Sabres Sign Defensemen Dennis Gilbert and Jacob Bryson
Weave replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I had no idea either. And its not that I am looking to ice a goon, but a guy that can stand up to the toughest guys in the league and be respected is well overdue. Our finesse guys should play with more courage now. -

Well, this makes me feel better. -
Do you think Jacky Robinson was talked about in evey game he played at first? Again, it’s historically significant. Ignoring it is to ignore history being made. I’m not sure how that is relevant. Women can’t compete physically on the ice. Lots of folks that couldn’t compete on the ice managed to be excellent coaches. This is the first time one happens to be female.

Sabres Draft #14: Konsta Helenius, 5'11" 189lb Center

Like a frog placed in a cold pot and the burner turned on. -
From who’s perspective?

After the Leino and Hall debacles, I fully expect that there are firm, unrelenting orders from the Grand Meddler that there will be no more hesitant players on this roster.

I don’t wanna leave it be. Store Christmas decorations in September. only kidding. Sort of. Im not gonna dissuade conversation even if I could.

It’s every bit as historic as Jacky Robinson. Or Alex Mogilny. They SHOULD be bringing it up frequently. When the 2nd female coach gets hired, if they are still bringing it up constantly maybe, maybe there is a complaint to be had. Maybe.

Ok, not hallucinating. 4-6 wks ago was last season. Now if only we’d stop talking about it so noone gets triggered.
-
Say his name. LOL
-
Let’s just throw some unrelated right wing politics into it, I guess.
-
Why does it seem like this is deja vu? Didn’t a team hire a female coach last season? Or am I hallucinating again?
-
Too much grass might be part of the problem?
-
First I’ve heard about it.

I think the intent of the thread was more general, as opposed to specific events. Do you find draft day, deadline day or FA day to be the worst day to be a Sabres fan. See my reply above.

I remember this discussion from many years ago, back when our won/loss record actually mattered.

“Nobody wants to come here” is not a defense of the job Adams’ has done, but it is a reality that needs to be faced. Part of what makes Adams unqualified for the role is his lousy recruiting skills. We need a GM that can overcome “nobody wants to come here”. An under qualified GM that you can’t take what he says at face value, and is lacking in charisma is not the guy that should be tasked with rebuilding a team with a ***** reputation.

I can think of a number of real world instances where someone unqualified to assume a role never progresses enough to actually be qualified. -
Another hole plugged. Now on to a 3C I hope.

I am not sure negligent is the right word. But he is certainly responsible by way of his position. I am pretty well set in my belief that underqualified GMs, under qualified coaches (and now a coach with a previous connection), and around the edges players in trades and UFAs are the product of a team with a reputation so bad that noone wants to be here except those that need a place to make a name for themselves. So, not negligent, just under qualified for the enormity of the task. And he’s doing his best lying to not come out and vocalize the deep hole Pegula has dug.
