If Adams was in his first year as GM, he would have NEVER EVER made this trade. This move does have panic written all over it and I have zero doubt that it will be painful to see how these two careers are MASSIVELY different.

October and November look to be pretty manageable. If they are out of 8th by December 1, I assume they will be finishing bottom 10 in the league again.

Everyone keeps saying that we need to get a 3rd line center but the silver bullet is a 2nd line center, push Cousins down to 3 and trade Krebs. Offer Krebs, 1st round 2025 pick (unprotected) and a top 3 prospect for a 2nd line center. I wonder if that would be enough.

I know this is a serious question and yes, they are probably better. They will be more entertaining to watch but this is still a bottom feeder in the NHL when you look at the 16 playoff teams. They are still at LEAST a year (and probably more like 2) away from sniffing 8th place. There is a dark cloud over this team and I barely feel any better about this coming year than I have over the last 10. It just sucks to be such a hockey crazy city and have nothing to look forward to year after year. At least they are not getting my money for the upcoming season.

There is absolutely ZERO chance Sabres are getting anywhere near 8th place this year. I need to put a wager on not making top 8 if I can figure out how to do that. Our whole division is just flying further past us. I really don't have any hope for this team unless our goalies both stand on their heads all year.

They just added Tanev and even if they lose in the 1st round again, they will still finish over 20 points higher in the standings to Buffalo.

So Florida is already a powerhouse, Tampa and Boston will be better next year with their new additions, Toronto continues to get better, and who knows about the rest of the bottom dwellers. Where does Buffalo fit in the playoff picture again? Zero chance at a top 3 finish so you add the Rangers and Carolina and hope that Detroit does not add Stamkos. Either way, I think Detroit leaps ahead of us. Two slots for 10 teams - please do something today, please?

This is the last year with Adams so he will force himself to make risky trades. It's going to be like GMTM all over again and the fans will be left with another 10 years of no playoffs and rebuilding. I know this seems harsh, but I just don't see this team 's talent above 5th worst in the league right now. Unless they swing for some massive trades, his life as a GM is over. If these rumors of Detroit getting players like Stamkos and Guentzel are true, we can just line up behind yet another real NHL team making moves and not praying that their own draft picks will save the team. And if they don't pay UPL, and just rely on Levi, they will reach a whole other level of stupid.

Thank goodness Buffalo did not hire Bill Zito after they interviewed him for GM. The kick in the nuts just keep coming with this organization that can never make the right decision.

Guentzel would be one of my top targets for Buffalo but no way does he not end up in Vancouver or Toronto.

They should not do it this year because it does not make sense. That means it's definitely happening because I can't remember the last time the Sabres did anything right, honestly. Nothing they ever do makes sense, it's really quite remarkable how poorly run this org is, brutal.

Worst name, color scheme and jersey logo in the entire NHL. Way to go, wow, talk about a missed opportunity with the Yet and the logo possibilities. Our team might still be one of the worst in the NHL but at least we have a top 3 logo.
