This might be a bellwether game. If they can’t be “up” for this one, I don’t know how they get to where they are in play for 8th by thanksgiving.

Ive stated often during the tank era (and as far as I am concerned, the tank era isn’t over until this team puts it to bed), that you can’t have a majority kids team. You need a majority vets team to overwhelm the kids with the “right way” to do things. These kids have not seen what a successful NHL team needs to do. Every GM during this era has picked around the edges for meaningful vets. It doesn’t work because there isn’t a critical mass driving the kids. And a tough guy coach isn’t going to change that. And now we have reached a point where our kids are now the vets and are supposed to somehow flip a switch and begin doing things that noone has shown them to do. It’s ***** madness.

Hmmm….. which Gen Z stereotype are we throwing around here? Not much for the generational stereotypes usually foisted upon the young uns. I don’t think other teams are burdened by them.

I watched a Sabres produced youtube video last night that I presume was a post practice interview with Owen Power. “We’ve done a lot of good things” was a very similar quote to Power’s response. They don’t seem to be on the same page, and they don’t seem to sense the urgency either. This is what happens when there just aren’t enough grizzled vets from winning organizations in the room. Our vets are mostly products of this culture.

Hiring from within won’t fix the problem. The problem is within. And promoting a rookie GM is how this snowball turned into a glacier. That is no answer as well.

I think, at its core, this is the overwhelming issue. And the state of the franchise is such that supplementing what we do have is supremely challenged by the state of the franchise making it a no fly zone for nearly every player, coach and executive of worth in the NHL.

I was not really concerned with how many points they are behind. And I was not really concerned because the number of teams to leap frog was low. But it is now November and they find themselves with many teams to leap frog. Statistically, they have about 3 weeks to get back in front of the teams that separate them from 8th place. If playoffs was the goal, they have set themselves up for failure.

I have watched so little of this team over the last 13 yrs that continued performance like this is functionally equivalent to the team moving for me. I will take my chances.

Any answer other than replace the owner makes me scratch my head in wonder.

Unpopular opinion forthcoming. The only reason the Mitts trade is a failure is because KA misjudged Cozens. I believe the plan was set based on the assumption that Cozens would be as effective as Mitts, harder to play against than Mitts, and the team wanted a defense first 3rd line center anyway. Had Cozens not started the season with a thud, we wouldn’t miss Mitts 5v5 with McLeod changing the role of the 3rd line. Alas, Mr. Adam’s expectations for Cozens were a just a bit loftier than reality. I like our defense roster. I am less concerned about it than I am the forward group.

You don’t care that the administration you are railing on handled the subject you are railing on better than the rest of the world? The current administration’s economic policy has prevented the inflation that the rest of the world is seeing. Context. And thats the stupid part prart right there. It’s been an objectively good 4 yrs economically. Especially relative to the rest of the industrialized world. But that is a message the right doesn’t want you to see.

I agree. But it is a fraction of the costs to have enough polling places open to service every enrolled voter. If we were serious about having a truly representative vote, we would be making it easier to vote. The whole voter role thing is so overblown. There is no evidence of significant fraud. Its an issue because some folks want it to be an issue.

That gives more time. How does it make it more accessible to the millions without private transportation? Or the people with employment situations that won’t allow them the time off. And your plan costs more. Why spend more when an efficient solution is a web developer away? Evolve or die.
