  1. And yet Hall came here because of RK who knew him well from their time together in Edmonton Hall is living off his name being a former 1st overall and having one really good season in NJ a couple years ago. He was horrible here and did nothing to help make this a better team. He might be better if he can play a lower role and be a 2nd/3rd liner where he isn't expected to have to carry a team. This is the 4th team to basically give up on him and move on Saying that, he will probably come out to the public now talking about how greatful he is to get to go to a contender like Boston and actually play well, probably get a few hat tricks against Buffalo just because
  2. I question more why are they playing Ullmark tonight with the Caps tomorrow? Unless they don't have faith in him beating the Caps either and figure they might as well give him the easier game, or they figure they will just let Ullmark play out the rest of the year because of how much time hes missed
  3. Do the same so we can watch Sabres games here without Centre ice...... I used to be able to see the arena while driving in Areas of Fort Erie when I worked there, but you can't get MSG here so you need to pa the NHL to get their games. What I don't get about this though, is they are going to relocate the Bisons from their home field so the jays can play there, why not just keep playing from Dunedin then?
  4. Not unless the Sabres are willing to take back some contracts because theres not likely to be a team with enough cap space to pick up a package of players including Hall for just Prospects and picks
  5. So showing some GMs that you have Balls is more important then getting some sort of asset that can be used to help the franchise? If Adams is more interested in winning a pissing contest then improving the team, he should be fired because he isn't doing whats best for the franchise No ones saying he should just take what ever the first offer he gets is or not negotiate for the best deal, but if they shouldn't hold onto Hall past the deadline just to 'send a message'. Something is better then nothing. A third can always be used as part of another deal, or packaged with other picks to move up in the draft or acquire someone else. Theres just as much of a chance that Adam's (and the Sabres front Office) 'image' will suffer by holding onto Hall just as much because they they weren't willing to move a player to give them a chance on a better team because you want to prove something to the other GMs. Players and agents could decide your not a place they want to play for because the GM & front offices image is more important
  6. I think the original comment was about signing hall in the first place. Terry agrees to the Hall signing because of the idea that he is going to produce and elevate the team, he has a year similar to his season in NJ and its money well spent. With Halls production this year, I'm sure Terry is now wishing he could rid himself of the $57,000/day cost however they can.
  7. Yup, never have any left over money in your budget at the end of the year or you won't get as much next year. And never go into contract negotiations without demands because otherwise you will start losing stuff you already have.
  8. I don't think its even comparable, they are talking almost the entire team, coaches and families of the Canucks have been hit. Its BAD right now for them Right now its 16+ in the hardest hit areas in the GTA, everywhere else they just opened it up to 50 or 60+ Next week most areas are going to start vaccinating the teachers and support staff while the schools are on break for the week
  9. So your willing to give him away at the end of a season (when his deal is up) that would take a historic run to get out of the leagues basement rather then get whatever the best offer is someone else is willing to give you? This season is over and they are only playing for pride at this point (if they have any left). That thinking is understandable for someone like Eichel or Reinhart who are good players with term left on their deals, you don't want to just give them away. But someone like Hall, on a one year deal is worth nothing to the team this year after the deadline and getting anything (even a lower pick) is better because it frees space for someone else as a tryout for the rest of the year.
  10. His cap hit would be prorated based on how much of the season is left so it wouldn't be as big of a difference Wouldn't the sabres Cap hit only be based off of what he is still owed on his contract and not the cap hit the Flyers are hit with because theirs would be based off of the total value with bonuses and incentives. I thought if he gets claimed, that team would be hit with only what is owed on his deal and the rest would be 'Dead Cap Space' the Flyers would be responsible for?
  11. Wasn't Krueger the reason why Hall signed here?
  12. That would put him in the middle of the league and he has probably played in less games then most of the other 'starters' in the league. He has never played more then 50% of the teams games in a season. (I believe he has 2 seasons where he played more then 30 and his next closest was 20 games) His save percentage right now is at around his career average which is middle of the pact type numbers. He has 3 Career shutouts He is not a guy that is going to carry a team but is someone that could be a valuable asset to a contender as a backup/1B goalie.
  13. I think they need to keep him on the ice and hope he flips a switch and flashes something, otherwise your trying to move someone who has done next to nothing this year on the top line playing with someone who is supposed to be a top player (Eichel)
  14. I disagree, if he isn't being retained, take what you can get. That 3rd can always be used packaged with something else to sweeten a deal. This team is at a point where nothing they do is going to turn this season around so keeping him does nothing unless you want to punish him. Atleast taking the best offer for someone you have no intentions of retaining this offseason gives you some type of asset
  15. I think its just the Canadians trying to win the 2011 Stanley Cup..... The guy is put on the 2nd line and literally does nothing, he is past his prime and has little left
  16. I think he was refering to the Owners being dumb by not having sponsorships on the uniforms already.....
  17. Unlike the Sabres, they may actually be trying to improve the product on the ice and don't wont to bring in guys we want to replace with their garbage.... I think people are living off the past with him
  18. Don't we say this about everyone? And yet how many players has this front office done that with that they probably should? This front office does appear to see that as an option because they probably don't have infinite amounts of cash/money to just pay out for castoffs to just play in Rochester and they aren't flush with Cap space to just take on other teams cap problems.
  19. maybe, but I doubt the scenery here is going to change anyone
  20. yeah but he got to keep the Spiderman Dance/strut scene.....
  21. I would have figured that would be the name for the Arena then The Bills name would have to come from a company based out of Carolina....... Will the sabres soon be playing at 'Lowmark Arena'
  22. I think there was some talk about a potential Spiderman 4 with Tobey now that they are bringing that series into the Marvel Universe. I guess there was a 4th that was supposed to go ahead but got scrapped at the last minute
  23. I think he is traded on deadline day and it won't be for anything close to what people would want to get for him Although they did get more for Johanson & Staal then I expected they would so maybe the deal will surprise us as they find another Sucker (I mean team) to take him. I'm sure all of the leagues GMs have seen how he raised the Coyotes, Devils and Sabres up to the next level and need that for their playoff run......
  24. Ah yes, the good old days Those days would still be better then whats going on now....... He is, They are all coming back in the next Spiderman movie
  25. Sign him as a backup or the 2nd half of a tandem. He hasn't shown he can be a reliable #1 goalie in this league He has yet to play more then half a seasons worth of games in a year. He has decent stats but nothing that can't be improved upon which is what this franchise needs to do. They need to look at improving the entire team, even if it means moving out some players that might still take time to develop/reach their ceiling. He has been 'middle of the pact' at best in the league which is good for the 2nd half of a tandem or backup goalie, but if they have a chance at someone better, he sholdn't be what holds them back from bringing them in. Goalies (especially todays goalies) are very streaky and can turn very quickly from Franchise goalie to being benched. There are very few goalies out there today that appear like they can be the guy for a team for many years. Its not like years ago when you had goalies like Brodeur, Roy, Belfour, etc. who were the top guys for teams for long stretches of their career. Guys now can look great one year and be gone the next. Carter Hart came in last season and looked like he was the answer for the Flyers in net, then this year he gets benched because his team doesn't trust him enough to start against the Sabres. Robin Lehner looked like he finally reaching his potential in Vegas last year and now they are thanking god that they couldn't get anyone to take Fleury this offseason. If Linus wants big starter money, or a guarantee he will get the majority of the starts, I think you let him test the market If he is willing to sign a short term contract for a decent amount, and is happy being the 2nd half of a tandem, you bring him back.
