GDT:11-1-2014 Buffalo at Pittsburgh 7PM, MSG B WGR
Mustache of God replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Well, at least we're on pace to shatter the being shut out record. It's good to have goals to aim for. -
I imagine Kaleta will fill that 4th line spot nicely. Coho can use a tougher line mate.

Anyone else notice Myers is listed as being sent to both the Ducks & the Oilers on the "Buffalo Sabres Transactions" tracker on the main page? What's up with that?

Only 3 other teams are scoreless on the Power Play: Rangers, Wild & the Jets. Who will hold out the longest (probably us). Looking over the stats page it's also alarming that the Sabres are dead last in Face-off % at 38.5%. The next team is the Rangers at 44.7 It's gonna be a loooong year. -
What happens to the "bubble" players on the Americans? Do they have farm teams as well that they can call up and down from?

Game discussion thread GDT: Sabres at Huricanes 10-14-14 7:30PM NBCSN

Happy to see Big John Scott pot a puck. It was nice to have those "character" guys to lighten the mood from time to time, lessen the suffering of our team. As it stands now, I don't have a favorite Sabre. I like Zemgus for his effort but that eastern European charisma isn't exactly winning me over. -
I'm shocked at how bad they're playing. Where is the compete? Were they this bad last year, it's hard to think that far back when I've tried so hard to block it from my memory. A quick look reveals this after 3 games last year. 2013 1st 3 Games: Sabres goals: 2 Goals Against: 7 Sabres Shots: 76 Shots Against: 115 2014 1st 3 Games: Sabres goals: 4 Goals Against: 14 Sabres Shots: 57 Shots Against: 131 We've doubled our goal output but have also doubled our goals against. It's gonna be a long season without miller.

I like these 3 p.m. games a lot. Have the game on while I work so I'm essentially being paid to watch the suckfest that is this team. 29-7 shots? Are you kidding me?
-
This'll be a good test to see just how much "compete" this team has to offer. I don't see them winning this and wouldn't be surprised to see them lose by 3+ goals. Go Sabres.

Reinhardt looks like an 18 year old out there. I don't see him staying up here but I do like him having 9 games so he knows where he needs to get to. This team is better with Grigorenko in the line up over Reinhardt.
-
Sorry, Enroth. It's tough to win with this team. How many more 2 on 1s are we going to give up?

I ditched center ice this year and switched to hockeystreams.com stream looks great so far. Sabres look....okay so far. It's nice to see them completing passes so that's a plus.

But also one less Leino. :flirt:

#1 & #3 I chose Grigorenko. He's been dragged through a real $hitparade so far by the organization. I hope he can use that as a chip on his shoulder and be able to compete & produce at an NHL level. #2: Tyler Myers. Everybody here seems to be agreeing with the goalies which I agree with to an extent but for the first time in a long, long time the team is devoid of a goaltender who is going to steal a game for us when all other parts of our game break down. We need Myers to step up to the player he's shown he can be and more importantly paid to be. He needs to set an example to the rest of our D-Core. If he plays confidently it will trickle down to the rest of the team. Personally, I don't think that's going to happen and poor play in our defensive zone by the D & Goalies is what is going to keep us nestled tightly in the bottom of the standings all year. I do predict our offensive to be more productive this year (how can it not be?). I sincerely believe Leino had some sort of kinetic vampirism that sucked the goal-juice from everyone on the team. Getting rid of the waiver scraps and having the younger guys become less young will help as well.

Development camp - Blue & Gold scrimmage
Mustache of God replied to BuffaloBorn's topic in The Aud Club
Any chance we get a GDT from 26cornerblitz today for the scrimmage? -
Don't see anything on Sabres.com but I'll stream the WGR. Thanks, all.

Anyone have an audio or video link to the TM presser @ 4:30?

Looks like we're passing on Conacher: Not too bummed about letting a guy go whose big highlight of the year was wearing John Scott's helmet. The less RFAs/UFAs on the current roster we let go now means we have to bring in fresh meat and that excites me. Good luck, Cory.

Prediction time: What trades will occur on or before the draft?
Mustache of God replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
I wouldn't be upset to see Ernhoff moved but I just don't see it happening. Sure, Murray is saying he's not concerned about reaching the cap floor but if we move Ernhoff then that's another 4 million of cap space we'd need to fill. I think any move that Murray makes will involve us eating up some money from another team. I don't have the time to do the digging but I'm curious as to which teams could use the wiggle room near the cap and are also sitting with an attractive draft pick (low-mid teens?) I have complete faith in Murray, it's refreshing change of Darcy's weasel persona. -
I think it's safe to say we've seen the last of Ville Leino playing in a Sabres uniform. It's clear they don't want him getting injured by the seasons end. I wish the buyout included some sort of public flogging, it's almost criminal he gets to walk away with all that money. That man is set for life and all he had to do was get fired from his job.
