I wouldn't trade Reinhart for Puljujarvi or Laine to be honest. Reinhart has already shown he's good and adaptable while hitting it off with Eichel. Laine and Pulj haven't played 1 minute in the NHL and I wouldn't risk hoping either of them hit it off with Eichel like Reinhart has. Kane & Toews are friends and mutually respect one another's ability, as seen in their multiple matching contracts. I hope to see Eichel and Reinhart continue towards that. Part of what made Kane and Toews buddies was they were both rookies at the same time akin to that of how Eichel and Reinhart entered the league together. As great as Laine/Pulj seem to be, I'll keep the guy who has already meshed with my other superstar over risking it for a marginal improvement. Not to mention I think Reinhart will be fine as a winger if he's with Eichel, he'll merely adapt like he has. Maybe in 3 or 4 years they'll both be superstars and we'll be able to split them up 1C & 2C with ROR on the wing but just because Reinhart is a C by trade doesn't men I'm going to force a square block into a circle slot for the sake of making Reinhart a C.

82 games 24 goals 39 assists 63 points MacKinnon's rookie year 81 games 24 goals 32 assists 56 points Eichel's rookie year However MacKinnon did have a better team than Eichel with consistently better linemates most of the season. Compare the Avs of 2013-14 http://avalanche.nhl.com/club/stats.htm?season=20132014 with that of our Sabres http://sabres.nhl.com/club/stats.htm I'd say the comparison more than makes up for Eichel's 7 fewer assists. Is Eichel Crosby to MacKinnon, no, but he does seem better comparatively.

The 3.9 was me commenting on your offer sheet for only a 2nd rounder. You'd only be able to offer up to 3.9mil for the cost to be a 2nd rounder
-
I think Barrie would require the #8 overall. Granted I may be willing to do that, though we'd have a logjam on the right side, we'd suddenly have 2 40+pts D men
-
Don't make me choose, I actually like Bogo. I'd disagree only in the sense we don't know what Barrie wants.
-
I doubt Barrie signs for under 3.9mil a year
-
The new Defensive defenseman has to be able to skate, and skate well. To be honest if Bogo gets his D play more consistent he'd be a poster child for the modern defensive dman. Since he can skate, hit, and pitch in on offense from time to time. He's a bit better than the usual in offensive terms more likely though. Pysyk is more of the other type of classical defensive defenseman, the smooth skater who uses positioning.
-
That'd be over kill with our 2nd especially. Zemgus >> Grigo Pysyk < Zadorov Fasching > Compher 38th < 31st Plus Barrie is a RHD

That is actually rather clever

How do you feel about Sabres charging for NHL Draft?

Anyone who has lived through Communism and anyone who has a brain. -
I guess since we got our F'n Center (Eichel and ROR) it now wants to name itself something else
-
F### the Bruins, Eichel grew up liking them too, go get Vesey Eichel!

Angry, yes, but also very understandable. The demand for the event will be huge, and with the Toronto pick, larger than just our hockey crazed city. In a way I think they are hoping not to be utterly swamped on draft day so that it can still function. Imagine a packed house, plus thousands outside, plus all the media, managers, and etc. Not to mention the rookies deserve to "enjoy" the event not be swamped by every fan imaginable. -
I'd take Nash for a 3rd Maybe Nash & Skeji for a 2nd this year and next year, and lesser D prospect
-
Pure BS if I have ever saw it, does it really matter though, no.

Matthews suddenly has a bad knee, Laine has a bad knee, wow :P

What is with you and your anti-Risto crusade. You're like PA with the Pegulas. He has all of them which is rather rare, and has stepped up into a #1 role when most young D are sheltered. As qwk and trueblue said, he has ice in his veins and with a bit more aggression he'd be a top 10 Dman in the league in a couple years. He's already Top 10 in A/TOI and played the full 82 game schedule while doing so. Stats are worthless from the past two years, he was given Duncan Keith's role with a team of AHLers. He was supposed to literally be and do everything.

Nylander ain't bad ;) If we draft him I'd do exactly what we did with Reinhart, bring him up for 9 games, then send him back with instructions to build up his body Its nice having Eichel and Reinhart already, we don't have to worry about getting a franchise center

Why not, if I go I'd like to say hi at least :w00t: -
Would #8 + Baptiste and a 3rd & 5th be enough to move up to #6? To be honest Calgary is the only team I could see being willing to deal with us since they will likely take a forward. Edmonton and Vancouver are wildcards in that Edmonton might trade it for a guy and Vancouver can use either a forward or Dman

I torn on Shattenkirk because he's another rightie.
