I don't hate this trade...feels too little too late but he does seem to be an upgrade over Erod, Vesey, Sheary, Wilson, Mitts, Sobotka? Here's a 15 minute highlight video of him from the 17/18 season - looks like he can score shorthanded , make passes, read the play well and also throw his body around a bit. I know the highlights only show the good stuff so I'm not sure how consistent he is, but it seems like an upgrade to the current roster. Dreger says JNOT isn't done either, so here's hoping more help is on the way.

Has there been an update on Tage Thompson? Monday will mark 7 weeks since they said he'd be out 3-5 weeks? I'm guessing he'd be re-assigned to Rochester on a conditioning stint but I'd be curious to see how he works under Kruger + additional AHL seasoning.

This season has not felt dissimilar to the sensation one has when they need to *****, so they go to the bathroom, squat down and contrary to your literal gut instinct, nothing comes out save for a few dribbles of piss and you're left sitting there feeling like Tom Brady (except he at least has the satisfaction of having more superbowl rings than the sabres have playoff wins in the last decade). Despite the phantom poop, you still attempt to wipe because a. you're not a savage and b. just in case something was there. Of course the paper comes out with nothing on it and that disturbing nothingness is how this season has felt to me.

That game was hard to sit through. Felt like the lower bowl was all Boston fans, the arena was a morgue. The sabres literally put my wife to sleep.

This is the one home game I'll be in attendance for this year. I'm guessing, in typical Sabres fashion that after a long break the well rested team will come out absolutely flat for the first two periods and then make it slightly interesting in the third, but too little too late, let in an empty net goal while down two late, bruins win 5-2. Or, Jack, eager to start a newer and better point streak, has a huge game against the Bruins and the Sabres throttle them winning 7-3. Go sabres.

If a player is on a say, 17 game point streak and they're going up a really good team, I'd hope that the fact that they're on a 17 game point streak would be enough confidence to not wuss out like that. "Sorry coach, sit me for this one, I'm not feeling it". I have trouble believing anyone would pull that. Yeah it's a dumb rule, but whatever. If Jack goes out and gets a point next game it will still be 18 consecutive games played with a point (and counting). Who cares what the official record book says as long as he continues to produce?

I was hoping EROD would be out for a bit. It looks like he didn't train at all this off-season and is completely outclassed when he's on the ice. He seems to be chasing/falling down every time I see him on the ice.

I think there's a roster freeze in affect for the holiday break so don't hold your breath on a trade until after XMAS.
