Is it safe to say JBOT is waiting for FA to shakeout before making any trades? If we bring in a player or two in FA we're going to have too many roster players on the team and will need to jettison some of them, right? Oloffson replaces Pommers and other than that there's no turn-over. I guess you could easily waive Elie, Sobotka, and Wilson. I suppose patience is required. We know JBOT needs and wants to make changes to the roster. I just hate being patient and there's been a lot of activity across the league and I don't like feeling we're getting left behind in the dust.

If memory serves correct he was a waiver wire pick-up when Wilson broke his ankle during training camp, correct? I'd imagine he'd be Rochester bound and would only come up for injuries? Ugh, I'm playing in a hockey tournament this weekend and my first game is at 8:10 pm today, so I'm going to miss most of the first round and hopefully turn my phone on to see an avalanche of trades. Fingers crossed JBOT does something.

I have very little knowledge about any of the draft prospects, why doesn't Spencer Knight make sense? Is he way off the board? Does that indicate a trade down scenario? Edit: A quick google tells me he's the 16th ranked skater and is a goalie. Part of me now wants us to take him at 7 to watch this board implode :)

I was confused by this before I realized there was a second line. An 8 figure contract for a goalie is a sound idea.

I am whelmed by this news. I do t think this team will ever be good with both of these two on the roster. They're infected with "tank stink" and need a change of scenery. Hopefully they're part of a package in a trade.

I don't get the hate for Vesey. He was dead set on being a free agent and had every right to explore that option. The anger should be directed towards GMTM for the complete waste of an asset (yes a 3rd round pick is a slim shot) but was just a continuing trend of asset mismanagement by this organization. I'm curious to know what the exchange would be for him? His 17 G would was more than any Sabres not named Jack, Sam or Jeff last season.

Agree. I can picture several instances where he connected on one-timers on the PP and was just a little off, either shooting wide or into the goalie. He probably should have had another 5 goals from last season on those PP one-timers. Also, I think the real question we need to be asking ourselves is, "How many 100 point seasons will he have in his career?" I'm hoping at least 15

I looked at Dahlin's game logs for last year and broke them out into roughly 12 game chunks: Not counting the 1st twelve games where he was finding his rhythm, his ppg average from game 13-82 was .57 ppg. To hit 60 points he'd need to increase his output by ~2 points for each 12 game block. For him, I think that will be no problem at all.

If Kruger can come in and fix the damn power-play then Dahlin is going to shatter 60 points.

The problem is we have about half of our forward core that belong as the 4C/Ws on this team (Larsson, Girgensons, Sobotka, Wilson, Okposo, Erod). We have a glut of mediocrity and that's why we suck.
