  1. There was a report earlier today saying the Wild were out
  2. I would have made the trade with Carolina that the Red Wings made for Ned
  3. Atleast we can count on beating the Leafs this year............ You would think they would want to come here because they are guaranteed the starting job. Alot of the signings today are for backup roles
  4. Of course they will, they all find some way to do it My comment was sarcasm because everyone gets so worried about the Cap and cap hits and talk about teams being in cap trouble, then they work things out and continue to win because there are teams like the Coyotes that will continue to be the leagues graveyard for bad contracts
  5. when has it happened in the past that a player has wanted out, the team actively try to move them and then just decide that since they didn't like the return, they would just keep them and things worked out with the player staying?
  6. And yet all the top teams don't seem to worry or care about it and easily find ways to get around it
  7. I know, but all I see or hear is how they can't sign certain players or how deals are bad by other teams because of the Cap, and yet the best teams never seem to worry about that and easily get things fixed
  8. Shouldn't they worry about the Cap??????
  9. This team is going to have a ton of Cap room this year, I wouldn't be too worried about a players cap hit right now It might actually help them make sure they stay above the Cap floor.
  10. You don't know how thats going to work out. Theres a big difference too, Rodgers wanted out but the Packers weren't looking to move him and want to keep him, they are also a winning franchise that is a championship contender every year. They didn't start dealing away there other talented players to start another rebuild, they have added to help improve things around him even more. Eichel wants out and the Sabres have been trying to move him, they just dealt away 2 of their other top players and are only looking to be worse next year whether Eichel is here or not, they are a last place team thats not showing any signs of improving around him and aren't showing signs they intend to get him more help to improve this year. They have already locked themselves in a position of having to trade him or have a frustrated player who wants out hanging around the locker room with the guys that the GM has already named as their 'Core' going forward (that didn't include him)
  11. They are Allstars compared to the current crop And a bunch of those were guys that fans here were going on before hand how the Sabres needed to sign those guys and how they would be great signings.......
  12. I always refered to it as 'welfare Christmas' back in the DR days While the rest of the leagues fans are opening up their brand new shiny Bikes and Video Game Systems, Sabres fans are excited for a package of new sox and underwear......
  13. I should send them my contact info! I own goalie equipment too......
  14. Saw an article on TSN proposing a Win/Win blockbuster deal between the Sabres and the Leafs Leafs trade Marner to the Sabres for Dahlin Dahlin is on a rookie deal and has regressed from his rookie deal while Marner is a talent that can help them replace Eichel. Leafs get a defencemen that can turn things around and be cheap for now while also freeing up cap space while helping Buffalo stay above the Cap floor many comments have Leafs fans not liking this deal because they think the Leafs should get more in return for an unproven player (even though he was a 1st overall pick that many were calling a generational prospect IIRC, even though the biggest part of this deal is that the Leafs would get a potential upgrade on defence where they need help, and most importantly, free up cap space at a time when the Cap is not supposed to increase much for a bit
  15. but by that time will there be any teams looking to make deals to free up space? From the sounds of it, the Sabres aren't willing to take on Cap Dumps in an Eichel Deal, why would they afterwards? Its more likely the wells are drying up and TP can't just drill another one, so he won't be throwing what he has around for a while.......
  16. Once she says yes, everything else is fair game, right? He plays sports good so it's cool
  17. And how many times are they giving up something good and not a veteran on a bad contract that they throw in a better prospect or pick? The Sabres dont appear to want to take back money/contracts in a deal. They want future picks/prospects, not salary dumps. This is what is being mentioned as the hold up in many deals that teams are wanting to include contracts back to make the money work now but KA won't take them.
  18. He was charged with 'Obscene photography' (I believe thats what the charge was called) He photographed a girl when they were having sex (consensual) without her knowledge/consent and sent it to players on his team Most Montreal fans were cool with it because it wasn't 'Rape/murder' and 'Boys will be Boys/What kid didn't get in trouble? Hes a good hockey player and nothing should prevent him from being able to play and make money'.
  19. When do teams trade high quality players back as part of midseason/deadline deal type trades? And I thought part of the problem with the offers right now was that teams want to include bad contracts or higher priced contracts back in the deal to make the cap work but KA only wants Picks and high end prospects? If Adams was willing to accept 'real NHLers' back in the deals, It would have probably been done by now instead of during the season where they will have to deal with a disgruntled Jack in the lockerroom around they new young core.
  20. This seems to be looking at the situation through some team filtered glasses, and that Jack just needs to see some glimmer of potential that the team might be kind of improving and he will be back to being in love and wanting to stay to be a part of it. When has that ever happened? He has been here 5 years on the NHL roster, how many times has he seen 'Hope' or potential? He is also in a situation where being at the level he is at as a player, Good/Better teams are going to be willing to bring him in and he will be part of a playoff caliber team right away rather then maybe a few more years down the line if things get better and all goes well. Its not like only the other bottom feeders are looking to bring him in and his options are staying in Buffalo to rebuild or go to another rebuilding team.
  21. I don't know, Drury is a new GM in one of the top markets in sports. He knows he doesn't have to do much to try and lure players to NY to play and he's probably trying to show that he is the right guy for the GM job by getting such a player for nothing. I do agree that its possible Drury and the Rangers aren't 100% in on him but are going to try and get him anyways because what team wouldn't love to get a player like this (they don't come available that often). But like the rest of the GMs in the league, they also know that unless Buffalo wants to deal with a disgruntled and disappointed player in their lockerroom (who happens to be the Captain), they will have to move him so they aren't going to give up their prized assets and are going to be looking for the Sabres to help out by taking some salary back if they want something better in return
  22. And what are teh chances that this team shows some semblance of being a successful team anytime soon? They just dealt his friend Sam away who was one of their best players last year, and one of their top defencemen for nothing that is going to help them any time soon. The GM has already gone public saying they want to rebuild with players who 'Want to be here' (after its come out that you want out) and when the GM named his core moving forward, it didn't include you (or the other 2 that were just dealt). I think the likelihood of a reconciliation is in the single digit percent right now....
  23. You are also assuming the team would put up with that kind of play or attitude for 5 more years so he wouldn't have to take a pay cut. And after this season, when his NTC kicks in, he can also then pick an chose where he ends up by saying he will now only waive it for certain teams.
  24. I can't see a GM in the league doing this, and I don't see other veteran GMs doing this because a first time GM says so. He is low balling because he is hoping that KA is bluffing and he can get a steal, or because he is playing hardball and isn't going to put all his cards on the table right from the start. I bet the other GMs in the league, knowing that Eichel wants out and the Sabres are going to be rebuilding again, are thinking he is delusional in getting what he is asking for considering Jack also had a serious injury too and are waiting to call his bluff.
  25. When has this ever happened before? When was the last time a player has wanted out of a team and the team just said "too bad, we don't like the returns we are being offered and your going to have to play out the remaining years of your long term deal"? At some point, they will need to move him unless he suddenly becomes happy and satisfied here or it will be a problem for the locker room. Teams will still want him because they will believe he will be different on their team if their team is where he wants to be. Do you think the Bruins won't want him because he was unhappy and sulked in Buffalo, knowing he is a local kid who would like to play there?
