  1. That "CLINK" is so damn satisfying.
  2. 8 year max deal, 67.7 million?
  3. Great win last night. I had hockey so I missed most of it and loved what I saw from the extended highlights...minus Scandella, hopefully he can put this one behind him and be better moving forward. I know its EARLY, but, is St. Louis' pick lottery protected? Because that's looking pretty, pretty good right now.
  4. This should be added as rule 7 on the GDT... :)
  5. I agree. Send him down to Rochester and put him on a wing opposite Nylander and tell them to make it work there so they can make it work in Buffalo. Does the team NEED to have 23 on the roster? When is Scott Wilson due back? edit: i googled it, he broke he needed ankle surgery and is expected to be out 8-10 weeks, so sometime in December.
  6. The feeling deep in my plums tells me Casey gets a goal tonight. I'm also hoping to see some more consistent offensive magic from Dahlin but I understand I need to be patient on him. Can the Sabres make it 3 in a row? In the past the team lacked the gumption to play consistent hockey for multiple games, is this team different? Will Housley dropping F-Bombs in practice motivate them to find that next gear and actually show up in the first period? I'm shocked the Canadian have gotten off to such a hot start, all the Canadian teams for that matter are exceeding where I thought they'd be (save Edmonton, losers). I thought Van, Ott, and Mon would be licking the floor of the basement but ~1/8th of the season in and that's not the case.
  7. I recall a time we felt giddy with O'Reilly - Eichel - Reinhart - X as our center depth.
  8. That was a great game to watch last night. Right before Anaheim's 2nd goal when we had that insane shift of sustained possession in their zone I thought to myself "please don't give up a goal on a rush right after this" and then that happened and I was dejected. Was ecstatic to see them rebound with two quick goals after that to tie it up. re: Mittlestadt being sent to the A, I don't see it happening. He was just "promoted" to the PP1 unit, to me that's a tell that he's here to stay for the time being. Tage, on the other hand, he's not going to learn anything being the extra forward so I'd expect to see him sent down. The question there is does anyone get called up to replace him or do they keep 22 players on the current roster?
  9. I get to watch today and so far the only games I've been able to sit down and watch live have been Boston, Colorado, the away Vegas game and San Jose...my hopes are not high. Can they win two in a row? Can they compete with a top-tier team in this league? Can they play a close game? Is secondary scoring something other than whispered myth? The conditions are ripe to see a Miller Shutout on display, which I'd loosely define as a goalie who plays a strong game to let in his 1st goal with less than 5 minutes in regulation on a goal that could be considered a "softie".
  10. Phil Housley is a turd polisher.
  11. I know it's confirmation bias, but every time I read a game preview of a Sabres opponent about how X team is struggling on the power play or X player is on a cold streak, it ALWAYS feels like their woes are instantly solved once they face off against the Sabres.
  12. I've never been able to watch recorded sports. The live aspect of the broadcast is the most exciting thing for me. Once the results are set in stone I find I can't focus on a game once I know the outcome. Anyways, Go Sabres.
  13. Part of me loves these late games, let's me get the day wrapped up and then cuddle up in bed with the Sabres...if it's entertaining I stay up, if they put me to sleep they put me to sleep. Hoping to see some sort of secondary scoring tonight, or primary, I'll take whatever I can get.
  14. I certainly hope Berglund can get it together, isn't he under contract for the next 4 years?
  15. From the verbal lashing delivered by Phil, no doubt.
  16. Nathan Peterman is the Lizard King confirmed.
  17. Nathan Peterman has healed Allen's elbow via prayer.
  18. Anyone know how Olofsson is looking defensively? If he keeps his pace how long will it be before he gets a call up?
  19. My favorite part of these lines are Larsson and Girgensons as the extra skaters. Also love the theory of Casey and Skinner together. Aside from the Erod -> Pommers goal I don't think we've had any offense outside of the top line. We need even strength scoring, and the PP to not go 0-7, and the penalty kill to suck. Hopefully Phil is bag-skating these chumps.
  20. Berglund, Sobotka and Thompson are upgrades over Pouliot, Nolan, Baptiste, Griffith, Josephson, etc.. No, none of them are better than ROR but the addition of upgraded talent throughout the bottom of the roster helps more than having ROR in the line-up without them, attempting to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.
  21. The board seems to be over-reacting to the presence of Larsson in tonight's line-up, but, as a discussion board what other avenue do we have aside from picking apart every detail? My level-headed lukewarm take of the day will be "win or lose, Larssons presence in the line-up will not be responsible for the outcome of the game." In my eyes he's no different than Sobotka or Elie. Do I want him on the roster? No, but I'm not about to crucify Phil for giving him a game at the beginning of the season.
  22. Same here. I know it's early but this is a big game for the team to make the statement "we're not Sabres form last year". Last year, anytime a "big" game came up they came out flat and lifeless and wouldn't show any push until the 3rd when it was too late. I'm really hoping for the opposite of that. Last year it took them 12 games to hit 3 wins, I'd like to see them hit that mark in 4 games. Go Sabres.
  23. I hope Larsson scores twice tonight.
  24. Is Larsson more effective on that line than Nylander?
  25. If Casey & Tage are being relegated to the 4th line they should be in Rochester.
