We would still have huge holes to fill. So maybe they'd finish 8th last
-
Once the season was lost , be it December, Nov or even before it began, this is the best result we could have hoped for. Team severely lacks skill and talent. The guy they draft at 1,2,3 or most likely 4 is going to be a huge improvement over the guy he replaces. With a little luck, it could come as soon as next season.

he would never, ever sign with Buffalo. He's looking at winning a cup. how about a win in the Shoot Out? -
Forwards Next Year - Status Quo or Major Overhaul?
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
nope with Girgensons being done for the season, has he played his last game with the Sabres? If he does return, he is no better than a 4th line / 13th forward to me. -
Lets check back after this weekend. Will be interesting to see how he does.
-
Maybe him and Borgen would be a good combo? no doubt Dobson and Bouchard are the safer pick but the elite skating / offensive abilities of Boqvist and Hughes intrigue me.
-
Will be watching Hughes closely over the weekend at the Frozen 4. He has a chance to move up the rankings now that Bouchard's season is done. Bouchard won't get to play in the u18s as he is a 99 born.

He is committed to Harvard, anyone know if there is an instance of a guy going to Harvard and not completing his 4 years? edit. Just went through the list http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/alumni.php?tmi=6047 I may be mistaken, but I don't think there is anyone else who has gone to Harvard as highly rated as Wahlstrom
-
does that mean we have seen the last of Nolan and Pouliot?
-
I think the lesson should be, lets not sign any free agents until we get a solid "core". UFA's should be the final pieces, not core guys you build around. Of course, you are going to have to sign 1 or 2 just to fill out your roster next year but definitely no "big splash"
-
Play Pouliot, Beaulieu, Gorges, Tennyson and Faulk. That should be enough
-
Seriously, 67 to the pressbox for his last 3 games.
-
All 6 guys on the ice for Sabres, I can't wait till they are replaced. 22, 28, 29. 4 5 and 31
-
Don't disagree, but he has been hung out to dry tonight Pretty sure he is Swedish as well
-
That's lazy blaming the goalie. 1st goal 67 is brain dead in coverage, 2nd goal one of the best goal scorers in league has all day in slot. 3rd goal,Nelson thinks he can change while the leafs have possession of the puck, leading to a breakaway. Hardly the goalies fault
-
Why do we have so many brain dead players? I'll give Nelson a break cause he is still a young player but what the hell are you thinking?
-
That was all on 67. Brutal awareness. 3 more games
-
67. 3 more games. Good bye
-
I'd be actually ok with them if you gave Jack 2 decent wingers, Not the thread for this but next year Mittelstadt Eichel XXX WIlson ROR Samson Bailey ERod Baptiste Girgs Larsson Okposo looks a lot better to me - especially if XXX is Svechnikov or Zadina.

no but Kris Baker tweeted that there some "chatter about Lawrence Pilut" plays on HV-71 in Sweden and is thought the be one of the top UFA's available. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=84938 From the Athletic Ottawa - Lawrence PilutOne of two blueliners on this list, 22-year-old Lawrence Pilut is a left-shot defenceman that took the SHL by storm this season, and my favourite of the three players I'm about to profile. A dual citizen (U.S.) thanks to his dad, Larry, Pilut is a player who has quietly worked his way up through the HV71 system before breaking out this year with 38 points in 52 games — a mark that was good enough to lead his team in scoring and pace all SHL blueliners. Pilut emerged as a regular for HV71 back in 2014-15, where, as a 19-year-old, he suited up for 48 games. He really came into his own last season, when his 12 points in 48 games and additional five points in 16 playoff games helped lead HV71 to a championship.

Whose idea was the tank and whose decision was it?
Crusader1969 replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I don't believe that at all. I think the team is / was completely over-matched when it comes to talent from the goalie on out. -

why would you trade your 2nd line center unless you are convinced Casey is ready to take over that roll? Sabres need to add talent not subtract talent IMO -

I think Reinhart can be a JVR clone from a goal scoring side. 35 goals with 30 coming within 4' of the net
