  1. Do I have to decide now or can I wait another 2.5 seasons?
  2. Yup. And Bogosian has yet to show that he's better than Tyler Myers. Judging from this thread, it appears that I value Kane higher than most here. Most natural winger, true power forward.
  3. This is why I despise the new consoles. Charging that much for games from 2 console generations ago? Why not just have backwards compatibility? Because ###### you, customer, that's why.
  4. Baldur's gate <3 Never played Planescape.
  5. I'm not sure. It makes me angry because so much effort was put into the voiced conversations. I think that you should voice a character's intro to give them a flavor and then just have the rest of their dialogue be text. That way the writers aren't constrained and they can freely write 10 varied and whacky responses instead of 2-4 generally boring responses. That actually frees up the writing for quests as well. AAA games are so frustrating because they put all the emphasis on graphics and voice acting when all I want is story, aesthetics, and immersion.
  6. I saw STP a few years ago after their reunion. The tickets were like $40 bucks each and they only played for 45 minutes. Both opening bands played for an hour. They were okay, but you could hear Weiland's voice wasn't as good as it used to be. STP and Velvet Revolver both meant a decent amount to me at one time. I'll never forget these: Also: Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart Plush Creep
  7. I know back at Thanksgiving our Regal already had 1 show completely sold out. I wonder how many will be sold out by the premiere. I normally get all my movies for free, but I might buy tickets just to be safe. This is going to be a cultural event, I'm not going to miss it.
  8. I've played a few hours of Fallout 4. The beginning of this game is baaaad. First of all: your character is voiced. I've often thought that voicing all the NPCs in bethesda RPGs is a waste. It severely cuts down on the amount of choice available to the player. Voicing the player character is even worse, and will make modding that much more difficult. Fallout games have always been (for me) about roleplaying as different characters. In Fallout 4 I rarely agree with my character's external voice, and it ruins my ability to imagine an internal voice. Anyways: The first hour of the game sees your character reacting to giant roaches with very real fear. 20 minutes later, you're mowing down tens of people without a second thought. I've heard that the game gets much better, but I don't really have time to keep playing. Very disappointed so far. The mechanics feel awesome, though. Movement no longer has that lurching quality to it, and you can loot containers without going into a menu that stops the world. This gives the game much better flow. The UI when using in-game computers is a joke, though. No excuse for that.
  9. That's mostly on power plays, though. In 5on5 in the O-zone every single forward needs to have the willingness to crash the net hard when necessary. You generally don't have the possession or space to just camp out.
  10. So surprising, hearing this from you.
  11. I disagree. If you're a forward you should absolutely be going to the dirty areas. Eichel is creating a lot of goals with his tools, which is great to see, but his game isn't anywhere close to complete. He's a really big kid. If he doesn't go to the front of the net then he's not going to become the forward we all know he can be.
  12. Playing very well in his own zone doesn't fit our style? His speed looks fine to me.
  13. That's why no deal could be done. We were discussing it a full 7 or 8 months before we could've resigned Getzlaf. I'm pretty sure by the off season the trade rumors stopped. I doubt he was ever available.
  14. Change is going to have to come from the outside, no doubt.
  15. I thought Myers was gonna be good! Really good! Maybe even scary good?
  16. The problem, though, is that there's no way to distinguish between a good and bad cop on sight, so all cops scare the ###### out of me on principle.
  17. Misrepresentation of the argument. Getzlaf's contract situation made him little more than a year and 3 month rental, while Myers was locked up for 8+years.
  18. It would've been funny if it was an "I think..." statement.
  19. Oh! Forgot one! The Summer after my senior year of high school some friends and I went to the Bonnaroo music festival in Manchester, Tennessee. The car we took had a bunch of bumper stickers. Sublime, Grateful Dead, religious tolerance stuff, etc. The girl driving the car when we got pulled over is not the brightest, but very nice. The officer acted like it was for speeding even though there were two lanes on the highway to our left going faster than we were (I think we were going 77 in a 70). After putting my poor friend on the spot he asked in his best manipulate-citizen-into-relinquishing-rights voice "You don't mind if I search your car, right?" So of course she said no and we had to stand next to our car for 30 minutes while he went through all of our camping supplies and luggage. He awkwardly said to us afterwards that he saw our tolerance bumper sticker and wondered if we were "tolerant" of anything else. I know a couple good cops. But I can't really forgive any of them for willfully participating in a broken system.
  20. I've only had bad experiences with police. I've never been arrested. I've been driving for 5 years, and I've only gotten one ticket. It was a speeding ticket for going 69 in a 55 (Friday night on 13 heading to Ithaca to see my girlfriend). I was issued a 200 dollar ticket which I got reduced to 120 when I appealed in traffic court. The officer lectured me, but whatever, it was fine. The other times I had run in with police: About 8 months ago got stopped on a Saturday night at around midnight because the officer said I went over the white line (I didn't). I was driving my Dad's BMW. I suspect that this never would have happened if I was in my usual minivan. He asked me why my hand was shaking and I told him that my hands have always been shaky. He then asked me if I was nervous, which I said yes. He asked me if I had anything to drink, I said yes, a(one) Southern Tier IPA at 10. Then he had me come behind my car for a sobriety test. He attempted to mislead me into saying that I had more than one drink three times. ("You said you had a couple drinks tonight?") He awkwardly sent me on my way afterwards. I was infuriated by this. Several times when I was in a band driving to or from a gig (car full of college age curly headed hipsters), we were stopped and rudely, aggressively questioned about where our drugs were (we had no drugs). My friend even consented to a search one time. The cop accused my friend of stealing from Hot Topc because his manager keys were in the glove box. We had to wait until the cop called his store to get back into our car. Friends of ours (in a different band) have had their equipment damaged after consenting to a search. One time, my friend and I were parked in a parking lot next to Taco Bell eating our food (again, two curly headed college age hipsters). A cop turned on his lights and siren and rolled up on us. He asked me where I lived and left us embarrassed after seeing that we were eating. When I was a kid I was in the car with my 16 year old brother. He was a pipsqueak of a teenager and got pulled over on the street we live on for no reason (because he looked young). 2 officers came to his car. After asking my brother if he knew why he had been stopped ("no?"), he awkwardly asked after a long pause if there was a reason why my brother didn't have a rear license plate. Surprised, my brother got out of the car to inspect it with the 2 cops. The other officer said "It's on. clearly on there." My brother was super polite. But once they were gone he raged. When I see a cop, my stomach instantly drops. I don't feel safer, I feel like this is a person with power over me who will do whatever he can to arrest me.
  21. Coldplay is just as boring as football.
  22. Kane - O'Reilly - Reinhart is the top line right now.
  23. Thinking on it some more, the assertion that Oduya has better offensive awareness than Rasmus might be the wrongest thing I've ever read on here.
