    This is where I'm at. Pending ufas are only worth what you can get for them so he's done good in that respect. And like Murray has said publicly if he doesn't move them he's done the Sabres a diservice. He's begun to build this team with the Kane/Bogasian trade. I like what I'm seeing.

    Folks haven't convinced themselves that there is only one proper course of action. I can't remember how many times its been said on sabrespace but it is substantial. There is more than one way to build a team. In fact there are many ways to build a team. There. Its been said again.

    I'll gladly wait for the two marshmellows. And although I support the ' rebuild ' I've never advocated losing on purpose. Losing is inevitable though when you are in a a full on rebuild so if thats the short term pain I'll take it. Remember , I have no control over my favorite teams decisions. That makes it much easier to accept. Why don't we just fire Ted Nolan ? Everythings his fault innit ? :flirt:

    It'll be more of the same. Nothing to see here. Move along. Actually I'm interested to see if Larson is given the same opportunity. Hopefully he grabs the bull by the horns. As always, GO SABRES !

    I agree with you Liger. This board has a losing mentality. The team will improve. I'm not sure the board will. I've been waiting a long time to see a change in attitude where there aren't many passengers on the team. Where guys play for each other and go to the wall for each other and I think despite the losing we are starting to see this happen. There were many 1 goal losses this year or games where it could have gone either way. The corsi would say otherwise but with the right additions that can turn around quickly. Next season its all about winning. We may not make the playoffs but I for one ain't in on the tank for next year.

    He looks to me like countless guys that detroit always seems to come up with that play a good two way game. Hopefully he becomes our version.

    I think I may have missed a grand total of 3 games and I support the rebuild. Hated Darcys team.Watched the majority of those games too. As you all know its an addiction. Want to see this team compete and win in this league so bad. I think I will. Although its not showing yet this team is trending in that direction.

    Great post. The winning will come. In the meantime you build character through perseverance, hard work and a never say die attitude. It'll take a whole lot of team building and guys circling the wagons around the guys in that room to build a brotherhood that will go to war for each other through the good and bad. You see it now with the guys sticking up for each other. The next few years are going to be an exciting time for sure.

    Interesting. Lupuls first shift of the period. So Ted Nolan isn't the only coach who sends messages by scaling back playing time. Who knew ?

    Nolan played effort guys over floaters like Hodgson. O.K. thats just plain mean. Does anyone give credence to the fact that the effort guys that were given the quality minutes were also ufa's at seasons end. Maybe it was an evil plan by GMTM and TN to try and raise their value at deadline time by giving them those minutes ? I know, outlandish and diabolical and in hindsight it never did much in what we received in return but this season was all about the future rather than the present. Next season the coach wether its Nolan or Budd McPherson will play the kids and start developing the future stars.

    I'll answer your last question. Coaches that are put in place where the franchise has one goal which is to come in dead fukcin last. This team wasn't put together to succeed. Why is that so hard to figure out ? We weren't supposed to get better. We were clearly designed to capture the shart. With that in mind what coach could coach this sad sack collection of castoffs to respectability ? I'm not championing Nolan as some sort of saviour. Hell I don't care who coaches this team to respectability. Someone eventually will. But last year and this year wasn't the time for that to happen. So how can you then say fire the coach he hasn't developed any players. He is developing players into players that work for what they get which as he has said and gmtm has said is part of the plan. To use this time to change the culture. I don't care if Budd McPherson coaches this team but for the sake of the future of this team I hope he teaches these kids that hard work rules the day because if everything is given to them we'll be right back to watching a team of players going through the motions. Just my op.
