no, the sabres just have crap to sell. The decent players they have they want to keep, the rest the other teams just aren't interested in. No one really makes hockey trades today, it's buying and selling of expiring asserts, and the Sabres aren't buyers and have little of value to sell

My daughter was around a year and a half when I took her to an OHL game here, she went to another later in the season, she didn't stay for the full game but it was fine. Now she is 2 going on 3 and we went to atleast 3 games together this season and she loves it, she always asks to go to a hockey game now. Sure she doesn't always sit still or pay attention to the game but it's still fun for her and I'm watching out for her knowing that picks could come into the seats. I wouldn't take my youngest to a game until she's older then a year. I also would never take her to a Bills game until either are teenagers just because of the rejects that populate the stands there and think it's their right to be obnoxious ignorant drunks. When I first heard about what happened in Montreal I definitely thought why someone would take such a young child with them, it's why there are babysitters if you have to go somewhere. But there was a local DJ here who last night went off on this defending the person and saying you should take your kid everywhere (except for strip clubs) at any age and it's bad parents who wouldn't take there kids to those places. He then goes on to say how he gas taken his kid to concerts and other events since it was born and basically implied he was a better parent for doing it.

How do you explain the Kings? They liked picking up Sabres scraps.... In almost all of those cases, I would hardly blame the former Sabres as the cause of their woes, except maybe Vanek in Minny, he has been disappointing..... Winnipeg isn't losing because of Myers and Stafford, Vancouver's biggest problems aren't goaltending and Nashville has been cup contenders up u til this year when Rinne has fallen apart As for this current "core", they could end up ripping up the league just like Edmonton's "core" has been......

I like that they changed everything including his pads and the mask I like those jerseys too, would love to find a Briere Jersey in those

McKenzie speculates that Stamkos will end up in Buffalo
apuszczalowski replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Well TSN (and the Canadian Media) is already starting to change their direction away from Stamkos and moving to a different local boy the Leafs fans can covet as their new saviour in a couple years http://www.tsn.ca/trade-talk-leafs-could-target-tavares-down-the-line-1.437971 When will the first leafs fan show up to a Leafs event with a Tavares Blue and White Jersey? -
actually, they didn't start that way. The first one in the recent NHL was Calgary v Edmonton, except they didn't call it "winter classic" it was a "Heritage Classic" It was then like a year or 2 layer that Buffalo was the first in the January 1St traditional game

I don't know, would letting him retire and getting no return back have been any worse or different then getting Slava?- 370 replies

I don't get why people are shocked about Bylsma, He is nothing special and never was anything special. He managed to win ONLY 1 cup with a lineup consisting of Crosby, Malkin, Staal, etc. His Pittsburgh teams had some of the best players in the game yet have only one cup to show for it, I think even the most average of coaches would have had the same results As for Lehner, I wanted to see him do well, but i think he will be another mediocre/good backup goalie that some will get excited over because he will show the occasional flash of excellence between bad and getting hurt. Murray overpaid for his guy and aside from drafting 2 givens at the top of the draft, has overpaid for mostly good but not great players. This team won't be a dynasty type team that some expect after wasting a couple seasons tanking.- 370 replies

because on most cases it is money, teams winning reputation, or hometown that attracts the top FAs, the only one I can think of recently who said otherwise was Nathan Horton who chose Columbus so he could live with his family without all the spotlight from a big city. The school stuff, paces to raise a family etc, those are all things that can be found in areas of any city so it's not going to be much of a factor.

price is skating.......Without pads and apparently looks like he is in pain. They have already said he is not near returning and many wonder if they should just shut him down til next year. If they dont start Winning without him now, they are done cause by the time he is close to coming back they will be in a fight for the bottom spot

IIRC, I actually thought there was a time where both those guys were looked at as being pretty good, but I haven't followed them much so I don't know. Normally this kind of move would be the leafs telling everyone they are all in on the tank, but I think it is more the Sens saying that....... Atleast the Sens fans can watch Phaneufs wife for enjoyment....
-
Makes you wonder what went on for that trade between 2 rivals. Were the Sens that impressed with Dion as they were scoring 6 goals on the Leafs Saturday night that they thought we need to get some of that for the next 5 years, lol Normally trading away your captain and biggest name means your going all in on a tank, but in this case, that player is Phaneuf and it might actually improve them by subtraction. Could this be the salary dump to go all in on Stamkos too?
-
I've said it before, I would like to see Bernier here, I think that getting out of Toronto would do him some good and he could give Lehner a run for the starting job. I know it won't happen cause Murray chose Lehner and that's his guy....
-
Well to add more fuel to an anti Pegula fire, lol, Trump says there would be no presidential run had he bought the Bills.....
-
I wondered what it was that caused the damage. I always thought those things were flexible rubber, strong enough to keep the net in place until hit where they would bend and come out I'm used to putting in the metal tubes with spiked bottoms that dig into the ice and sit in the tube of the net. I could see those causing alot of damage

Have they thought about just sending the Amerks up there for the game tonight so the team can rest an extra day? Or maybe they should add a new tradition and instead of taking their parents/fathers on a road trip to Florida, they left them play one game in their place. Right now I would not put my money on Montreal winning in either of those situations, they have been playing BAD, and also just played last night too..... -
If you want to talk precedent, let's compare apples and apples here. Has any team ever prevented other teams fans from Attending REGULAR SEASON games in their rink? It's funny how everyone wants to continue to suckle the Pegula teet because he apparently has an infinite supply of wealth and can rebuild the city without expecting to make any profits. He now owns a facility that requires out of owners to come in and stay to succeed so he promotes it in a fluff travel piece and it kisses some butt to try and fill an arena that the amazing local fans can't waste their valuable time to fill themselves.
-
Just wondering, since Ovi and Toews are suspended for a game after the break cause they opted out of playing in it, wouldn't the NHL have had to suspend Scott also for opting out of the game, at their own request? I would have loved to see how that would have played out, wonder if Ovi and Toews could appeal and use that against the league?
-
those twigs he calls legs would probably snap. It looks like he was skating on toothpicks
-
it sounds just like a travel piece, or like a written version of the video that would be looped on channel 1 of your hotel room tv
-
Actually, the PR guy never said anything about Leafs fans, he said people from Southern Ontario, it's the writer from a Hamilton Newspaper who wrote the article advertising the game experience in and around the rink for Leafs fans. What he left out was the fact that buying tickets is as easy as finding a Sabres fan with season tickets who will gladly sell his Leafs tickets for a profit to pay off his season tickets and then whine and complain that the arena is like a morgue or the arena is taken over by the enemy.
-
yeah, when I saw an article about the Bruins play by play guy going off on someone cause they were fighting someone smaller then them I had to laugh at the hypocrisy. When your part of a scumbag team, you should open your mouth about other teams not showing proper sportsmanship.
