  1. Not gonna lie. Dabbling in this is likely part of my retirement income plan. A good friend made it work very well for him. I figure if I don’t do it someone else will. This is one way an average guy can get ahead. Been a rough 7 days in my circle. Next door neighbor died late last week after a long cancer fight. Son’s FIL to be had a heart attack and died Tuesday early AM. 53 yrs old. Same as me. And last night my other next door neighbor fell in his driveway and couldn’t get up. Don’t know how long he was there when I heard him while I was battening down the hatches for the night. I’m not sure how he’s doing now. Last I knew the ambulance was still in the driveway.
  2. Yeah, I suppose we just really can’t trade Jack if we eliminate the entire eastern conference and any team in memory that got the better of us in a trade. Seems awful counter productive to handcuff ourselves in that way. IMO bottom line if it is a given that Javk is moving on, he goes to the highest bidder. And I really dont give a ***** if he goes to even a most hated team if it maximizes our return.
  3. This is mostly where I am at, but I think the “right” 2C could be effective enough to move ahead. Obviously the other pieces would need adjustment to compensate.
  4. I’ll be honest, I haven’t attempted to keep track of who is in which camp and what the details of the two sides consist of. I just know what I want to see. And I’m not sure what you are asking, if its a futures based trade we can’t compete, or if Jack is traded we can’t compete? I suspect the 1st is most likely accurate and suspect with the right players coming back in the 2nd we should be competitive. I’d have to see the return to comment.
  5. I don’t want a rebuild. I’m certainly OK with a few players gone if they don’t want to be here, even if it is out star players. But there is no reason it has to set us back. The return has to be correct of course, but losing Jack, Sam, and Risto does not have to be a step backwards. A return that makes next season hopeful is certainly possible, but it can’t be a futures heavy return. It can’t look like what we did 8 yrs ago when we moved everything for lottery tickets. holy poorly structured paragraph, Batman!
  6. Gawd, I hate that show. I have to suffer through it every weekend.
  7. Here, here. If we're moving Jack (and I think we are), then blow this ***** up. No, not tank. Full scale roster reboot though. Just make sure there are good vets sprinkled throughout the lineup. Emphasis on good.
  8. Inkman wants all the sausages.
  9. Every year starting in a few months.
  10. Wait for it....
  11. Squirrel !??!
  12. We need a third choice: I'm only participating to watch the drama unfold.
  13. The only glitch I see in your numbers is that there is a likliehood of significant overlap in the vaccinated group and the COVID antibody group. WTF knows how much overlap.
  14. What is this stan thing about? Edit: fan. It’s not autocorrect
  15. What’s more political than taxes, right? Saw a Propublica article today shedding light on the myth of the rich paying their fair share. Thiught Id share it and see if we can get some conversations going. https://www.propublica.org/article/the-secret-irs-files-trove-of-never-before-seen-records-reveal-how-the-wealthiest-avoid-income-tax I can’t copy snippets of the article to tease it. Some points made: The top 25 richest Americans paid an average of 15.8% income tax. Thats lower than the rate if you made $45k last year. Bezos, Bloomberg, Buffet, Soros, Musk have all managed to pay 0 income taxes at times. The article is a long read, and they’ve put out other articles in this series, discussing how the sliding scale for income tax just stops working at the top. 16. My only concern with this plan is, any team that would be trading a real good player for the chance to draft Power (I saw that twitch, liger) is a team that is adjusting their timeline. Otherwise, what would be their motivation? So I’m not sure we’d get a really good 23-25 yr old player. More likely we’d get a player of UFA age, 27ish. Depending on the player I might be on board, but the field would be pretty narrow methinks.
  17. Abso-freaking-lutely. Like they should have done 6-7 seasons ago.
  18. I seem to recall Ronny Harmons name coming up in comparison to that play.
  19. Its also very selfish of us to expect him to waive a right he justly negotiated.
  20. The act of moving Jacks injured neck doesn’t give you a reference?
  21. When Jack went to the bench after the injury occurred the trainer on the bench moved Jacks head/neck and Jacks response (all on camera) was a mix of pain, shock, anger.
  22. I have no “after” imaging to back it up, but my herniation took 2-3 years to really get back to normal. At 6 months I was still quite affected.
  23. I seem to recall a Sabre who broke an ankle and had lasting effects, but I don’t have a name. I am old and feeble so I may be all wet here.
