  1. I could see the league willing to just cancel all of the rest of the Sabres games this season for them and blame it on Covid to let them keep some dignity but TP saying he wants to play them to try and get some revenue now that they can sell some tickets.
  2. Or it could end up being scored by Crosby when the Pens send him over for the 3rd period to play for the Sabres to try and make the rest of the game fair like they do sometimes in the Kids leagues or rec leagues when the games are uneven.
  3. Do they have any to call up?
  4. A win against the Spread?
  5. Maybe thats what he will be doing. He can have a headset on and other GMs will ask him to put certain players out there in certain situations so they can get a good look at them. Adams - "So your thinking about taking Hall but want to see what he would look like on the PP? Ok Taylor, get out there and show your stuff if you want to go to a contender!" Then of course they get played by the Pens GM who calls in and starts asking to see if Staal and Reinhart can play defence and would make good defence partners while Crosby is on the ice.........
  6. Can it really be any worse? He has as much experience as a HC as he does as a GM, and its not like he can really screw anything up even more.
  7. As I said above, he even said right before it 'i will probably get in trouble for saying this'. It's less shocking to me what the people actually say then it is that they would say anything knowing what ends up happening for doing it.
  8. With Kruegger, I think that he isn't much of an 'X's & O's' coach who is going to be able to coach up a teams talent and teach them. He might be successful on the older stacked Penguins teams when they were winning where the talent was already there and didn't need someone to teach them. He could do what he does best and just be there to motivate them when they need it. Ideally, he would probably be best as an assistant on a staff where he doesnt need to worry about systems and 'X's & O's'
  9. Its tough to say because it does seem like Granato is just a placeholder and they intend to try to find someone else after the season is over. Did he get the job with the front office telling him to just go out and be the guy behind the bench to keep the spot warm for someone else, or was he hired and told that he has the lead position for the job if he can turn things around? Has the front office told the coaches and players that they are throwing in the towel on the rest of the year and are just going to play the year out and start new in the offseason, with everyone being available to be moved if they get the right offer? Either way, Its not going to be a quick turnaround like you see with other teams that get the 'New coach' spark for a few games. For that to have happened, they would have needed to make the change way earlier when things started to look like they were going to get bad and not after many players checked out and other got hurt. I think it was more then just the coach losing the players, I think the front office lost them too when they pretty much sat back and did nothing to try and fix key issues with the team.
  10. Its sad that we are at a point where those would become 'Glory Days' now compared to then when people were so spoiled by having a consistent playoff team that just making it wasn't good enough anymore.......
  11. 2 wrongs make a right? I don't think this should really shock anyone that refs would make calls like this. To be honest, I really wouldn't be shocked at all to find out all sports are just like Pro wrestling with pre-determined outcomes. Its a business and its all about the $$$$$
  12. Would it have made a huge difference? Vanek was good, but I always found him to be just a very good player, but not a game changer or leader. He was one of those players that is great as a supplementary piece to your roster, but not as your top guy....
  13. They don't have to keep or use those picks in the draft. They can use them as part of a deal to move up for someone or as part of a deal to obtain other more established players. If a team is willing to give up 4 1st for a guy who has been good, but not really a game changer/leader who will carry the team it would peak my interest.
  14. Apparently its not that great according to all the talk and broadcasts outside of here, I keep hearing and seeing about how goaltending isn't an issue and they haven't been an issue, its everyone else in front thats the problem I think Ullmark is the best of this bunch, but I don't think he is a huge difference maker for this team and is at best a good 1B as part of a tandem, or a very good backup. But he isn't the guy thats going to go out carrying the team on his back and win them games on his own
  15. Which one? One of them lost his job as part of the radio show for making the comments, the other lost his job working for PSE (which had no tie to the show except for it being the hosts 'Day Job') basically for not saying something.
  16. I know about Bell, they have been ripping apart all the stations around here, letting go of all the established DJs and bringing in younger (cheaper) people to replace them if they aren't just syndicating shows from other areas. All the media outlets are doing it, Rogers this year decided they don't want to have a separate crew to do the Blue Jays radio broadcasts so they will just broadcast the audio from the TV telecast on their radio station.
  17. I think with some aspect they do, but when it comes to social media, PR, and things like that they usually have a few employees to do that, although it may be 'Interns' trying to get into the industry.
  18. Yup, its not surprising He even said right before it "I will probably get in trouble for saying this"
  19. Are you referring to it still being included as part of the podcast of the show on the website? I'm not sure if the shows hosts have anything to do with keeping or removing content from that, its really up to the radio station to decide to put it up on the website or not
  20. He was the guy who would come on the screen during breaks and intermissions and do games and other stuff to entertain the crowds in the arena
  21. He's been doing it for a while now, Maybe they can bring back the guy from the old Kiss 98.5 morning show who did it before him?
  22. That is exactly all that he said It was the co-host Rob who made the comment that was deemed to be fireable. (They were talking about how they like their toast and while Rich was talking about the number setting on his toaster, Rob said he compares it to woman he attracted too. Said he likes it Halle Berry level, but not Serena Williams. Then the female co-host asked about Gayle King and he said thats not on his toaster. There was also a comment about him liking it to have a little bit of melatonin in it). Part of the story about it on Yahoo had the short clip of it. 97 Rock apparently lost Roswell Park as a sponsor soon after it and now Rich lost his job I'm assuming because he didn't immediately stop it
  23. Hasek would atleast give them a chance at getting the 1 point for a 0-0 tie......
  24. How about a Prime Minister then?
  25. Ralph does have more NHL experience. I do wonder if having a coach with alot of college/minor hockey experience might be beneficial to help the younger players since alot of that hockey is developmental which could help over some of the more experienced NHL coaches who are more into systems and prefer veterans over youth Personally I think it would be nice to get an established veteran coach with a track record of success, but those guys aren't usually just sitting around waiting for calls. The ones sitting around are guys that have been let go from their jobs for not being successful. Gallant might be the best choice because he been pretty successful, and was only let go in Vegas after a small slide in play.
