  1. All I know is that today, another person learned that it is always...ALWAYS...a bad idea to pick a fight with my wife.
  2. Yeah, we went with the "alternative" appeals process
  3. Soo.... Ollie's caregiver team went into overdrive last night and today. Really circled the wagons to make sure he got what he needed. Turns out the lady that was putting up road blocks wasn't from the School District, but rather from the Ontario Country Board of Public Health. We wouldn't know that, because she never told us her name, let alone where the hell she came from. Over the past 24 hours, a full on assault was levied by 2 speech therapists, an occupational therapist, a special education coordinator, and one very very angry mamabear. Elected officials do not appreciate their appointed bureaucracies creating angry constituents. Ollie will be getting all the things he needs, effective immediately. F'N Fantastic!
  4. This makes me happy, I knew Anthony Fasano personally, he is the shittiest type of person.
  5. I'm very interested in where Toronto ends up odds-wise. If they finish 4th, with a ~10% chance at McDavid...
  6. Oilers have completely blown a 4 goal lead.
  7. interesting... Pommer was 185 when he played here. Looks like he's put on 2 lbs of my sorrow...
  8. To add to this awesome day, it's been one of his worst evenings in a long while. I'm sure the parental stress is affecting him. I'm also relatively certain the scratches on my face will eventually heal. There literally are no other options for Autism in Ontario County. We can't even pay for the services we want on the side, the good therapists are all tied to networks managed by Ontario-Wayne BOCES. All of the decisions today were based on them wanting to save money. If they had unlimited funding, I'm sure we would have gotten exactly what we wanted. There is, but it would take until september, and by then, he'll be in exactly the program we want him to be in.
  9. The Canandaigua School District decided that they know Ollie better than the 3 therapists that have been working with him for the past 12 months and the premier autism medical experts in the region and decided to deny most of our petition to increase his intervention services. The best part is that the chair of the Special Education committee was a complete condescending ass the entire time. So he won't get access to Autism specific services until September, and in the meantime, they're cutting his in-home OT and Speech, and forcing us to change group programs for no reason. She actually added, in the middle of the contentious meeting, "Phew, I'm going to need a drink after this meeting!" You think your job is tough lady? try raising my kid for 5 minutes. [all of the swears]
  10. Never said it couldn't be both legitimate and snide. :P
  11. legitimate reference to said trade.
  12. Makes sense, he likes 'em with curves.
  13. You're bringing stafford back to wear that?
  14. I wonder what it would Take to get them to wear Tokyo Katana jerseys as the thirds.
  15. Interesting, my mom just missed 3 months of work with retinal bleeding that was misdiagnosed as a Vitreous Detachment. She is very myopic, so they drew the conclusion, but it turns out that we don't have really good equipment to diagnose rear-eye issues. I was surprised to find that out.
  16. or this:
  17. I think he'd be surprised by the number of issues you're on the wrong side of as well. :P
  18. I think the primary issue is that news is not the same as editorial content. Editorial content is by definition biased by the viewpoint of the editorial voice. I don't think Shep Smith was "biased" when he was anchoring the news on FNC. But FNC's ratings aren't based on the news, they are based on the editorial shows like Hannity and O'Reilly. Similarly MSNBC is primarily editorial with a rotating crop of liberal drivel. The networks news is mostly (not all but mostly) news. CNN has more editorial content, but is still majority news. FNC and MSNBC are echo chambers of canned editorial reaction to the story of the day. They are, primarily, not news channels.
  19. I think you're referring to this: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=757055&navid=nhl:topheads tl;dr Cal Peterson just set the NCAA single game save record with 87 <<--- NOT A TYPO Edit: Didn't look at the previous page, already discussed, my apologies. Go Irish.
  20. Isn't this the area between the you-know-what and the other-things?
  21. That is awesome!! It is also proof that Lindy has no soul.
