  1. How long do you want to hurt?
  2. Good thing you said me and not Randall. He’s not ready to admit he’s me yet.
  3. Stories like these lead me to support taking much of the violence outof the game. I cringe at some of the hits/fights I cheered for in the past. These guys are human. I’m not interested in viewing them as gladiators any more.
  4. Jonathan Martin begs to differ.
  5. Along those lines, back maybe 20-25 yrs ago I was at the Buffalo auto show standing in the concession line and two guys behind me were talking shop. From the conversation I gathered that one of the two was in sales at Sahlen's and he was telling the other that Sahlen's has several grades of dog and that the Sahlen's dogs you were buying in the grocery store were not typically the same as the ones you were buying at a hot dog joint. I seem to recall him saying that there were more than one grade offered at retail and that on sale Sahlen's may not be the same grade as the one's you were getting at higher price during non sales. FWIW
  6. Lima and HFL are right next to each other. It could be either. I work in HFL. It's a looong commute. But I love the job. I frequently have customers in for final acceptance of equipment purchases. There are usually significant production run offs of the equipment. Time is important so I usually order in food for our customers instead of taking them out for lunch. HFL restaurants have very slow service. If I didn't order salads frequently I'd have another 20lbs on the 40 lbs too much frame I'm carrying already. I do miss Guidas pizzas. The single slices were almost 1/4 of a pie. I'm not a fan of HFL distillery's whiskey so I don't stop in. I do drive by it every day on the way home from work, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't look at the place every day and consider pulling in anyway.
  7. Nasty storm rolled through. Interwebs are down. But it did give us an wxcuse to order Chinese for dinner, so there is that.
  8. Apparently you live nearby my employer. Ruck’s makes a mean salad for lunch.
  9. Given the logjam of marginal defensemen on the roster, I wouldn’t be opposed to moving Bowlyou to Edmonton for a bag of pucks, really. Make sure it is communicated to Edmonton that you expect reciprocal treatment some day in the future.
  10. We get Salvatore’s at work. It’s OK. Mark’s has been inconsistent in my opinion. There is a Mark’s not too far from me. When they are on, which is a coin flip, they are on par with Salvator’s. There used to be a Guida’s near work. Their pizza was terrific, but different. Closer to NYC style I think. When we want good pizza we travel south about 30 minutes. Little place in a little village that makes a fantastic Buffalo style pizza. The have a double pepperoni, double cheese pizza that is a bang on replacement for a pizza joint that used to be in North Tonawanda. I forget the name of the joint, but they were known for being over the top with the amount of cheese and meat that they used. edit- Pizza Junction? That might be the one in NT
  11. I’m outside the Buffalo metro area, but still in western NY. Pizza just isn’t the same once you leave the Buffalo suburbs. Outside of a couple of isolated examples, the pizza is just different when you leave metro Buffalo. Ive yet to find pizza In my county that I enjoy as much as I enjoy Buffalo pizza. We travel into another county just to get Buffalo pizza.
  12. I still think Erod = Jason Dawe. We won't be impressed when he moves on and we see that game in a different uniform.
  13. And missed a big chunk of last season to a knee tendon tear. the league isn't getting any slower and he isn't getting any faster.
  14. At his age that could be career ending.

  16. That’s a hell of a morning. The salmon fishery has been on fire this year. And 75ft, eh? They’ll be staging soon. Heck, with this rain we might see a few porpoising at the pier heads.
  17. All the Bond movies. I'm a sucker for Bond movies. Total sucker. Connery is best. Craig is second. Moore third. Let's not discuss the rest.
  18. And we're better for it. This has gone way astray and I'm getting near wind down time.
  19. I hated the moral implications of the tank. But I won't turn my back on them because they made that decision. I turned my back on them because they sucked. When that changes I'll actively watch and root. and still hate the decision they made. What I was cherry picking was a Sabres team that was slowly being sold off (probably closer to 09-10 maybe?). Noone picks that team over 1/2 the teams in the league.
  20. I was referring to the the Sabres post 2007, as in, prior to that season, none of us would have traded our team for Washington's and that was with a prime 1st overall pick on their squad. as for what team would I rather have, I'd have actually watched the last 4-5 seasons if we were Columbus. That pretty much says it all.
  21. I know. and he was considered a loser and a greedy LW until last season. Washington was the east coast SJ Sharks with Ovie until they caught lightning in a bottle.
  22. Until the slide post 2007 Ovie was mocked as a loser and noone here would've traded our team for his. This is like calling a Sabres cup in 2022 the result of a successful tank. So much water under the bridge since Ovie was drafted.
  23. That likelihood is not bore out by the list of 1st overall picks though, so while it sounds like it makes sense it hasn't been seen in actual results with any consistency. Chicago and Pittsburgh both had extended Stanley Cup success on the backs of top picks, but after those two specific teams you can't really point to a top pick directly leading to extended success. Hey freeman, how's this for not continuing to litigate the tank?
  24. Agreed. And we've disagreed on the likelihood all along.
  25. I don't think the bolded is quite correct. At least not in my mind it isn't. The main tank concern in my mind always was that both methods had the same ceiling but the floor for the tank was expected to be lower, and IMO longer.
