I like the idea of Risto for Ehlers but I think that's a pipe dream for Sabres fans and will never happen. There was an article in the Athletic addressing the Sabres scoring woes today and at the end of the article there's a chart that shows 5v5 expected Goal For Rates and WPG is dead last at 1.92 (Sabres are only 3 teams above that at 2.14). I don't see the Jets jettisoning one of their better scores when they're even worse at 5v5 scoring than we are. I am fully prepared to be underwhelmed by any trade that's made to try to "fix" the team. The optimist in me thinks I might simply be whelmed by a trade.

I selected other because why not? Whatever he does, he needs to "win" this trade (and by win I don't mean fleece his partner, rather the assets coming in actually improve the team, both teams can win a trade imho). His biggest trade, ROR, was a massive loss for the team. Since then he's played it safe with his trades. Risto is a massive chip and he needs to get a return that has immediate impact on the team (in a positive way)

JBOT has to do something to address the scoring on this team, right? Last year it was painful to sit around watching him do nothing. We can't have a repeat of last year. The difference is we have assets on the back-end to hopefully make something happen.

The Sabres looked awful yesterday. Will they look awful again today? Tampa is the home team so they'll have last change. Will there be any response to the dirty hit that injured Sobotka. Can this team score? With Vlad out will we see shuffled lines? I personally want to see Jack and Jeff together to spark to offense. Answers to all these questions, and more at 1 pm edt.

I feel bad for saying this but the brightest spot for this game was that Sobotka is no longer on the 2nd line for the time being.

The past 3 or 4 games have not entertained me. Zero goals vs. the Islanders. Blown out by the Caps. Outshot 2-1 by the yotes. Heavily outshot today.

The worst part is, these games are barely entertaining. The Sabres hockey is so meh.
