPE
  6. I think it's weird that people are focusing on the tank when talking about why this team sucks so bad. (There's been some talk about bad drafting outside round 1, which is much more legit) Maybe the lesson is get a real coach to teach your young team how to win and not a robot who's never done anything but luck into a cup.
  7. Glad you're okay Randyman. I'm delivering tonight. I checked the score at 4-2 and then again after we won. Wow! Can't wait to see it. Thanks PA for getting my back on the missed faceoff.
  8. Hard to rush the puck when your linemate is rushing the puck.
  9. My gf and I both have today off. This happens almost never. Polish food!! Big Mean Sound Machine in Ithaca later tonight!
  10. I really like Josefson's game. One of our better bottom 6ers to start this year. Hope he's back soon.
  11. I love the tone of your bass, Swamp. (Also you guys are damn good)
  12. Dubstep is being forced down our throats? I don't think it's 2012 anymore.
  13. Pouliot has shown some signs of life lately. Griffith is still a big yuck.
  14. Okay I messed up. Bogosian is never coming back, is he? The other way just sounds weird.
  15. Really excited for Zemgus to come back so Phil can continue to not play him with Jack.
  16. I think Gionta was one of the only guys that had Bylsma's back that actually deserved his ice time. It's too bad that it didn't work out because it'd be great to have him on this roster.
  17. MODO!!!! Great to hear your whistle and see your face. I've always been right with you and Liger on team Ullmark. <3
  18. Bogosian is never coming back, isn't he?
  19. I love the mittelstadt hype machine. So many things in Buffalo sports are meaninglessly miserable. It's nice to have something ridiculously optimistic and pure.
  20. lol because it's way too eary to say anything. Sam had a quietly effective 1st game feeding Zemgus so Zemgus could feed the goaltender's crest. Then he sucked and Phil put him on the third line wing and encouraged him to create on his own. Since then we've seen a more assertive Sam. He still needs to get better at staying on his feet while playing the body but it's never stopped him from hanging onto the puck. The kid needs talented wingers to reach his potential. He scored 20 as a rookie and scored 50 points as a sophomore. What does he have to do to earn his shot? O'Reilly's best offensive season came from the wing. Why is he stapled to the center spot? Sam is faster than ROR and should be working the center of the ice.
