  1. alright thanks...hopefully he is able to continue the pursuit of Antipin as we sure could use the guy
  2. Dudley would be awesome and I think would clearly be a big step forward and in the right direction...
  3. do we have like a assistant GM that can run the ship right now?
  4. maybe Murray's style has pissed off other GM's where they won't deal or talk to him anymore
  5. The biggest problem here was that both teams sucked and were way out of a playoffs spot which is just unacceptable. The leafs made the big club look very bad and supposedly we were ahead of them in the rebuild but that just isn't the case. Lets hope we can get Duds from Montreal...hopefully his roots in Buffalo will sway him to come over...he is such a good hockey mind and could then hire us a good coach
  6. whenever I see a MacDonalds commercial their food looks so good so off I go but of course when I order my BigMac or 1/4 Pounder it looks like crap and doesn;t taste much better...looks so friggin good on TV though
  7. interesting thought...Lombardi but no Sutter?
  8. I do think we overused both OReilly and Risto but hopefully a new coach and GM will alleviate that problem. and yes, we need another center among other things...
  9. I do not think he doesn't earn his money but if we could get that stud defenseman we need it's just a thought...
  10. Not sure if Pegula's care about the ex- or old-Sabre thing as in Duds and Housley although both would be great choices...I too fear the duo from LA are in the lead
  11. With GMTM's sudden and unexpected dismissal one is made to look at his moves and try to see where he went wrong. I thought getting OReilly for next to nothing was a steal but in the end, is he worth the huge contract? Jack is the future, so where does OReilly fit? Do they explore moving him? Just thinking out loud...
  12. can't help but think the Leafs success pretty much ensured GMTM's and Disco Dan's fate...we were suppose to be ahead of their rebuild and in a better position to make the playoffs but of course they are giving washington all they can handle (and may beat them yet) while we are, well....golfing
  13. no doubt they'll want experienced people at this point...this is no time to be experimenting and hiring young and/or unproven people
  14. agreed...McNabb is nothing and the Kulikov trade was done because Kulikov looked awesome in the playoffs last year for Florida plus we got the draft pick from them to draft a highly sought-after prospect Asplund who may turn out to be the key of the trade...really I thought GMTM did fine but I can't help but think there is a duo in mind who Pegula will have basically already hired (and no it ain't darcy and Lindy Act II)
  15. oh there's others for sure but I fear the LA duo may be hired even though I am not in favor for sure
  16. makes no sense to fire GMTM then bring in someone with little or no experience at the NHL level. they have to hire people with a ton of job experience which I guess leaves us the LA duo
  17. clearly one does not fire both of them without something and someone in mind for the job...there is no way it will be anybody without big experience already whoever that may be
  18. It obviously is clear that terry has someone in mind for replacements or he would not have done this before the draft...it is just a question of who he has in mind. some think the duo from LA possibly? I hope not...and bringing back Lindy just doesn't make a lot of sense. either way, this is shocking but proves they'll do whatever it takes to win. I thought GMTM actually did a pretty good job but Danny had to go. any thoughts on the LA duo? I am not too keen on them but wouldn;lt be surprised
  19. he is a good coach though...outcoaches every coach and that is why his teams win among other things like getting a ton of milage out of his players
  20. have to agree that if Disco Danny stays it is a Pegula decision
  21. To be honest I am using my own experience at work...I worked at a casino up here in Ontario from before it opened in 1996...the owners were Carnival Cruise Lines and we had a President that allowed it to be fun, creative and I loved going to work. Then another group bought the controlling interest and changed everything to be boring and controlled and I hated going to work...no different then the Sabre players not liking going to work anymore...the fun is taken out of it and it is no longer enjoyable...
  22. you can't eat a uncooked pizza straight from the fridge...gotta cook it first then let i cool if you want to eat it cold. uncooked bacon and other toppings will kill ya...having said I haven't eaten a pizza I didn't like (well, maybe once) Papa Johns is good and Domino's too...
  23. I, along with a lot of other posters have been saying on here to anybody who would listen (and even to some whom wouldn't) that Blysma'a system is killing this team and is outdated and simply will not work in today's NHL. I think we all remember New jersey and their famous trap that worked very well with Marty in goal. They got a goal or two then bored the other team to death. Today's NHL has (thankfully) done away with the clutching and grabbing and the interference defensemen used to slow up fore-checkers into the offensive zone, and is so much more wide-open. Last night proves exactly what I have been saying, hat no lead is safe and that a team must keep going and not try to sit on a lead. The Caps had a 2 goal lead, Ottawa saw a 3 goal lead disappear, even the Hawks had a 2 goal lead and Calgary had a 3 goal lead. No lead is safe and today's NHL dictates that a team keeps going and doesn't take the foot off the pedal. Far too many times we got leads then tried to sit on them with little or no success. This system is trying to get every player "on the same page" and have them all play a boring defensive system that simply does not nor will not work. Maybe 5 or 8 years ago, but not now. I think by GMTM's words he is going to try and get Blysma to change and to see less "system" but I am afraid he will not change. He is rying to implement a outdated system and after seeing what is going on around the NHL i is becoming clearer that Blysma must be replaced for this team to ever have any real success. The new NHL dictates a system that is totally opposite from Blysma's. Maybe it is not the players, but his system dragging down everybody...this team has good offensive-style players who enjoy playing to those talents but this system is holding them back...no wonder they look uninspired...they aren't knowing everyday the coach will be preaching his system. This is no different then if at work you have a great boss that allows a fun environment that allows for creativity and for each individual to excel at what they do best and to not hold back the employees, then a new boss comes in and wants everybody to do the same thing and takes the fun out of it. You wouldn;t want to go to work either and no doubt we would probably give up just as the players did at times this year. I worked at a company that had great owners and allowed for freedom and promoted employees to be happy and have fun. Then a new set of owners came in and it changed overnight into a place where we were all stressed and it wasn;t hard to see that employees were not happy. Uninspired employees are not great employees to have, and I do think maybe this team is just that...uninspired on most nights...
  24. yes but other teams can offer a system that allows the defense to rush and be creative and look for long break-out passes and also to join the rush which obviously Blysma is totally against...hate to say it but after looking at this team and it's system under Disco Dan he'll head off to any other team where he'll be free to play his game and not being made to play the Sabres' coaches game
  25. no hope in hell the NHL will let us move up...they made sure we haven't yet and it won;t start now...pretty sure they'll let Vegas win top pick as they paid Bettman a truck load of cash for the honor of playing in his league
