I'm actually surprised it took this long. Cassidy has no prior head coaching experience and to have him coach a team that had a bunch of NHL-hopefuls just didn't make much sense to me. He arrived in our organization because he has followed Ron Rolston everywhere. The Amerks actually had a pretty good team and scored a ton of goals. They should have had a better record. He did good work with Armia and Larsson though, and deserves that credit. But it's better to go in a different direction. Props to Murray for making the move.

People said for months Blues will have some tough choices to make this summer because of their salary cap issues, but maybe they'll have even bigger moves then originally thought? Another year and another early exit?? Gotta think Hitchcock is gone and doubt he'll be the only one to take the fall.

I think Edmonton will become really good and soon. McDavid will get all the credit but their other top picks are all pretty good too. Now they can move one of their younger talents and take more risky moves to improving their defense and goaltending. Top end players will want to play there now because McDavid is there along with other high flying forwards. That said, i like Eichel and think he's a great fit here and if we ever meet McDavid in a meaningful game, it'll be in the finals.

When they brought back Rolston as head coach, i was furious. Wasnt a fan of his at all. At that point, i had hoped we'd struggle, pick a good forward and then continue to suck and have a chance at McEichel. It's been a hell of a run.

We're now trying to guess and downgrade him based on a speculation of his GPA? I wonder what kind of things people will find to say about McDavid if we win the lottery? If Eichel's GPA was low, means he doesnt care one bit. Then how come he'll only play for USA in the World Championships if BU allows him to take the finals overseas? Doesnt add up to me.

One name that will surely be a lock for consideration is Luke Richardson. Hes currently the Sens AHL coach and is very close with Tim Murray.

That photo is great. You can see all the Sabres fans happy the Coyotes scored, but also the anti-tankers, like the dude in the top row. Then there's a kid wearing a Edmonton Oilers jersey... i dont know what thats all about. lol

It's amazing watching these games. The Sabres have been big underdogs in Las Vegas in every single game. They've been badly outplayed in almost every game they've played and still, they are in games against good teams on a nightly basis. Hockey is a extremely lucky and random sport. People should really take note for when the Sabres are good again and get beaten by a bad team on a Friday night and we start to freak out. lol

It took him 33 NHL games to score his first goal. While obviously playing with less talent, he was also playing against weaker talent too. Even Ted Nolan admitted several times this season that Larsson has failed to "earn" more ice-time. In the stretch you're talking about, he has 1 goal in his last 10 games. Which was against Chicago, which by the way Larsson was on the ice for BOTH of the Toews goals late in the game. Larsson has shown to be a pretty decent puck possesson player, a very effective faceoff guy and shown flashes that when given the oppertunity, he can score, but he has limitations. That's what is pointing him being a heck of a 4th line centerman with potential of playing on the 3rd.
