  1. 28...4 more games - good bye
  2. you would be happy if you were an Oilers fan - A playoff appearance last season and finishing 10th last this season. Mediocre hockey at its finest
  3. This reminds me, has there ever been any discussion of the Sabres creating a Supporters section at home? a loss tonight - a couple of wins vs Toronto & Ottawa (in OT) and then lose out to TB and Florida. Perfect way to finish the season. I
  4. I stopped at Season A in the first Scenario. The important part of A is that the new non-negligible improvement comes from guys who will be on the roster the following year as well+. Now if you said Season B and they landed Hughes, I would really have to rethink that. How about you?
  5. Of course I want them to be a cup contender, that's why i supported the Tank cause the end-game is to be a cup winner. At the same time, you have be realistic, I don't see them going from last to Stanley Cup in one season - Even if they get Dahlin. do you see them as being anything more that an 85 point team next year?
  6. wow we agree on something. Besides Lemmy being the Man that is! I could see this happening too but probably not next season with Mittelstadt being a rookie.
  7. where does 80 to 85 points get them? bottom 7 to 10 I guess? should have said REAL lucky :)
  8. its definitely ok for any team to do it. Just somehow, the overwhelming opinion is that the Leafs have honor and the Sabres are disgraced and don't deserve the luck of the ping pong balls.
  9. Even Boqvist would be a nice addition, he had a tough time vs Men in the SHL but still did extremely well when up against his peer group. This biggest difference is that Dahlin, Svechnikov and Zadina are NHL ready, outside of that only Tkachuck (physically) would be ready to make the jump. the Leafs and Garret Sparks agree with you, lets not forget they kept this guy in net over all other options Player Name GP Min GA GAA W L T Svs Pct EN SO James Reimer 32 1797 75 2.49 11 12 7 845 0.918 4 0 Jonathan Bernier 38 2131 103 2.88 12 21 3 1011 0.908 7 3 Garret Sparks 17 970 49 3.02 6 9 1 407 0.893 2 1 Leafs last 9 games Sparks 0-5 Bernier 2-2 2nd last game of the season Bernier wins 4-3 vs Philadelphia, makes over 40 saves. 2 days later they play their last game, Bernier deserves the start, right? nope, Sparks and his .873 save percentage over his previous 5 games, gets the nod. Over that same time frame Bernier goes 3-2 and has a sv % of .923 Leafs win that last game and Matthews is now an Edmonton Oiler in 2015/16 Leafs trade make the follow roster transactions: roster players Traded away - Traded for Phil Kessel Colin Greening Dion Phaneuf Conor Carrick Roman Polak Ben Smith Shawn Mattias James Reimer Somehow this has Honor.
  10. I'll take unlucky this year and real lucky next.
  11. Rasmus Sandin https://mobile.twitter.com/mitchlbrown/status/978989031865376773 Was going to do a highlight video of him but now will have to find someone else because it's unlikely he will be on the board at 32. the draft analyst tweeted that he could move into a top10 slot. https://mobile.twitter.com/thedraftanalyst/status/980057490695032832
  12. As GA says, Avs are built around 1 super -line of Mackinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog. Wouldn't mind the Sabres trying to do the same next year with the Eichel line by putting the best 3 forwards on the same line.
  13. KO deserves a little bit of a break and a full off-season of training before we completely write him off. Lets not forget that one year ago, exactly, he was fighting for his life in ICU.
  14. If you compare him to last years 4th overall pick Cale Makar who was also a freashman this past season maker. 35gp 5g 16a Hughes - 36gp 5g 24a Bottom line is whomever the Sabres draft at 1-4 will be a huge addition to this team The real key is the guy they draft at 32. - that's the one they have to get right
  15. Are you sure you aren't reading about his brother? I've never heard that of his game. I've also watched 20 colts games this season and never thought that. Though, that was a criticism of his brothers game.
  16. Losses to the Leafs and Preds and 1 more win by the Coyotes / Sens and 1 more point for Canucks and last place is clinched. Could be over by Monday night. Sad but true
  17. Minor miracle that the lottery balls fall our way. Rasmus Dahlin
  18. Nolan can't clear it, Falk too slow to the corner. 5 more games....
  19. Casey already a point per game player
  20. beaulieu strikes again. 5 more games and hope we never see him in a Sabres uniform again
  21. Having a world class goalie like Rinne and the emergence of Hellebuyck hasn't hurt the Preds and Jets. Hopefully, Ullmark will finally be that guy for the Sabres
  22. I will be very surprised if Svechnikov isn't #2 on almost every teams draft boards.
  23. the argument isn't would they be better off right now, its about was it the right course of action then. I agree they probably would be better off right now without the tank - you can't get much lower than last. If they win a cup in 7 years with Eichel as the center piece, with Samson, Mittelstandt, Nylander and whomever they draft this year and next as the "core". Was the tank still the wrong course of action?
  24. so 8th last again this year. Where do I sign up? you had it your way for the better part of the last 40 years being in the middle of the pack. Tired of seeing them either just miss the play-offs or be first round fodder. Yes, they had a magical ride in 2005 and 2006 but didn't make it to the finals, they rode the best goalie in the world to a Stanley cup appearance one year in 1999. Thats not good enough for me.
  25. you make it sound like the Sabres were cup contenders and they decided to change course mid-stream
