  1. What's the difference between watching Sabres hockey and looking at another dude's butthole?
  2. So it looks like the NHL is doing a 24 team playoff thing....and the Sabres still can't qualify...MTL edges us out for the last spot by 3 points. Whose a good scapegoat to blame for those three points? Hutton for not being able to win a game for 3 months? Skinner for not scoring goals? JBOT for building a ***** team?
  3. If you look close enough you can see the Giraffe's butthole. That's also how I feel about Tage.
  4. I can't see Johan being a Sabre next year. Not because Botts doesn't want him but because he's a free agent and has a choice now. Why would he re-sign here?
  5. If it's a possibility, I'm all for it. Would be a boost to the local economy at the very least.
  6. My dad used to take me to roller games...I think at the UB campus, I think the Buffalo team has a pterodactyl on the logo? Brings back good memories. Last summer I bought a pair of Marsblades to help me work on my ice skating....I have no idea how these guys get up to speed and then slow down. Stopping is not easy on those things.
  7. Watching the youtube stream....crazy to see how into the fans are compared to...now or the last decade.
  8. Another season for the Amerks without a playoff win...
  9. It gives the Sabres a change to make round 2? Sign me up!
  10. Man, watching those videos brings me back. This team needs to figure its ***** out ASAP.
  11. Wasn't the one game he dressed in whichever arena doesn't have room for the back-up goalie on the bench so they're forced to sit all alone in the zamboni entrace?
  12. Last year was essentially his rookie year (even though his stats show he played 20 games in the 15-16 season??? i have zero recollection of that, but, to be fair i think we've all tried to block that out) and I always thought people were being a bit hard on Linus, forgetting that he was indeed a rookie (since he's been a part of the organization for years now). Looks like in 37 games last year he had a .905% and 3.11 GAA This year, in 34 games he's posting a .911% and 2.69 GAA, so he appears to be trending upwards and the eye test tells me he's more in control and collected in the crease. I'm expecting him to continue to improve. How much? Who knows, goalies are ***** weirdos. If I'm Botts, I'm brining in a 3rd goalie to camp, someone who used to be a bona-fide starter but is not moving into a back-up role at this stage in his career (think Ryan Miller in Anaheim) to provide some competition. We then waive Hutton and send him to Rochester. Then, when an injury inevitibly strikes you can call up Hutton so you have a better option than Jonas Johannson. Not ideal to be burning that kind of money on a goalie in Rochester, but that's what happens when you sign a career back-up to a 3 year contract...another big whiff for JBOTT. In summation, to answer your question of "how good is linus ullmark?" , I'd say he hasn't reached his full potential and we'll see him get better.
  13. That Dahlin attempt was awesome. Love it. Kahun had a nice move as well, I'd rather have him over Sheary& Erod 100 times over. Never lost faith in the team for a second. I we win out, just gotta win the next 13 straight and maybe have a shot at playing meaningful hockey in April
  14. Not sure if I agree, i think a real 2C is more important than replacing Hutton at this point. Ullmark is servicable, and we should waive Hutton and bring in a veteran back-up who used to be a starter but is at the tail end of his career who can be a good mentor for Linus (think what JBot did with Hutton originally, but someone who, you know, was an actual starter at one point). If we send Hutton to Rochester, it then means we have a semi-capable goaltender to call up as a back-up when we hit an injury at the goalie position. Special Teams also needs a huge upgrade. I'm hoping Steve Smith does not come back.
  15. Looking at the remaining 14 games....I'll be shocked if this team can get 4 more wins. I'm also curious how long this losing streak will run through. Can we hit 10 games? Will they lose out? Just how far will they drop in the standings? I think it's impossible it "catch" Detroit, but it's looking like they could finish anywhere 2nd last - 4th last. If they somehow land the lottery and get the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick, do you take that pick or try to flip it for immediate help at 2C?
  16. I'd take JBOTS cap management and propensity for ***** depth forwards and overstocked D, GMTMs asset management and Darcy's over valuing of his own players.
  17. As many minutes as he had goals in the first half of the season.
  18. How many total points will Sheary & EROD put up tonight? I'm guessing at least 3.
  19. The peepee slap heard round the league...
  20. I'll be surprised if the Sabres can win 4 of their remaining 16 games. Looking at the schedule, there's no way they even sniff 80 points. But hey, we almost had meaningful March games, so that's progress.
  21. It's amazing that team that had 6 or 7 pending UFAs, whose not qualifying for the playoffs has, what, a conditional 4th round pick and the rights to Kahun after the season ends? #assetmanagement
  22. If Toronto beats San Jose tonight we'll be 14 points out of a playoff spot.
  23. I don't understand why any UFA, especially the ones who have been trapped here for years, would willingly re-sign here. The only way I see that happening is if JBOTS severely overpays them to do so, which would be another addition to the heap of fireable offenses.
  24. I hate when skilled players play down in lower divisions and just dominate. Where's the fun in that? On an aside, it's got to be really tough to be the one of the best players at your sport in the world, playing a game you've loved your entire life. And then you retire. What's left? Do high level beer leagues even compare? I guess you start coaching and pass your love of the game on in that way?
  25. As much as I'd like to see JBOT canned, i think his long term plan was to treat this off-season as the overhaul since we have so many contracts set to come off the books (Hunwick, Sobotka, Bogo, Frolin/Scandella) similar to what Beane did with the bills in McDermott's second season. I think this was the "vision" he sold the to Pegulas which is why he's got such a long leash. However, the lack of improvement is disturbing. Mostly all of the forward talent he's brought in have been small swings and big misses (Vesey, Frolik, every non-draft pick piece of the ROR trade, Sheary, Skinner looks bad and that contract is going to hurt in a few years, the Reinhart bridge was mistake IMHO). His defensive philosophy was also a head-scratcher. I've never seen a team have to dress 7 D and 11 F, which I believe caused unnecessary tension in the room and never let the D get comfortable with their roles. I think he gets one more off-season for the sake of continuity and being able to start to work in his draft picks to build his "vision" as most of middling players he's brought in have been "placeholders", but he certainly doesn't deserve it. My guess is he gets fired in 10-11 months when we're in the same place next year, outside of the playoff picture, but not too far off, just need to string together a few wins and we collapse just like we are doing now.
