So... McCabe gives up his number for Pominville? Trading Foligno is one of those necessity things. He's going to be the right kind of player but he was just going to that at the wrong time for the Sabres. I really liked him as a player and I think this move will be a bit rough on him. Do those teams really find a way out of it? I don't think we know that yet. I think teams temporarily find a way out of it but a year or two later they look like they are trending down and into more trouble. The Blackhawks don't look that good. The Kings are struggling. I don't know who else to look at. Given that I think Jagr could teach Jack how to use his body even better than he does (I have commented that I believe they are very similar players) I am all over that idea.

The Penguins are a much more offensive styled team than Arizona who sucked. Possible... people definitely age differently. I haven't watched him play in awhile... but I was thinking that just dismissing him because he's 40 seems to be focused on the wrong metric.

What if Buffalo offers to take on a 1 year bad contract from VGK in exchange for Moulson? Wouldn't it be conceivable that VGK takes Grabovski... then flips him to Buffalo for Moulson? VGK gets a player who can play for some money and the Sabres shorten the time their money is locked up in a bad contract (Grabovski is 1 year left right?) That's just one example, but it comes down a finance exercise to realign committed dollars to the right length of time and player value. Grabovski has no value, but Moulson has at least some.
