A lot of coasting out there. I hope Lindy benches him tomorrow night.

Ott and Weber are supposed to be best buds, right? You are grumpy. -

Sorry if this was already discussed, but did anyone catch (and hopefully explain) why Foligno seemed to miss a few shifts back to back in the 3rd? -
Somebody please tell Rob Ray it's "saw" not "seen"

Yeah, it reminds me of sitting around with my uncles. I don't mind it. -
Going back to watch this again, I'm gonna say Scott.

That's a euphemism, right?

DirecTV seems to have em all in HD.

It's weird watching Roy complain in another sweater.

Interesting note for all those going to the game today (and at all this season.) http://tonawanda-news.com/columns/x1746080602/Beware-where-you-buy-your-beer-at-arena -
This is twitter, right? https://twitter.com/angryziggy

True, but is it really a big deal to send Ellis down to Rochester until (if) we actually need him? I'm not saying all season, just for a week or two until we can trade a d-man.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/13/sports/hockey/nhls-sprint-of-a-season-includes-pitfalls.html Not sure if anyone caught Lindy's comments on WGR earlier this week (Monday?) where he mentioned possibly moving towards a three line rotation with some specialists. It seems counter to the premise of this article, it will be interesting to see how it plays out (and if Lindy is just blowing smoke.)

Can we keep 9 d-men to start the season without sending any forwards down? Here is who I came up with for forwards from the Sabres site. I added Hecht and Grigorenko and left off Gerbe and McCormick since they are injured (I am assuming they don't count against the roster limit.) Matt Ellis Tyler Ennis Marcus Foligno Cody Hodgson Patrick Kaleta Ville Leino Steve Ott Jason Pominville "C" John Scott Drew Stafford "A" Thomas Vanek "A" hecht grigorenko

I was trying to figure out if the Centre Ice package is really worth it to me. At first I was thinking at $60 I was definitely going to get it, but after doing some looking into the schedule, I found that of the 48 games, 21 should be already televised in my market of NYC / NJ Metro area (based on free preview, national games, and games against NYI, NYR and NJD.) So ~ 2.22$ per game, of which, I'll probably realistically watch about half (we have a new baby) which makes it ~ 4 dollars per game. Which means I will probably wait to see how they do during the free preview before committing to anything.

Ok - I think I was out of the country during that first round, and just assumed it was only on the old VS.
-
I was talking about playoffs.
-
It really sucks, because I have NBCSN (and pay for it) but I doubt they'll be carrying the Sabres unless they're playing one of the local teams (or on the rare night when it's the only game on.)
-
I wonder if most satellite / cable providers will be providing a free week to open the season (as in years past)? Also, I saw that Center Ice does not include playoff games (I think)is that right? It would suck to spend even 60 bucks on this and then not get to watch every Buffalo playoff game (I'm in NJ, so there are lots of other teams that take priority in local scheduling.)

I was just going to ask if anyone knew who from Rochester was coming for the scrimmage. It's a good opportunity for those guys, maybe Adam actually (finally) shows something. I'm disappointed (but not surprised) that they didn't opt to give Zemgus a taste tonight. It sounds like Flynn has been playnig a solid game since his arrival, so glad to see him involved.
-
Yeah, I just don't see them keeping him up, but we'll see.

1. Darcy says lots of things. 2. I don't think Pardy is better than Ehrhoff, Leopold, Myers, Regehr, Sekera, Sulzer, or Weber.
-
You got Pardy'd.
-
Yeah, I was thinking in the neighborhood of 4 - 5 million a season, maybe for 3-4 years? That way, he's got some incentive to produce, and we have limited risk for just a few seasons

I think I'm in the minority (or maybe a singularity?) that feels that Semin wouldn't be so bad at the right price. If he's really so bad for team chemistry, you just send him to Rochester and he'll cry and go back to the KHL. On the right wing of Vanek, you have a top line that can put the puck in the net a lot.
