off topic Professional Womens Hockey (Coming to Buffalo)
thewookie1 replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
Seems a little busy in my opinion, the other 3 have a sleek design. -
That was awesome how he smiled about it. I also liked how he was sort of the anti-Grigs, Eichel feels he needs to earn his spot on the team, while Grigs felt it was somewhat an entitlement
-
He had 2 goals and 1 assist in 7 playoff games with the Flyers
-
I came around with Zadorov
-
I will never trade Girgs and you should be ashamed for even thinking it. I'd legitimately cry if we trade Girgs or Risto. Not to mention furious and wanting Murray's head
-
That is true, I'm not really all that excited nor appalled by him however. The need for him to put in #1 minutes like before would be short lived, but his upside is damn good.
-
I wouldn't offersheet Tarasenko, I want my 1st rounder next year seeing as it is here.
-
If true I'd grab both him and Beauchemin if at all possible. 31 isn't terribly old. Problem is supposedly he wants to go to a contender.
-
Beauchemin 2x6.5mil would be my offer. Then if he still wants to play and is still useful we'd just give him lesser salary.
-
I say a definite no to a 2nd Toronto team, I hate the idea with a passion. It would take fans away from the Sabres potentially along with giving us another annoying team to hear whine about everything and act snobbish. Leave it 16 v 16 Conferences, send Columbus/Detroit back west if Quebec enters the fray either by a move or expansion. In your 3 Conference design I'd switch Ottawa with Washington, but would rather keep the 2 Conference system

Actual NHL Trades -- Discuss 'em in here.

I at least, would have a seemingly coherent plan. -
Kessel and Phaunef for Reinhart, Hodgson and Gionta?
thewookie1 replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Aud Club
You know I just noticed instead of "Cease and Desist" I said "Cease and Assist" The article made even my worst proposals sound like a Dreger rumor in legitimacy. Kessel and defense ........ do not mix -

I've got this role copyrighted Tolstoy so unless you want to pay royalties, I expect you to cease and assist making up trades. -
Sign Oduya, meet Oilers in the Finals and win next year. That'd be just absurdly awesome and amazing! Eichel yelling at McDavid, "Who's number 2 now!!"

Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn traded to Sabres

I agree 100%, give the guy his 8 yr 7.5 mil per and he'll anchor the 1st line until Eichel is ready, then he'll move to the wing probably as Reinhart slides into the 2nd line Center role. That image reminds me of the Lundquist one from the Finals last year. Those are the types of players who win you Cups, the one who no matter what the score or series is at, will play their off until the final buzzer. I think in a way what Murry meant by replicating LA's style wasn't exactly the obvious puck possession strategy visible play you can see on TV. In a way I think he meant more along the lines of LA's never say die attitude. The team that no matter the series score, will always be a threat to win even when down 3-0 and/or rather 1st in the league or 16th with the final wild card we'll be feared by all teams who may meet us in the playoffs. I can think of at very least 4 players already on this team with that personality trait. O'Reilly, Girgensons, Kane, and Ristolainen. Gionta & Gorges probably. Eichel is very likely to be like this as well. Ristolainen going up to GMTM and wanting to win/questioning the tank must of really impressed GMTM because he never forgets to mention him in interviews when asked about defense. That was our biggest problem since 2007, we had the skill and the talent but the sheer unwillingness to lose wasn't there; Miller had it, but he couldn't score but he certainly did his damnedest in the playoffs. Once these guys mesh, and with the other high character players inside the locker room, they should truly be a tough team to play regardless if its game 1 or game 100. -
They still have their ow 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in addition to 2 other 3rds, a 4th, 2 5ths, a 6th, and 2 7ths.

BEAUCHEMIN,ODUYA or MARTIN are a given to me. Sekera would be someone I wouldn't mind getting back as a long term Top 4

Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn traded to Sabres
thewookie1 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
His end of the season really impressed me, he seemed unwilling to quit or pack it in, and was putting up points rather rapidly. If I have to guess, I think he has a resurgence year this year as his passion is fed by the other great players around him. No longer does he have to play to the extent he was last year. -
Gibson for McGinn and a 3rd in 2016?

I bet Ennis is certainly happy. -
I wonder what comes next, a new d-man maybe?
-
I wonder if Chicago would be interested in Legwand? He did play in their division forever practically.
-
At least he's won a Calder Championship and the MVP in it. That's all I can hang my hopes on.
-
God awful deal as we know of it thus far, there had better be something we aren't hearing yet or else this certainly puts a damper on my opinion of GMTM.
-
He fits better with them than the earlier show,
