Man, my son has been beating me at chess since he was 7 years old(14 now). But he's strategically smart and I'm just plain dumb. Seriously, I can't win at Connect 4 either. But now it's getting to the point where he can beat his mother, and she's actually intelligent, so he might have something. He usually drops by chess club a couple days a week, and I'm sure he'll continue that this year. That said, not a sport. But definitely challenging.

@mjd1001 Vettal will always be number 2 to Lewis Hamilton even though they both have the same amount of titles. And he might be lucky that Nico Rosberg retired or he might be number 3. He's too unpredictable. Plus, Mercedes has the car now. Mercedes' car is undoubtedly better than Ferrari's the past 3 years. Although Ferrari definitely caught back up this year. I watch F1 at work a lot. It's always a 2 person race and the top 5 is always some mix of Hamilton, Vettal, Bottas, Räikkönen and Ricciardo. Oh, and Max Verstappen too. The Haas team has no shot and the Force India team has no shot. It just seems like if you don't drive for Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull your car can't compete regardless of how good the driver might be.

I live in the Poconos, you live in the Rockies. My passes were significantly cheaper than yours. 2 separate passes at 2 mountains, just under $400. I have 7 mountains within 45/60 minutes from my house. I'd love for them to do something like an Epic or an Ikon pass, but no such luck yet.

I'm planning on buying new skis this year. I've had them all picked out for the past 9 months and I've been saving up. I'll definitely be getting them. Now, I have a question for y'all. I've got an opportunity to pick up a different pair of skis. A pair of skis unrelated to anything I currently do on the mountain. I can snag an $1100 pair of Downhill FIS Racing skis for $150. I do compete in beer league races, but beer league only runs Giant Slalom, never Downhill, so they're no use to me there. No, I want them only to be able to hit 85mph on the slopes. It's like buying a Lamborghini to drive 5 times a year. I'm never going to be able to race them in competition, and I'm going to have to explain to my wife why I have 4 pairs of skis. Worth it? What say you?
