I see 2 scenarios: 1. The Sabres know there is a good chance they won't have a Top 12 F spot for Okposo and are at very least floating the idea to Seattle so that Kyle can have more of chance to play. 2. The Sabres are merely investigating costs for the expansion draft and are considering taking on a different contract in the Eichel trade thus are trying to separate themselves from his 2x6mil.

The only one I pause at is Gourde, he's been an unsung star for them in the playoffs. His defensive play and PK is incredible. Palat is still good but they have a glutton of wingers and Johnson is on the serious decline.

I don't think it was a direct A to B cause to effect but I do certainly think it had to do with ROR's end of season fiasco.

Ironic, ROR left Colorado and may have left Buffalo due to him not getting the Captaincy. Now ROR getting the C is causing a guy to leave.

You hold onto Eichel then, there are zero acceptable scenarios in which we trade Eichel and don’t bring a multiple blue chip assets rather that be Zegras and 3OA or 8th and Byfield.

He also added if we end up with another Top 5 pick it would be assured and that would line up with the 3 listed. If we end up with 1&3 I could easily see them then taking Eklund 1OA and then choosing between Power and Hughes If Seattle takes Beniers. For instance, even if they rank them 1. Power 2. Eklund 3. Hughes Depending on their separation, Taking Eklund makes sense since it assures them 2 of the 3 while also assuring we have 1 F and 1 D

Seems like a rather solid hire. From the way it looks Nightingale was demoted again. He's gone from Director of Analytics and Scouting to Head of Analytics and Director of Pro Scouting to now merely Asst. Director of Pro Scouting. I guess he's well liked by Adams, but didn't impress with his one year stint at the top hence he has been supplanted.

It wouldn’t be the Sabres delaying a trade, it would be the league. The league would probably want us not to distract fans from the Cup Finals with a humongous trade.

Just wanted to add, which would you rather deal with..... The next 10 years listening to the media talk about how Eichel was stolen by Boston or the NYR for peanuts as he personally keeps us in the dirt. or How the Sabres ruined Eichel's career by demanding high value and ending up holding him for 5 years. To be honest, if no one will give us value that includes a high 1st and a Top Tier Prospect at very least; Eichel better get ready to either beg another team to pay his ransom or start thinking of a few hobbies.

Depends, under zero circumstances do I trade Eichel in the division. If the Bruins want him I'd want Mcavoy, Pasta and Marchand for starters. I will always say, if you can't get fair value and/or wants a team like Boston; we are better off holding him hostage and just taking the loss to prevent others for taking a further step forward. Effectively mutually assured destruction in hockey terms.
