  1. Yup, a more wholesome character at very least.
  2. How the article talks of Eichel and Reinhart is very similar to how Kane and Toews are typically described.
  3. I'd be torn value wise due to fact it'd be an all in style move and logic goes out the window in that case. The thing is they'd not want to give Theo up since they are likely to lose a Dman due to money since both Lindholm and Vatanen are RFAs while Depres gets a 2.8mil raise.
  4. 4 mil 1 more year, Chicago is up against the cap. Forget the 4th, Legwand(50%) for Bickell and 1st
  5. The first part is true temporarily, the second isn't since there is no assurance people above the minimum wage will get equal or any raise to their wages. Nowhere is it illegal to merely raise prices more than double, cut costs and create a larger profit. The idea the middle class gains from this is only if the ideal scenario plays out where they all get raises while prices stay stagnant. Also the problem you seem to leave out is that prices will rise to make up for any and all losses any industry has. If you double the minimum wage for example, McDonalds isn't going to eat the loss, they'll merely increase the prices of everything over time. Thus creating, essentially, inflation. When that occurs not only are the poorer people hurt but now the other people nearby in wages are hurt too. That is why Socialism doesn't help anyone, it only hurts more to make it more equal.
  6. I think Chicago should look at Legwand, my Dad is a big Hawks fan and says their PK is terrible. He's been in that division most of his career, and could help kill penalties for them. Think Handzus. Plus maybe he could get a Cup then :) I think he certainly deserves one after the solid job he did this year as a vet presence who was frankly a throw in cap dump. Any interest in Andrew Shaw? 24 yrs old, similar to McGinn but with 2 Cup rings. After all Chicago has no hope of retaining him likely What about Legwand for Bickell, 1st, and CBJ 4th Bickell has 1 year after this one, bury him with Moulson, kinda kills the Stamkos idea but it'd certainly make the Amerks pretty good :) More so though we'd get a 1st and if we can pull of McGinn and a 3rd for a 1st too we'd have ammo to get that defenseman we desire.
  7. 2 more wins and we tie our points from last year We have 50 in 56 games, last year we had 54 in 82
  8. Anyone giving away tickets?
  9. What's the chance if Moulson doesn't score again, he retires July 2nd? (Or whatever date he gets his first check) After all he could work at Harbor Center and get paid handsomely :)
  10. I'd guess they would count here, but it begs to question if it counts via "plays" or appearances.
  11. We end up sort of the Goldielocks of the two teams since we have a rebuild further along than Toronto yet far closer to his home town than Tampa. Now all we have to do is get him to sign for 8.75mil for 7 years. And for all we know Buffalo is his #1 target due to its location while avoiding Toronto's media. I have a question for all of you, more out of curiosity than anything. You are Steven Stamkos, Buffalo offers you 7x8.75, and Toronto offers 7x12; which do you take? For me, if I'm determined to "go home" I'd have reduced it down to those two teams pretty quickly. (Detroit would likely be another if they had the money), from there I have to decide who you think will win, and rather or not the 3.25x7 is worth the media pressure and stress of being the next Captain of the Leafs.
  12. It's private, only link can get to it
  13. Subban could of stopped that shot or rushed Kane and stopped the game from being iced.... Lucky for us he chose to whine. ROR with a 2 pt night A pair of goal pairs by Kane and Foligno Unselfish Eichel at end Mostly an ugly game but they won so that's all we can ask for.
  14. True, but he's going to get a minimum 9 due to his stats
  15. If he's willing to play wing and take 9.5 mil a year, and not expect to be captain then I see no reason not to at least try. He may only want to play C because he deems himself the best C on Tampa, with the likes of Eichel and Reinhart already here he may not feel so inclined to demand C.
  16. 10 mil or less I'd be intrigued, Anything more I hope we can get him a 15 mil contract with Toronto. Either helps us directly, or cripples Toronto. To be honest I'd be fine with him going to the West just to smite Toronto; Buffalo getting him would make Toronto burn with anger.
  17. McDavid makes me sad for the what could of been. Eichel looks to be elite but McDavid looks generational :(
  18. Burying Moulson in the minors for a year Cap hit would be reduced by 950k, maybe someone can convince him to take some kind of mutual parting of ways where we give him money to retire. Trade Ennis and Franson for futures & cheaper replacements Really it isn't now that would be the problem, it would be in 2 more years when Eichel and Reinhart are up looking for new contracts. 2018-19 ROR 7.5mil Risto 7mil Bogo 5.1mil Moulson 5mil/4.05mil Hodgson adds 458k oddly that year Now lets say they take the root of Kane and Toews and take an intermediate contract around 7.5mil a piece for 3 or 4 years. That would be about 39.1/38.25 mil tied up in them alone. Add 10 for Stamkos and we have roughly 49mil in 5 Fs and 2 D ROR-Eichel-??? ???-Stamkos-Reinhart ???-???-??? Moulson-???-??? ???-Risto ???-Bogo ???-??? ??? ??? This year the cap is $71.4 mil Let's say it goes up to $73.2 mil next year $75.1 mil in 2 years $77.5 mil in 3 years Add in the expansion and at best the cap hits $79/80 mil. That gives us 30 mil to sign 13 players minimum, 7 Fs, 4 Ds, 2 Gs and we'd likely need 15 so that'd give us on average 2mil per player. Now let's project costs ROR-Eichel-(5mil) (4mil)-Stamkos-Reinhart (1.25mil)-(1.25mil)-(1.25mil) Moulson-(1.25mil)-(.75mil) 14.75mil on Forwards(Moulson could be replaced for a 950k player) (4mil)-Risto (3.5mil)-Bogo (1.25mil)-(1.25mil) 10 mil on Defence (4mil) (1.25mil) 5.25 on Goalies 0mil for subs!!! Impossible, no. But I just can't figure out how'd we maintain the team more than 2 years. Even if Moulson ceased being, you'd still only be paying 4 more players 1.25 mil per thus giving you subs at least. And that'd mean my favorite player, Girgs leaving
  19. We have everything Toronto has due to proximity with none of the drawbacks in terms of media pressure. We also have a couple years on Toronto in terms of the rebuild.
  20. Gudas should of had to fight Kane, not get to wussy away to the dressing room. The Sabres played like butter knives, I guess without at least 1 of Larsson/Girgs the team can't play 5v5 with any consistency. (BUFFALO BUTTER KNIVES) I agree 100% and I'm in the same boat. His lack of emotion makes me feel both angry and sad. He was a player for Christ's sake, where is his inner fire!
  21. If I can get another 1st for McGinn, I'd use that one. I'd be a tad torn unless we can get a similar D-man elsewhere
  22. Only way i trade from 1 is for 2/3 and OEL/similar caliber defenseman. Since I doubt that happens, I'll just take Matthews and let enjoy having 2 elite and a great C under the age of 21.
  23. O'Reilly's face after seeing Reinhart do so well in the accuracy shooting says, "I taught him to well..."
