I am pretty sure this organization is broken and there really is no answer. The hiring of Ruff was just wow, a total failure of a publicity stunt aimed to make people feel something again. I see this team as being in the bottom 5 league-wide. Maybe with good goaltending they get to 10th worst in the league. There is nothing left, I mean, there is really nothing left to be hopeful for if you are a Sabres fan. The fan-base is more broken than the team and I really don't see it coming back for years. That building on Thursday is going to be a hornets nest if they are losing after the 1st period.

That means two new players will be in the game for the home opener, that can’t be bad, right?

Well, after not being a season-ticket holder anymore, I was going to at least go to the home opener. You could not give me free tickets at Center ice for that one, holy crap. I am staying away from this team in person.

I have no doubt that this season will be over by December one. I just don’t see anything different on the PowerPlay or offense and it actually looks worse. I fear for these guys if they are losing after the first period for the home opener. It’s gonna get ugly, fast from that crowd.

Coaching won’t help, this is just not a very talented team unfortunately.

This is going to sound over the top but I really don’t think they can afford to lose this game. imagine how hard they will be squeezing their sticks for the home opener facing an 0-3 start.

Jesus Christ, they are the same team as last year. Who gives a crap about shuffling up the bottom six again.

I honestly think they have to trade three of the top six forwards. This team, as it is constructed will never win together.

If they play both games like this, I hope that the entire crowd boos when that team is introduced next Thursday.

The way I see it is that they have ZERO chance to be top 3 in the division so can they get a wildcard, of course. Do I think they will get a wildcard? No. It feels like the Bills 17 year drought and until they get their Josh Allen, it's just spinning the wheels all over again. Eichel was never that Josh Allen due to his personality...

I have seen this song and dance far too many times to have any hope. But, since I finally dropped my season tickets, I am sure they will probably have a great season just to spite me.

Honestly, I would be happy if they were at least within 4 points of 8th when March begins. I don't expect playoffs but at least give me a season where most of the games are meaningful. I can't wait for the day when life is injected back into that sorry building.

I would not have had a captain this year but if it had to be done, he was the ONLY player I would even consider. It's just too bad that now he'll be traded and go win a Cup with someone next year.

I actually wondered today if I am even interested in this season coming up. If this stench has penetrated an absolute die-hard fan, what is the feeling around casual Sabres fans? Not in a MILLION years would I have ever thought so little about a Buffalo sports team. I hope that winning brings back the spark but wow, it's just an absolute shame that this organization has sunk so low. After FINALLY giving up my season tickets, I am sure they will probably make the playoffs. My daughter (who just loves this team) is heading off to college in 4 days and never saw one single playoff game. It's really hard to believe that they have not only been bad, but one of the worst (and most boring) teams for so incredibly long. I don't see any avenue for this team to be better than 500 but who knows, maybe all of the stars align and that arena will actually wake up from the slumber. If these youngsters don't perform this year, it has to be time to go the trade route. Florida has been masterful at that but a capable GM will be needed. Too bad we never interviewed their guy for the job🤣

That usually happens around mid February in this city. Hoping for another solid effort for the last 2 months of the season 🤐

Honestly, because the teams around them are improving a lot faster than Buffalo. If there is even a minor slip-up in goal, this team is buried. The overall defense will have to improve dramatically for them to have a chance at the 8 spot.

I still see the team as bottom 5 in the NHL. I reallllllllyyyyy hope I am wrong but looking at the playoff team rosters from this past year, I don't think they are remotely close.

Time to pay Milano injury settlement and cut him. His career is done in Buffalo, crap.
