  1. isn't this the same argument as last year, that McDavid (and Eichel)would attract good FAs cause good established players would want to play with them? I doubt a player of Stamkos status is going to decide to go somewhere to play next to a rookie with no NHL experience...... So far all drafting those players has done is helped their teams possibly attract other college FAs whom they have played with why would that be so bad? I actually think it would have been good to see him go there over Toronto
  2. I wished the former Ice Dog would have ended up in Buffalo......
  3. unless they can get someone to take Datsyuks contract, I don't think they could afford Stamkos Montreal could go hard after him, and maybe Buffalo too. Otherwise it could be a team we least suspect (a wildcard, like when the Canucks signed Miller....)
  4. good goalies aren't a dime a dozen, the problem with Toronto, it seems like its a graveyard for goalies. Reimer has looked better in SJ, and Bernier has gotten worse since getting to TO. Talk is they will try to get Reimer back as a FA. A couple FA defence men and they could be better much sooner
  5. all the talk I heard the last couple days was that winning Matthews would probably take them out of the Stamkos sweepstakes, where as losing the #1 pick would cement them as the favorites to get them and they would go all in.
  6. oh, it's definitely rigged..... And yeah, the Laughs are gonna get slot better, fast. The difference is that Buffalo was in the hunt for the top pick after tanking with their top prospects playing for the club this year playing how we expected or a little above expectations . The Leafs top prospects were still in the minors getting the occasional call up, in Europe, or dominating juniors. Now throw in American McDavid and it's only going to get better. Would have been funny to see an American team win last year and a Canadian team win this year though..... Also would have been cool to see the Coyotes win the pick to get their local boy who grew up with that team.
  7. Just a few thoughts, could anyone see Jimmy never becoming Saul during the show and that will be the finally to it? The series ends when Jimmy becomes Saul? Also, I'm thinking that Kim won't get killed off, but possibly gets into trouble because of Jimmy and is forced to leave New Mexico and possible being a lawyer? Maybe this incident gets her disbarred instead of Jimmy? I could also see Chuck using the tape to get Jimmy disbarred and he somehow scams his way into a fake identity which is Saul Goodman so he can continue practicing law? As for Mike, I'm thinking that it definitely was Nacho who put the note o. His car and rigged the horn, but he may have put someone he knows up to doing it, and that's why he was covering Hector at the house knowing Mike wasn't going to shoot him or anyone else and only wanted Hector.
  8. but to balance that draft out, an undrafted rookie of theirs just won AHL rookie of the year.......
  9. wonder if Kadris comments will be extra motivation (he said that Either struggles in his own end a bit, so the media started asking him about. He said he didn't know if Kadri should really be commenting on others (pretty much).
  10. I wouldn't say getting a goal to tie the game after giving up 4 straight is a sign they are heading in the right direction, especially after blowing an early 3 goal lead.....
  11. might be a bonus, but that takes away all the fun, and that great taste too! taste the meat, not the heat! 2 years ago when, the first spring I was in my new house I was looking for a new grill (old one was frozen to the deck when I was moving and it fell apart when I tried to move it) I found one at home depot, it was originally over $500 Canadian and I got it for under $300. It's a 3 burner with a side burner I never use, and it's what they called infrared (or something like that). Basically there a big plate that covers all the burners the heats up and radiates it, stops alot of flare ups cause nothing touches the open flame and it keeps found juicier. I had no intentions of spending a ton on a grill, and this one looked like a great deal for the price. It stays in the garage now and gets taken out when needed until I get my deck built. Even the cheap grills will last if taken care of and protected from the weather
  12. who cares about the goalies health, we should be out there playing in net with player equipment on just like the rest of the guys... I don't see anything wrong with the photo of the lightning goalie except maybe the overall length above the knee being a bit big. The game, players and all equipment has evolved over time. Goalies now have to face solid rubber being shot at them at over 90-100mph, yet every argument is that the equipment is too big and that it should be smaller cause the rest of the guys on the ice can't get it by them. Yet if some goalies get hurt by some 95mph shots, will they come back and make the players change back to wood flat blade sticks?
  13. Wow, this guy must be massively incompetent at his job or he must have hit on Terry's daughter (Or son), even the disaster named Rex Ryan was given a second season after the embarrassment of the last season......
  14. but I see here that Stamkos isn't anything special and not worth the money he will ask for. He doesn't show up in the playoffs too.
  15. not surprising, the league would feel bad taking money from him from lost paychecks and fines, especially with all of those children of his who are forced to work everyday along side roads and highways under construction....
  16. Nhl 96 to 98 count, 94 to 95 do not
  17. Personally I think he needs to start worrying more about stopping the puck, and less about who he should fight or want to fight......... maybe its something with Ottawa goaltending system and goalies who like to fight, Emery, Lehner.....
  18. Well let's hope they don't tank like the Leafs, who just beat the Wings and Lightning.....
  19. Man, teams have to be kicking themselves after not giving up assetts for Johnson. Bright side is a Leafs win will very slightly weaken their tank......
  20. typically, for Sabres and Buffalo sports fans in General, trade deadline day and start of free agency most years were like a welfare Christmas. Everyone else ran around showing off all their new toys while we sat back listening to our parents tell us how wonderful and great and lucky we ate for getting new socks and underwear
  21. you really think other teams will respect him more if he holds his ground over not dealing away a throw in on a previous deal or backup goalie? The Sabres didn't have anything special or coveted this year to deal. The only player that would he been coveted or in demand are guys signed long term and not being shopped. I would be surprised if he received calls for McGinn and Johnson asking what it would cost but that's about as far as it went. They aren't guys that are rare and can't be found elsewhere.
  22. could have also been they were done at the time and then got some calls back to say they would take a previous offer? Basically the Bruins thought they were done and then the Canes called back and said we will take that previous offer you made and we declined....
  23. because he wouldn't give up McGinn or Johnson? More like the may have inquired and thought that for what he was asking, they could get a better deal elsewhere. Uts not like the Sabres trade bait was all that tantalizing.Buffalo just didn't have the asserts this year to make other teams excited and make deals. They had mediocre assetts that could be found anywhere and weren't as valuable to contending teams
  24. weren't people here drooling over him just a few years ago. Now he is being moved for a 3rd So much hype for what amounted to not much excitement today for the networks covering hockey. Not surprised Buffalo did nothing but a minor league deal, they have little available that people want. There biggest trade chips are a throw in on the O'Reilly deal and a mediocre backup goalie. Ennis is hurt and the rest are guys under contract for years and part of what is being built here. Since most of what gets moved today are expiring contracts, the non contenders sell off rentals and take picks/prospects in return.
