Training camp questions #3: What happens to the power play?Mustache of God replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club You keep the first unit the same. Don't fix something when it's the best. Our second unit will be better as well. Pommer will replace Gionta and Scandella / Antipin / Baloo will work the point which will be an upgrade to....I don't even remember? Franson and Kulikov? Franson and McCabe?

Trading camp questions #5: How good is Sam Reinhart?Mustache of God replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club There's been a lot of talk here giving some players a clean slate now that the DDB shackles have been thrown off. This needs to be applied to Sam as well. I expect Sam to continue to improve. He's never going to be flashy but his presence will be felt.

There is not a chance in hell Duchene will be traded to the Sabres. Aside from not making much sense considering he has 2 years left on his contract and what we'd have to give up to get him, there's still the issue that Sakic wants to use this trade to save face for the ROR disaster that he somehow agreed to. I recall hearing around the draft that he was so stubborn with Duchene because he wanted to make up for that trade. There's just no way, no how that Sakic is trading those two players both to Buffalo

Training camp questions #2: What do we have in Zemgus Girgensons?Mustache of God replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club I have more hope in Bogo turning it around than Girgensons and the idea of him being on Jack's wing does not bode well with me. We need someone with the ability to finish Jack's feeds, like Kane, Okposo, or Nylander (unlikely as it is).

If there's one thing they shouldn't touch it's the #1 power play unit. I expect to see Scandella and Pommers on the 2nd Power Play unit. I can't say I've seen much of him as a player but the natural fit seems to put him on the 1st pairing with Risto and then let the bottom two pairings being rounded out by some combination of McCabe, Bogo, Antipin and Baloo. Gorges can feel important in the corner. This is all dependent upon him not breaking his ass on an open bench door in training camp.

Right, you'd think they'd want to consider their audience of Sabre fans by bringing in one of the most beloved back-up goalies the team has ever had. Also, Biron is an American citizen.

People actually liked May on the broadcast team? I am amazed by that. The guy constantly looked like a deer in headlights on camera and stringing together coherent thoughts seemed to be a challenge for him. I'm happy they're making this change. I don't mind Marty, and I think judging people by their accent is incredibly shallow. Marty seems to at least have a presence, which will be refreshing change to the black-hole of personality that May brought to the broadcast. I always got the feeling that May was there because he wanted to give it a shot. Marty has been working as an analyst/broadcaster for awhile now and the pre/post game show will be better.

I liked the part where the man got hit with the baseball.

I want to sign him solely based upon his name. I think RJ can have some fun with him. Say he scores at home, "THE PERRY STREET BUTCHER STRIKES AGAIN ON THE POOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWERRRR PLAY." My money is not on him signing for reasons mostly being, "because Buffalo". However, I want to see if the Botteril effect is a thing. Clearly he has a plan of having young guns start in the minors and then have them come up and take control when he deems them ready. "Listen Will, this is what we did in Pittsburgh and this was how we won consecutive cups. Do you want to be a part of this here?". So maybe there's something there. I don't see him going to Vegas since they have so many D hanging around. I'm guessing he signs with a team not mentioned.

These trades have tank all over it and listening to Bean's press conference sounder so insincere. "I might have made these trades independently", that's such horseshit. You downgraded the talent on the team in exchange for people to be able to fill in the vacant positions in exchange for draft picks. GMTM sang the same tune about not tanking, etc. I believe the guy above who said Sammy wanted a trade. Can you blame him?

How does anyone keep up with the threads on the Bills version of Sabresspace? They're all 30 pages deep. Who has got time to read through all of that?

Where will Jack Eichel be ranked in overall scoring 2017/2018Mustache of God replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club 1 - It's going to be near impossible to be offensively worse than we were last year. No amount of system changes can make our offense worse. 2 - Housely's system? What do you know about Housley's system? We haven't seen HCPH coach a single game at this point.

Where will Jack Eichel be ranked in overall scoring 2017/2018Mustache of God replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club The bigger question is can he stay healthy for an entire season? If yes, then yes, he can. Jack proved he can play at almost a point per game pace after coming back from the ankle injury. He's also got another year of experience under his belt. If he stays healthy he'll be around a PPG, I'm gonna be optimistic and say 90 points for Jack this year, good for somewhere in the top 5.

I also think it's just a lack of an established top-6 winger. Who else will realistically fit there? It just dawned on me that August is the last full non-hockey month before the season starts. 42 days until our 1st preseason game and 59 days until the puck drops to start the season. Does anyone know when training camp starts?

I've been trying to put together my preferred projected line-up for the past 15 minutes and I'm struggling to put something together that's coherent and satisfying. There's too many extra pieces (Moulson, Girgensons, D-Lo and no solid set of top 6 wingers and it all becomes so interchangeable, add in the prospects who may be ready to make the jump and it becomes even more confusing. Thoughts: - I think D-LO will get waived at some point in the season. - I agree with Liger that Eichel & Okposo should be playing together. I want to see Byslma's concept of "pairs" blown up as it obviously wasn't effective - I also like the idea of Reinhart feeding Pommers as a 3C - Moulson is an anchor in this line-up. He's at the stage in his career where he has to change roles and I haven't seen anything from him that suggests he's going to be able to pull that off - Based on what I've seen from JBOT, I wouldn't be surprised to see rookie talent on the top line or two, however, these will have to be earned and I'm inclined to believe the season will start with as few rookies as possible and they will be called up over the course of the season as injuries occur. Here's two scenarios I mustered up guessing which rookies will make the team out of camp based upon whether or not Reinhart is Centering the 3rd Line: Projection 1: Kane / O'Reilly / Fasching Nylander / Eichel / Reinhart Pouliout / Larsson / Pomstein Moulson / Josephson / Girgensons Projection 2: Larsson / O'Reilly / Baptiste Kane / Eichel / Girgensons Pouliot / Reinhart / Pommers Moulson / Josephson / Fasching

Jack Eichel Contract Extension: Talks OccuringMustache of God replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club He'll get 9.7 million, Jbots way of always reminding him McDavid is better than him and he should work harder to make that statement not true.

How many pushups can Middlestat do?

I can't wait to see this kid play on Eichel's wing. Do NCAA prospects get to attend training camp or does that interfere with school?

I think this is a great signing. 2.4 million isn't that much for a defenseman. His 28 points last year puts him as the #2 defensive scorer on the team and 9th skater overall. The 2 year term is fine, especially as he's still an RFA. This is a great deal for someone we acquired for a 3rd round pick. The board also seems to buy into HCPH being a "D-whisperer" so I think his game will improve as well. What's not to like about this?

Is there anyway to upload an image directly from my computer on this? I consider myself to be somewhat savvy but I struggle, immensely, when trying to post images to this forum. Abstract image of the arsehole of a turkey

It's worth it to shell out the $5-$10 a month for a reliable VPN, I don't have any suggestions because I haven't used one for awhile. When I used to subscribe to gamecenter back in the day you were unable to log in and watch simultaneously from multiple accounts.

I'd gladly pay for NHLtv if the playoffs were included as well. I don't own a TV so even if I wanted to sign up for cable television (which will never ever happen) I don't have the ability to. I'm forced into the Reddit / private facebook streams for the playoffs and regular season and while I can get the games, sometimes it's a hassle, a hassle I'd gladly pay to get rid of if the NHL gave me a chance to pay for it. Ugh, this post is making me think about cable television and I'm getting the shudders. Whenever I go home to my parents I'll throw on the TV and turn it off after 15 minutes. It's beyond me how people can sit through so many commercial breaks.

The idea in my head was geared to the US / International (non-Canadian audiences) because if I remember correctly the Rogers deal is enormous. My dream scenario is that some online giant (like yahoo, twitter, facebook or Amazon, etc.) strikes aggregating local broadcasts where you sign on and just select which feed you want to watch, eliminating National broadcasts like NBC or whatever. I've never turned on a broadcast and thought "oh wow, we get the national broadcast, this is way better". It'd be tough to pull off and would be risky and would probably start by losing a lot of money, but I think if the NHL truly embraced sports for cord-cutters, they could grow the game immensely. They could be pioneers here. This doesn't get around being able to view the playoffs, which in my mind is the whole point of subscribing.
