I haven't looked at analytics, etc... but does anyone else feel like the combination of Jost / Mitts / Olof seems to be bringing out some better hockey in each of them? I feel like in the Boston game and again last night Mitts has had a lot more possession, and done more with it.

Welcome back, go score some goals

Yeah, tradition isn't really the right word. He literally donated the trophy that is used, it's hard to rename that. Like if you pay for your alma mater to build a new teaching hospital after you, they don't get to rename it until they tear it down and build a new hospital. And while a trophy is easily enough replaced, does anyone really want to do that in this case?

There is still a ton of hockey left.

The thing is, every half full glass is also half empty. Both viewpoints are correct. -

How could any of us really know - you have to assume a GM (especially someone as drive and competitive as KA) is actively working towards making the team better every single day. But a GM's job on most days isn't visible, beyond the production of the players, coaches and staff that he's hired.

I tend to listen to the morning show most days, and to me it seems when they have something to talk about with the Sabres (for example on a morning like today) they will, especially if it's positive. I think everyone over there is kind of burned out (or maybe recognizes that the audience is burned out, rightfully so) on negative talk about the Sabres, so during a losing streak, or after blowing a lead, they'll mention it and move on. As a Bills and Sabres fan, I'm ok with the ratio right now.

And 3 others are out injured? The guys who are playing are borderline NHL / AHL guys, which is kind of what you expect when you're playing your 7th man and 2 call ups. Anybody more accomplished is going to push out the young guys from needed playing time, they're not going to be able to stash solid NHL defensemen in the AHL.
