yes, sad with all those draft picks they acquired, depth should not have been an issue
-
ESPN just released their top 10 prospect pipeline with 6 honorable mentions and no site of the Sabres. Accurate or Fake news?
-
Here is how Svechnikov has faired Vs some of the other top prospects coming out of OHL in last few years Svechnikov's 27 even-strength goals in 43 games is quite impressive for EV goals/game pre-draft from OHL, since 2003: 0.70 McDavid 0.63 Svechnikov (youngest of these top 7, entering draft) 0.62 PKane 0.57 Tippett 0.56 Seguin 0.55 Tavares 0.53 Fabbri #NHLDraft

Moving on from Vanek and Miller and landing Eichel would seem to be a huge win to me
-
all I know is when Eichel, Mittelstadt, Svechnikov (or whomever they get this year) and Reinhart are leading this team to the play-offs in another year or two, I will give two Molson Canadians how the Sabres got them on the roster.
-
so if you are naturally just inept then you deserve the accolades when you land players like Crosby,Malkin and such but if you actually plan to sell off your over paid- non producing players from your mediocre hockey club then you are vilified?
-
what was the purpose of the tank? if it was to acquire top end talent then yes it worked. The rebuild is where we've gone off the tracks but don't forget - Rome wasn't built overnight. Just like how the Penguins and the Black Hawks have asterisks next to their names as stanley cup champions. Will you put one next to the Leafs if/when they win one?
-
Again big IF but if the Sabres land Dahlin with Dahlin, Risto and Borgen /Nelson as the RHD and Guhle, Scandella, McCabe on the LHD are they a play off team next year? or too young and another year away?
-
Kris Baker brought this up yesterday on Twitter: Top priorities for the Sabres are to sign Borgen (Sabres property) and Brickley (Top college UFA). I think they would have to guarantee roster spots for both players to get them to sign. IF they are successful, here is the Depth Chart (alphabetical order) LHD RHD Antipin (RFA) Borgen Brickley Bogosian Guhle Nelson McCabe Risto Scandella Beaulieu again a big if, but if this is where the Sabres stand, I buy-out Bogosian and bury Beaulieu in Rochester. Maybe flip McCabe for a LWer. Then when the Sabres land Dahlin.....
-
I can't imagine them passing up Svechnikov if drafting at 2. you don't see it often but maybe a trade back? Even being at 3 at passing up Zadina would take some brass ones. However, if the Sabres can get Brickley to sign as a college UFA and Borgen to come as well. that could change things drastically.

Watching the Preds tonight and seeing how they literally play the way the Sabres want to, wave after wave of all 5 players attacking at high speed, I'm starting to think the Sabres draft board could have a dman in the 3,4,5 and 6 slots 1) Dahlin 2) Svechnikov 3-6) some combination of Hughes, Boqvist, Bouchard and Dobson
-
Name to watch over next few days is Sebatian Vidmar from Union. Season ended last night and is thought to be one of the top 5 college UFA's. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=30188
-
MInnesota down to 95%
-
That's exactly why i sleep well at night, knowing that there are 7 or 8 guys available this year. Still would like to see them draft as high as possible of course. But the difference between 4 and 8 is minimal.
-
Lets try again, Jonny Tychonic highlight package I've put together. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=281730 He is considered a late 1st, early 2nd round prospect. Committed to University of North Dakota. https://youtu.be/YleuA-841Z0

oops, Olofsson
-
watching the Dahlin vs Boqvist matchup this morning and also get to see Olofsson play. He has 2 goals so far as Frolunda leads Brynas 8-3 with 4 mins to go. Both goals in close with accurate wrist shots.
-
Frolunda is playing Brynas this morning. its in the 2nd period and Im not sure I've seen Boqvist on the ice as of yet. Doesn't usually play more than 4 minutes a game in SHL. Johnny Tychonic Spotlight

w I honestly think that Murrays biggest mistake was putting Nylander in the AHL well before he was ready Trading away the 1st rounder for Lehner was really poor but potentially ruining the 8th pick overall is worse
-
Please give the Sabres a top 2 pick! More Svechnikov https://mobile.twitter.com/ohlhockey/status/972180745300004864
-
Injuries and playing against men when he wasn't physically ready for it. No reason to give up on Nylander, we can just go revisit the posts from those who gave up on Reinhart to see how wrong we (fans) can be.

Sportsnet March Rankings https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sportsnets-2018-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings-march/sn-amp/?__twitter_impression=true I'd flip Svechnikov and Zadina but otherwise looks about right I'm still hoping the Sabres draft as high as possible but the reality is that the Top 9 look like difference makers in this draft

Sergachev 2G 1A tonight. Season total - 40 GP. 37G 27A
