  1. One more positive note: he’s saved 7 of the last 8 shootout attempts faced.
  2. Hey, Eleven, if you’re up anyway, can I PM you about something?
  3. First of all, shake the roster up enough and I know nothing about who Phil staples to who. Second of all, the idea has to be ROR suffered because there was literally nobody else to do the work. Any other line, or indeed any other center meant chaos. And, frankly, there was a fair amount of chaos with ROR on the ice. Why not spread what talent is available around. Place fewer players in impossible positions...?
  4. But what if, and I’m just spitballing here, adding four examples of actual NHL talent to the bottom 6 at the cost of one ROR (we really still don’t know what the team looks like opening night) makes the team better? We can complain that the haul didn’t give us anybody better but... maybe spreading competency further down the lineup does us a favor?
  5. Mainly, i was referring to “the handling of off-ice situations” and how this apparently ruined Antipin and made O’Riley sad. It’s easy to watch the big fish (relatively) swim around a tiny pond (a terrible Buffalo team for years now) and be upset when he’s replaced by several smaller fish. But that just might be what the pond needs.
  6. You are assuming so much about things based upon facts you can not possibly know with this.
  7. Lost in all of today’s other shenanigans: I still think I’m right in predicting Lehner winds up in Sweden or the KHL this coming season... I mean, Cam Ward got a $3 million contract...
  8. You know, I’m old enough to remember the Molginy trade (I realize many of you are much older than that, but go with me). Even the 11:00 news was ready to burn down the Aud. Headlines like “CONN JOB!!!!!” (Because Rob Conn...) were the norm. Then this Peca kid nobody had ever heard of or thought about if they had turned into a player. A damned good one. Pulled from the ashes of an absolute no hope situation. It’s possible, again... could also be a flaming tire fire but none of us knows.
  9. Which is quite troublesome when the current GM’s predecessor was perhaps the most toxic incompetent to ever have held the post. In Buffalo, anyway.
  10. If, because of whatever reason, his continued presence in the room is a negative, well... it’s been pretty clearly demonstrated that with him the team is . Maybe shaking things up and putting a cohesive room together (if indeed that’s the issue) with actual NHL players in pretty much every position isn’t a bad way to go. Of course, it could be an abject disaster, based upon the return. But judging it now, especially as we don’t know what other moves might be made, seems hasty.
  11. While recognizing that this is true, throwing toys out of strollers rarely elicits a positive response.
  12. Was legitimately coming here to post this very thing...
  13. If I may paraphrase Homer Simpson: “There’s three ways to do things: the right way, the wrong way, and the Tim Murray way!” Bart: “Isn’t that the wrong way?” Homer: “Yes, but faster!!!!”
  14. This makes me really interested to see what comes back in the Risto trade I’m now sure is happening because of reasons.
  15. He very much made moves to I prove the team. Nothing blockbuster, though. Still might come with the ROR trade if such a thing happens. The headline-grabbing high dollar signings made with what appears to have been little regard for how this impacts the team going forward though? Nah. I love KO and lament the hand he's been dealt, and was happy to have Moulson back when it happened.. but both are (slightly different) cautionary tales. And, lest we forget, how much better was the team after signing either of them?
  16. I'm just glad, more than anything, that JBOTs has thusfar avoided the GMTM trap of doing something stupid so as to not be seen doing nothing...
  17. Hey, Roloson had a good run after he left Buffalo. Despite having the gall to complain he wasn't played enough in front of Hasek on the way out...
  18. I would pay money to watch a full-field five a side extra time. Having already played 90 minutes. It wouldn’t be good, but it would likely be fun.
