    That team was bad but had a 19 year old Kopitar score 60 points and a 21 year old Brown score 17 goals. Meanwhile 24 year olds Frolov and Cammelari also put up a ton of points. Thats real talent. What we have is lots of speculation and hope. I understand what you're saying here but i don't really think it fits. Our best young talent- Girgensons 6pts in 17 games, Foligno 3pts in 12 games, Hodgson 2pts in 17 games. Larsson has 0g in 34 career NHL games.

    I thought Zadorov was even impressive in the Pittsburgh game. He had extended playing time in the 3rd period and did really well. With Gorges out, i think we'll be seeing much more of Zadorov.

    What makes people think we'll be much better next season? Just because of McDavid? I can't even imagine the abuse he would see. Crosby had Mario in his rookie season.

    Exactly. It's hard to judge Foligno because he plays out of his position. When we're a good team, and you put him on the 4th line, i think we will see a much improved player. Playing him top-6 and putting our hopes for some offense is wrong and why this team is so bad. Guys are out of their roles all across the roster. Foligno is not the problem here IMO.

    I know his name has been floated around by some Stars fans who claim to be insiders on a message board, but i have a real tough time believing we could land someone of his upside in a trade for Tyler Myers. Hope i'm wrong.

    I agree. I was responding to the poster who said he wanted the fresh air of just pure hockey talk, not just constant tank talk. I think if we don't land McDavid or Eichel, many fans will still be hoping for another high pick. It'll split the fan base in two. As far as the team is concerned, i agree, this is it for the tank.

    You lost me at Ehrhoff. When we bought him out, Murray said Ehrhoff having no desire to remain with Buffalo was a huge factor in buying him out.

    Once we get McDavid or Eichel, i am sure everyone will be onboard to winning too. I don't think it'll happen next season but i also don't think we'll see much "tank" talk if we pick top-2 this year.

    When does Hodgson get a seat in the stands i wonder? No points and -3 so far this season and i saw a stat via Matthew Coller that Hodgson was on the ice for four shot attempts vs. Chicago.... and 25 shots against. Yikes.

    No it wouldn't. They could finish dead last and still pick #2. But, Carolina and Buffalo are pretty bad, so even without Kane and Buff, it'd be a 3-team battle.

    I think he's definitely a NHL player. I think it's tough to view some players, such as Foligno who is a all-heart/blood and guts player, on a bad team. I'd like to see what he could do on a good team that plays meaningful games.

    He's the perfect guy though. You need that guy to that the fall. Even the Penguins fired coaches (and GM) during Sidney Crosby's rookie season. There is only so far Nolan can take us. When the team starts to turn the corner, i have no doubts Murray will go out and hire his own guy to take us the remainder of the way.
