  1. sure, there's always a way, and chances are it's giving up a first this year, or anyone on your list of untradeables. Your not getting g anything good for an injured Ennis, or Matt Moulson......
  2. For those that are shooting him down for having a poor attitude, this doesn't seem like its him whining about not having things given to him, I think it's more about not fitting the coaches system and seeing the writing on the wall that he doesn't fit this team. It's better for him to get out of that system and into a system that lets him play his game. Getting dumped in the minors and held down by the coach cause he doesn't fit the coaches style of play is just hurting him and can hurt his caree when he is able to leave Tampa. There may be better ways of going about it, but I don't fault him by demanding a trade and sitting out. He has to look out for himself and his career first. There seems to be issues with the coach and having to fit his system that it could also lead to them having to deal or lose Stamkos. Also, if your going to complain about Drouin, didn't O'Reilly sit out and complain about his contract at a very young age too which lead to him being available and constantly on the trade block?
  3. lol, they need help on the ice now, so they are going to spend more to acquire a guy who was sent down by his current team cause he has struggled to perform at the NhL level?
  4. trades don't have to be a bust because of their performance on the ice, Leaner has had a history of injuries, and after 10 minutes here he was back on long term IR. If the guy barely sees the ice because he's hurt, the trade is just as much a bust as if he played and stunk the place up. So far dealing anything for him has been a bust, but there's hope he can change it and stay healthy while also playing well. the difference was both Enroth and Neuvirth played well enough that teams looked at them as solid fill in options as starters. Does anyone in the league outside of Buffalo have faith in Johnson being anything more then just a decent backup goalie?
  5. Wi-Fi must have gone down I the rink, or maybe cell service went down
  6. Apparently John Scott had made up some nice t-shirts thanking his teammates for their support that he was going to give them at the ASG Personally, who cares who is playing in the ASG, its a meaningless game thats supposed to be fun for the fans, so what if Scott didn't "Earn the right" to play in it. Do you think half the players in the game feel "honored" to be chosen to play in it or are just happy they can now use it to bump up their pay in negotiations? Atleast you know that he knows he wasn't voted in because of his stats and was atleast going to have fun with the guys out there. I think they need to take the ASG and the "winter classic" which had its lowest ratings ever this year, and merge them into the same event. One outdoor game each year that will be held in february as the NHL ASG. They can play around with the format, or add some incentives to it to get the players interest in it up, and take away the fans voting in the players (if thats such a worry that Scott might make it in the game). They could really make it interesting by having the teams vote in their representative, or have some independent group select the players based on stats or 'metrics'
  7. Its an easy fix, PLAY BETTER HOCKEY AND WIN GAMES There are plenty of other rinks in the league that are loud and rocking, the difference is those teams are actually fun to watch and not in the league basement AGAIN Those fans also have cell phones, it doesn't make them quiet and its just an excuse by people who think fans should have to sit through and cheer on the rough years to get to the good ones. In todays league you don't have to hit sub rock bottom to build a team thats fun to watch and competitive. But until they decide to WIN games instead of rebuilding, fans in attendance will have an attitude of "Zero Fcks Given" about the game
  8. I think they would just make up some rule to say they he doesn't qualify instead of pressuring a team to move a player or bury them in the AHL
  9. I have been saying for a while that this team lacks "goal scorers". They have plenty of "play makers" and guys who can score goals, but are there really any players on this team that you would see on the ice and think "A goal is coming...", or in a situation where you need a goal late in the game you think "Man, this is where we need 'X' out there to get us one"? Theres no "Snipers" Its crazy how many times I see the other team getting a goal off of a deflection, or a screen, yet when Buffalo is the one taking the shot, its always blocked by the person thats screening, or its wide of the net, or doesn't make it through. They just never seem to get those lucky breaks/bounces
  10. Did he get some good players? Yes Did he overpay for them? Yes Should he have held onto those prospects and picks to "watch them develop" before dealing them away? No For the moves he made to this team this year, they should be playing much better and should not be looking at another deadline of selling while looking at possibly another top 5 pick, so the team as a whole has been underachieving
  11. I will take the $891 other million from you if you would rather not want it and I will keep my life, won't work, and have ownership of a hockey or baseball team I thought I heard something about that on the channel 2 news tonight
  12. would it really make them any worse?
  13. Goaltending Last year they actually had some good goaltenders who would keep them in games and they lost cause they couldn't score. This year they have a better team up front but the goal tending has been mediocre. I don't know if it was Urbe, but Neuvirth and Halak are better then Johnson, Ullmark (has potential but mediocre right now) and part of a game of Leaner...... Johnson is a backup goalie at best Ullmark may need more time to continue to develop Lehner needs to play more then half a season I would love to see them looking to upgrade the crease, but with TMs boy Lehner coming back I'm sure he thinks he has the upgrade already.... Oh, and as for the game tonight,I will be picking Chicago to win so that should ensure the Sabres come away with an easy upset victory over the Hawks....
  14. who's talking about 3 1St Round picks? If you want to look at stats, one has actually started more then 36 games in a season before, and has more then 2 games experience in the playoffs and has less years playing in the NHL. the article I was reading suggested Calgary or Arizona, but they would be divisional teams in the west. Philly could be possible cause they always seem to need a goalie.
  15. Gibson is fine according to the report I was reading that suggested the ducks were going to move Anderson on TSNs website.
  16. you would hope so only because that means they are Really good.... Crosby, Malkin, oh you meant reasonable? Who knows..... Frederik Anderson, goaltender of the ducks may be available after they made the trade with the Habs for Tokarski. I would make a move to get him, was the starter keeping a very bad team in games until they decided to go with Gibson. I would also be talking to the Leafs for Vernier, hoping the change of scenery out of the pressure cooker that is Toronto would help him. Unfortunately TM is getting his boy Lehnner back soon so he most likely isn't interested in shopping in the better goalie section........
  17. I think they have a good young team and if they can't get fans to support them now, I don't think they ever will. As long as ownership doesn't pull a Marlins and blow it apart once they get good to rebuild again and keep costs down, they should be able to start building a fan base.
  18. I wonder if that is as weird as people bringing their cats to football games recently As for Scott and the ASG, seems to be the new trend of fans trying to vote in the least likely person to make an ASG, started a few years ago IIRC with Rory Fitzpatrick getting votes when with the Canucks. I work with a guy who's neighbors are Scott's parents
  19. with a team this young I have no problem giving up prospects and picks for players. This team isn't need more future potential youth from picks or prospects if they can use it to speed up the process a little by getting a young player with Nhl experience and upside why not? with a team this young I have no problem giving up prospects and picks for players. This team isn't need more future potential youth from picks or prospects if they can use it to speed up the process a little by getting a young player with Nhl experience and upside why not? lol, I seriously don't know what happened, I didn't see any of the previous posts about this when I posted, did they get merged from another topic?
  20. Anyone think TM might be interested in the former #3 overall Pick from 2013, Drouin? His agent is asking for a trade after they assigned him to the minors again, he's been a disappointment so far and injured but he could be a possible buy low change of scenery move?
  21. Leading scorer from OHL is now out the rest of the game against Canada for dumb spear, lol And the big save they keep bringing up by the US goalie, that was against his teammate Perlini on the Ice Dogs.
  22. Lol, watch some Canucks games, that team is horrible. Miller hasn't been elite for them, but is hardly the issue in Vancouver. As for the Sabres goal tending, it's been mediocre and the goalies have yet to have to play in any situation where they were need to hold them in a game cause the team wasn't trying to win. I wouldn't put my money yet on Johnson or Ullmark coming up big in a high pressure playoff situation And no, there's a bigger hockey myth out there involving Miller and it's that he is some horrible teammate that throws his teammates under the bus. I don't thi K I have ever heard some say he was a bad teammate and didn't hold himself accountable.
  23. I don't think the announcement will have anything to do with the Sabres hosting another outdoor game, it's about the Juniors and adding an outdoor game to it. If I was one of the teams picked to play outdoors I wouldn't want to do it, especially in a tournament situation where all games have some meaning. If it's an exhibition game for the tournament, sure, but not a game that's going to count for something playing outside where the conditions could affect the game.
  24. looking at the list of goalies in recent history to get shutouts untrue debut, it's not a great list. Only Mike Smith is a starter, Montoya is a backup, the others may not even be playing inter NHL this season (back down in the minors)
  25. same could be said about Kane, there best stretch of the season so far has come with him out of the lineup.....
