I'll make the case for Hodgson. He's better than he's getting credit for. I agree that he lacks intensity, but in reality not every single member of your top 6 is a blood and guts player. I am fine with Hodgson as our 2nd line center going forward and am looking forward to him continuing to improve his game. Every single spot around him in the top 6 needs to be filled in properly if we're going to have playoff success, though. I definitely don't think Ennis is one of those pieces.

The Canes and Predators both had very nice late stage tanks last year. Just dropped into a tailspin. -

In the Caps - Flyers game Simmonds should've been called for third man in when he held Fehr for Vinnie and he got 2 + 2. There is no justice.

Brooklyn bagels, cream cheese, lox. For the US game against Russia I woke up early and grabbed a dozen panera bagels and bacon. I made eggs in a basket in the bagels and made delicious breakfast sandwiches of victory for my family. Too bad I didn't for the Canada game...

When Hodgson skates up ice with the puck, I actually have confidence that he'll get a shot off or pass it to a Sabre. He's got that "talent" thing going for him. Ohhhh wow that hit is hard to watch :o

I think your doom whispers are even sillier than our pie in the sky draft talk, even when you're right. :P That's the kind of W you wanna see. The best players for the Sabres were the ones that might actually be part of the future. Myers, Hodgson, Enroth, and Foligno getting it done. Stamkos incredibly classy (almost ridiculously so) in his first postgame as a C "It's tough, you've got a team in here who is not necessarily going to be in the [stanley Cup Playoffs], and they battle hard and their goalie plays well," Stamkos said. "We can't afford to let teams come in here and beat us down the stretch."

I was bothered at first when Moulson took Vanek's 26, because Vanek is one of my favorite players. It wore off very quickly and I can honestly say Neuvirth wearing 30 doesn't bother me at all.

The panthers signed like 8 ufas 2 years ago, and then were good enough to OTL their way to the playoffs.

It's not using as many Pegula bucks as you think. They only have to pay him for the last 20 games or so. Washington already payed most of his 3 mil already this year.

I could see Halak having less value than Neuvirth, but Halak is definitely better now.
