This feels like a game where they sleepwalk through two periods, make a late push in the 3rd and the game is sealed when Columbus scores an empty net with 43 seconds left in the game.

I was in Columbus two or three weekends ago and go to play a scrimmage on the Blue Jacket's practice rink, which is directly connected to their arena. Great ice and facility.

I'd say Buffalo is in a better place as we have a management system in place, who've had time to lay out and implement their plan/roadmap for the future. Plus we have 3 first round picks this draft. Edmonton is at square one with resetting a plan going forward and they're going to have to tear down some old foundations to pave way for their future.

Last game before an 11 day hiatus where we'll have nothing to discuss around here except some advanced stats and the Justin Bailey trade, so let's make this a good one. A win tonight sets us up for a mid-season push to reestablish ourselves in the Wild Card race. I recall a few years ago, under HCDDB, when we came out of the mandatory break, well rested against a bottom feeder team, a win would have put us just close to competing for a playoff spot and we laid an egg and then went on a protracted losing streak which shut the door on the season. I'm hoping for the opposite of that this year. Here's to Jack having a strong game, Skinner putting another up and a solid victory.

I promise you Jack has worked on that shot hundreds of thousands of times in his life. That wasn't luck. That was pure muscle memory, which is a well honed skill, which is essentially the force.

This team needs to get out of this free-fall in the standings. It can start tonight with a win, and a win in Vancouver. The Sabres of the past decade or so were incapable of any kind of winning streak. I don't think I'll ever like Housley as a coach, but i was willing to live with him the way they were playing in November. If the rest of the season plays out the way December onwards has gone then he better be on the hot-seat as this type of play should be unacceptable.
