  1. I'm sold on Savoie, think he is going to make a huge impact for them as soon as next year. They have all these high end prospects, you gotta let them play at some point. If you look back at this season, the young forwards (JJP and Benson) have been their top forwards for much of the season. It's the guys with more experience that have regressed. so I have no problem with adding more youth if it means less of guys like Skinner, Olofsson and KO plus as I mentioned before if you bring in Boone, you really are depleting a lot of your prospect pool as for Savioe for Skinner .... skinner is going to do next to nothing for you on a 3rd line. Savoie is tenacious on the puck, he is fast and won't be allergic to back checking Plus if there is one player in the league that represents regular season failure it's Jeff Skinner.
  2. Now that we are on to next year ( once again before the playoffs start), it's time to project the lineup for opening night 24/25 this is my best guess of what the lineup will look like, trying to be somewhat realist Top 6 - pretty well write this in ink JJP Tage. Tuch Benson Cozens Quinn Bottom 6 Greenway Jenner Savoie Girgs. Kulich Carrier 3rd line centre : Option 1 - Jenner is going to be expensive but if anyone can pay the price it's the Sabres. Krebs and a 1st round pick may entice the rebuilding bluejackets Option 2 Sean Monahan - a UFA who can play 2 way game and win faceoffs. 4th Line UFA Carrier will bring the energy and physical play we all crave Will have to decide to play either ease Kulich in a 4th line role or keep him in Roch 1 more season What I do know , the guy will be ready for whatever the Sabres ask if they prefer Kulich not playing on the 4th line, then they will dip once again in the UFA market for a guy like Colin Blackwell 13th Skinner 14th Robinson Dahlin. Byrum Power. Samuelsson Johnson Clifton don't think we will see a top 4 RHD brought in Just so few out there that fit the bill and the price of one will be too high 7 - UFA signing that many of us have never heard of UPL Levi Levi will take Amerks deep into the playoffs proving he is too good for the AHL Probably not enough change for a lot of you on the ice but I do predict a complete overhaul of the coaching staff Plus, Trading for Boone Jenner will be costly and use up a lot of their trade capital
  3. Further on Parayko , he has received votes for the Lady Bing 4 times in his career. I can just imagine how Sabres Space will react to the 6-6 gentlemanly defenceman.
  4. how would Savoie not have 1st round value? the kid just led the WHL in pts / gm with 2 and is off to a great start in the playoffs and the 1st round pick, is still to come Not sure how you would rank Samuelsson but if you can get a first for Risto..... Plus I would say getting Kulich, Levi, Tuch, Krebs, Östlund and Greenway ((LVK) 2nd round pick used to acquire him) is a pretty good haul for 2 players who were at the end of their Sabres careers. Is a 31 year old Parayko two first round picks better than Samuelsson? I dont see any universe that he is Again not opposed to the player, just not worth the package you want to pay
  5. To pay the price for Tkachuk, you have to have a serious investigation into his maturity level.
  6. Agree with all but Samuelsson. Skinner and Jokiharju are definitely at the top of my list
  7. Oops. I think I have egg on my face
  8. I do agree with you and I don't mind overpaying for the right player but basically 3 first round picks for Parayko? You don't know me very well if you don't think I'll answer. Plus I've said in many threads what I think the Sabres should do next season. it's not that I mind the player but he is not worth the equivalent of 3 first round picks
  9. I'm very happy that you aren't the GM of the Sabres
  10. Too rich a price IMHO. Not that I wouldn't welcome the player but those are 3 prime pieces
  11. I will add about Joker and please correct me if I'm wrong. It was Joker that iced the puck needlessly prior to the face off where he took the penalty. Time to move on from him
  12. The last couple of games have proved that there are a couple of players who should not be in the opening night line-up 1) Jeff Skinner - the stink of 1000 games and no playoffs is much too strong to ignore 2) Henri Jokiharju- minus 2 within the first 5 mins. Both times with soft D. (Yes I know that Quinn made terrible passes on both). Then the penalty that led to the 3rd goal The bottom 6 needs a lot of work. - only guys on the roster right now that should be considered are Greenway, Krebs (though that's not 100%), Girgensons (4th line winger). Meaning you could see 4 or 5 new faces to fill out the bottom 2 lines
  13. There will be nothing more appropriate than an empty net goal against to put us out of our misery
  14. I'd be thinking about shortening the bench #10 just isn't up for it
  15. Good news. Donny still has an ace up his sleeve. You can't always go to Levi.... wait , what? They sent him back to the Amerks while the Sabres were still alive ??! lol
  16. Every time they get close and the game means a bit extra. ...they crumble
  17. Have to wonder if Ellis has spent any time watching their PP? So impressive
  18. Penguins look like they will take the 3rd slot in their division. Hopefully Flyer have nothing left vs the Blue Jackets later today and the Preds take care of the Islanders Would set up a situation where the Sabres can get within. 2 points of the playoffs
