I was considering making hte drive out to the Island for the afternoon game, but then I realized I have a 5:30 game myself and the brand of hockey I play is still a better entertainment factor than the Sabres provide, unfortunately.

Special teams are dooming us. Ralph needs to give the power play unit a day off and instruct them to take a few hits of acid, re-wire their mindset and unwind a bit.

Agree. People were really down on Ullmark last year, but that was his rookie year (despite him being in the organization for what feels like forever, which reading up means 2012, so 7 years of development so far!). As a rookie I expected him to struggle but also improve this year, which seems to be the path he's following. Goalies are weird and take a long time to blossom. I see a lot of chatter about "when is 6K going to be on the Sabres" but I'm more interested to see what Ullmark's ceiling is since we've been watching him for so long.

This is a big game...the Sabres are only 1 point above Tor & MTL and two above Tampa...we need to keep putting up points and stay in the top 3 in the division. Luckily MTL lost something like 7 in a row and Toronto / Tampa have not performed as expected.

With KO & Erod back, they've sent Dea to Rochester and I guess Asplund would be the 13th forward? However, it seems to me EROD has been in the doghouse all year so I wouldn't be surprised if Asplund stayed in and Erod rode the bench. He hasn't looked good this year, has he? I can't remember him doing much of anything when he's been in the lineup.

Yeah, I'd take Hall for the kind of package that brought in Skinner, however, I don't think theres a NMC clause hindering Hall's movement and a team looking to make a deep run would pony up a bigger package than what the Sabres would offer.

There is zero chance Hall will sign here. He's already set for life money wise and will get paid regardless of where he signs, which will be a team that's a perennial playoff contender. He wants to play meaningful hockey. Also, hard pass on Hall. If we're going to throw money at a UFA whose contract will take them well past their prime that player better have some ***** playoff experience, or is Botteril trying to assemble high skilled players with the least amount of playoff experience in the league (Bogo, Skinner, Eichel, Hall)?

I wish Krueger would stick Jeff with Jack, not all the time, but when we're in the 3rd period and either need a goal to win it or tie it,f'n play them together! I also wouldn't mind seeing Mitts playing with Skinner. Maybe that's the boost he needs to take his game to the next level?

Eichel is definitely entering the "elite" stage of the NHL. The only thing I need to see from here on out is consistency through the rest of the season. I just looked at the NHL stats and Jack is #7 in the league with 35 points. Top 4 scores are McDavid, Draisaitl, Marchand and Pasternack. Those pairs play together and are padding each others stats. Ovetchkin and Carlson are also in the top 10 and I'm guessing they've combined for a bunch of spots. That leaves Mackinnon, Eichel, Kane and Panarin as the only other players in the top 10 doing it by themselves....that's elite company right there.

Please score a power play goal. It's unfathomable just how bad it's been. 1 for 37 has to be one of the worst stretches in league history, no? Anyone who knows how to pull these stats let us know what's the worst stretch ever? Are we close? Who had the worst power play in the regular season?

Hutton needs to have that. Ugh.
