I think the structure Terry talks about is the power structure. As long as no one from the lower tiers steps on the toes of the people above them everything works. Ego plays a huge role. In reality you only need a POH, GM, Coach for the hockey side to work just fine.

Not sure Pat knew much about running a franchise . He was a hockey guy but I was talking more about running the team but not on the business side. They would obviously have to trust the new hire to do his job.

What would make them both more intelligent would be hiring a hockey person that knows a little something about running an N.H.L. franchise on the hockey side.
