  1. Thanks for posting this. Wilde - no, too many issues though RHD and skill level alone would make him an easy pick Thomas - maybe - Good Prospect, good motor but more of a playmaker than goal scorer Bokk - Yes, but again I expecct him to go in Rd 1 McLeod - Hard No, doesnt play with intensity and hockey sense has been questioned. Sandin - Hard to pass over another Rasmus but he is a LHD. I would trade down a few spots as he would be in high demand if still available. Kaut - Maybe, not the greatest skater but is a good all round winger. Miller - No, probably gone in rd 1 anyways but LHD is the one slot I would not take. Dellanndrea - Yes, run to the podium Olofsson - no, smart 2 way centre. Will be a good prospect but the Sabres need high end skating/skill Merkley - no, see Bode Wilde Berggen - yes, run to the podium McIssac, Alexeyev and Samuelsson- No, all good prospects but none have the offensive abilities needed for such a high pick and are all LHD Gustafsson - No, 2 way center with skating issues Groulx - doesnt bring enough offense Lundkvist - Yes, RHD smooth skating RHD Addison - Maybe, RHD offensive Dman but big questions on his D play Marchenko - Yes, Size, speed and skill. Tychonic - big fan of his game but LHD is not a priority Foudy, O'Brien and Wise - all would be great additions to the Sabres
  2. If I was thinking of buying a jersey, I would definitely wait until the 50th anniversary edition. They have to go back to the original Blue then, right?
  3. I agree. Exactly what the Sabres need, could he fall enough to the point where they could make a deal? so no to Merkley and Wilde.
  4. any idea what is going on with him? is the conditioning issues something from the combine? If you are going with a flyer at 32 im taking Merkely over Wilde/
  5. ROR? Montreal isn't that crazy though are they???? They do really need that C If Bob's top 31 go exactly that way. Who are you taking at 32? 1) Merkley 2) O'Brien 3) Lundkvist 4) Ylonen 5) Berggren 6) Other
  6. I thought Wilde too until this weekend. He wasn't invited to the US summer camp for the World Juniors, Corey Pronman dropped him in his rankings due to "off-ice and conditioning issues", whatever that means as I can't find anything else about that. and now from Bob Mckenzie: Like any draft, and like any rankings, there are some wild cards. U.S. defenceman Bode Wilde takes that to a new literal level. Quite aside from the easy pun, Wilde fits the bill. Four of our surveyed scouts had him top 20, four had between 40 and 60. Wilde is No. 25 on the TSN list. It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway, he could go higher or lower than that.
  7. Who would you have that is 100% going in Round 1? The obvious are: Dahlin, Svechnikov, Zadina, Hughes, Dobson, Wahlstrom, Tkachuk, Bouchard, Boqvist, Kotkaniemi, Valeno, Hayton, Smith, Farabee, Denisenko, Kravtsov, Kupari Anyone else?
  8. If Wingnutt's rankings hold true, I'd think that the Sabres would have an easy decision at 32 with Berggren Started doing some investigation on Nils Lundkvist today. Sounds intriguing at 32 as well, RD known for his puck moving skills. Another riser on a lot of draft boards.
  9. I dont think that ROR can get us a top 8 pick straight up with his contract. Though, maybe its part of a bigger deal that takes a contract off of the Canucks that they don't particular want.
  10. More on Berggren https://dobberprospects.com/jonatan-berggren/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  11. I totally agree, I would even be more specific and say we need a RHD but then I look at the depth for wingers. Is it much better? Merkley has the talent but not the head. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't even on the Sabres draft board. McIssac and Alexeyev both good players but I don't think bring enough offensively to be more than a mid to late 2nd rounder...plus they both shoot left. Though, it looks like a lot of draft publications do rank McIsaac in the 20's. IF things go right, Sabres should be able to write in Dahlin and Guhle as top 2 LHD for years.
  12. i re-watched his shifts in the Sweden vs Finland semi final U18 game and he was easily Sweden's most dangerous offensive player. Good skating, relied on him to make the zone entries, not afraid of going to the net and great vision. as mentioned, he could go as early as 15 but you never know. Though I wasn't really paying attention to him, as I just watched PP's and Berggren's Shifts but one player that stood out (besides the Kakku and Kotkaniemi) was Niklas Nordgren 5'9 RW from Finland. Im surprised he measured in at 5'9 as he looked bigger. https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/nhl-entry-draft-picks-2018/2018/6/9/17437086/niklas-nordgren-2018-nhl-draft-prospect-profile-stats-highlights-video-analysis-scouting-report
  13. Jonatan Berggren could fit that description. Could be taken late Rd 1. Plays RW/C and shoots left. Someone from one of,the draft sites compared him to BRayden Point https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/274796/jonatan-berggren
  14. I have a couple of Merkley games saved and rewatched his shifts again this morning Skating - speed, elusive and shifty. His passing is fantastic, always on the tape, including a stretch pass from his own red line that creates a break away. If he gets his head screwed on he could be an elite offensive dman. Then after reading all the articles about his nonchalant play and bad attitude, it makes me wonder if he is even on the Sabres draft board. I do believe there is a chance he will be there at 32, though will NYR pass 3 times on him in Rd 1? If he is, I would look for JB to trade down a couple of slots and let someone else take him.
  15. I like Woo but 32 is too high for him IMO. Not dynamic enough offensively. Though I have seen him ranked in top 32 on a couple of lists Someone high up on the Sabres list will be available at 32 as guys slip
  16. Top Wingers possibly available at 32: 1) Jesse Ylonen,6'0 167lbs RW 2) Kirill Marchenko 6'3 187 RW 3) Niklas Nordgren 5'9 169lbs RW 4) Martin Kaut 6'2 176lbs RW 5) Serron Noel 6'5 205lbs RW 6) Filip Hallander 6.175 188lbs LW 7) Cole Fonstad 5'10 160 lbs LW 8) Sampo Ranta 6'2 199lbs LW
  17. Powerful stride. Svechnikov will be a stud.
  18. From McKeens draft preview. Brought a smile to my face
  19. I would probably roll the dice on him . He has top 10 talent and you could really use a RHD in the prospect pool.
  20. Ryan Personality Issues? Ryan Merkley Though speculation is that the Rangers won't pass on him 3 times in round 1.
  21. Really liking what I've been reading about Dellandrea. Here is the final 31 from ISS. https://www.isshockey.com/iss-top-31/
  22. IF the Sabres turn things around and win a cup in 5 years with Eichel. Will it still have been the wrong theory in your eyes? Giving the 2012 Sabres some repairs, would be equivalent to putting lipstick on a Pig.
  23. Until Eichel retires, the patient is still alive.
  24. lets hope SJ gets old really fast. Just miss the playoffs in 2019 and then become one of the leagues worst in 2020.
  25. Odds are high the #Oilers deal their 10th overall draft pick this June because whatever teenage defenceman is available at that spot is probably 2-3 years away from playing in the #NHL http://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/edmonton-oilers/edmonton-o If this is true, any interest in dealing a LHD man for the 10th pick? Would trading Scandella and pick 32 get it done? would leave you Dahlin, McCabe, Guhle and Pilut on the left side. Ig
