  1. Time to step back and remember this team finished dead last in 18/19. They are about where a majority of fans would expect them coming into the season. They have two franchise type players in the most important positions next year should see a big step forward from both Dahlin and Mittlestadt. 2 more big time pieces still need to be added They need to bring in one of the top UFA forwards and make another trade from someone trying to unload salary Add those 2 pieces and get more from Dahlin and Mitts Next year should easily qualify for playoffs sucks to see them fall off this season but it’s not all doom and gloom
  2. If Mitts can play like he did last night consistently —there is your 2C. It’s a big IF I know.
  3. Would you trade San Jose's 1st rounder for Duchene, maybe include a Mid Level prospect. Knowing that he will not re-sign with Buffalo.
  4. Do you Do you think there is any possibility that they want to trade Scandella and are worried that benching him would hurt his value. Though, you could argue that his value would be higher in the press box than it is after making that pass. But he does kill penalties and a team who struggles or needs depth for a playoff run may still value him.
  5. I'm not sure I want to blame Hutton at all for lasts night debacle but it seems he's let in at least 1 softy per game lately. If they fall to a place where the Play-offs are unlikely, I really hope we see more Ullmark and give the "prospects" in Roch at least a taste of the NHL. Where they can get a better idea of the speed at which the game is played. So they can prepare for next season.
  6. you spelt Pominville wrong
  7. What to do with Pominville? I know he deserves respect but there is no way he should still be in the line-up.
  8. anyone who's watched the Amerks have any issues with the way Nylander has played this season? I've seen about 8 Rochester games on AHL live and he seems to be working pretty hard for the most part. He's won puck battles, he seems to have the confidence to carry the puck and I've seen him set up his team mates with some pretty nice passes. His last goal, he had a tip in standing in front of the net. Then followed up with the sweet Shoot out winner that im sure most people have seen on highlites. I can almost guarantee he would bring more to the team than Pominville does.
  9. honestly, if you didn't look at the boxscore would you even know if Pominville played or not? brings absolutely nothing to the team IMO. I'd waive him before I waived Ellie Did we just go 3 years of find Jack some wingers, now he has them and we want to strip him of them?
  10. speed I think every game ive seen him create a chance or two with his speed. Unfortunately, his finishing hasn't been too great. Id take him over Pominville who doesn't create anything on the 3rd line.
  11. Can you name any potential centers who "could" be available and would be worth giving up a 1st rounder for?
  12. Excellent Post!
  13. this is a terrible take - Depth is the key reason why Buffalo is behind Toronto and Tampa
  14. plus they aren't going to be able to keep a lot of their depth once Matthews and Marner get their new deals. They lose Gardiner and who's going to replace him?
  15. music to my ears. Keep the picks, unless you do what the Sharks did with their pick - 1st round only if Sabres win the cup.
  16. try spending the day working with a handful of them!
  17. ps. it was right
  18. you cant be serious!?
  19. this may be true but there is no way Toews (im assuming this is who you mean) is waiving his no-movement clause to come to the Sabres. There would be a possibility of Kane doing so. Lebrun on Insider Trading was talking about the Hawks and said a Kane / Toews are legacy players, they will only be traded if they go to mgmt and ask to be traded. If this were to happen it wouldn't be until summer. Case closed for now.
  20. I actually don't mind thinking about the idea of acquiring him but there is no way im giving up all that. I think the Sabres would be doing the Hawks a favour - it clears tons of cap space for them and allows them to bottom out (aka Tank). Plus, he has a NM Clause and may only waive it to come home to Buffalo. I think he should come relatively cheap.
  21. I dont agree at all. I would agree if he had 9 points and was a minus 10 But he is a minus 1 playing tough minutes against players must more experienced than he is.
  22. from what I've seen over the last few weeks, I think Nylander should be first to come up. I think he is doing most everything they've asked for from him. Maybe not showing up on the scoreboard as much as I'd like but I think he shows as much skill as anyone and as much speed as everyone not named Bailey. However, Nylander isn't going to solve the problem they having at center. No doubt Mittelstadt has a lot less points that what most would expect but he is still only a minus 1. I would have thought he'd have at least double the points but a liability on D. I still feel the points are going to come for him, though The real problem is the bottom 2 lines - Erod, Larrson, Bergland et all are literally killing them. Same ole' story of lack of depth.
  23. I like they took Okposo off the 1st PP unit. I still believe that Dahlin will the QB1 sooner or later (hopefully sooner) Im actually quite pleased with Mittlestadt so far, he doesn't seem to be a liability against some of the top Centers in the league. Eventually the points will come.
