  1. Now we know why Sam is a top pick his hockey IQ and defensive awareness is off the charts. Still needs to work on getting stronger and his skating to be a dominant force at the NHL level.
  2. I'm all for keeping Enroth until our other goalies are ready to make the jump. Have one goalie battle it out to make the big club. As far as our other UFA's I'm guessing he keeps one of them and I'm talking Stewart or Stafford. Mez has to go. Just get whatever for him. It should be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. I'm hoping now that Jordan Staal is back that they make alittle climb. I still would like to finish in the bottom two especially since I doubt Edmonton is going to overtake us in points.
  3. Your kidding right? They need to be move to get something back rather than lose a player for nothing. If he won't re-sign then you move that player.
  4. I don't think moving Ennis is smart. If we had a real first line and he was on the second line playing against teams 2nd and 3rd liners I think he would be much better. Ennis is a very good player.
  5. Feel sorry for guys like Hall and Eberle. I would want out if I'm either one of those guys. That team is a revolving door. Problem is the door is all the good players going and replaced with players not as good. And then they wonder why they haven't made the playoffs since who knows when. You guys do realize Perron is a pretty darn good player on a super ###### team with no direction. Yeah they got a first rounder that will be in the 22-30 range. But it's Edmonton drafting so they don't have a great track record outside their top picks. So u wait 3-5 years for development of that pick if he even pans out.
  6. If we take Hanifin then we need to move a defenseman for a scorer because that's what this team lacks. Top flight scoring
  7. I just want either McDavid or Eichel. I don't want Buffalo with the 4th or 5th pick this year. Hopefully Carolina can start alittle winning streak now that Jordan Staal is back. don't care what people think about that Pens trade but they won that deal hands down. This is the reason why EDM has been rebuilding forever. They have no clue on what their doing. Perron will be real good on the Pens and that first probably won't amount to much for at least 3-5 years.
  8. I think Roy going to Edmonton made Perron expendable. Perron is a very good offensive player. Yeah he might be -17 but Edmonton has tons of players in the minus. Smart move by Pittsburgh you get a damn good offensive player for a high first rounder. Again These are reasons why Edmonton is on this current streak of not making the playoffs. You don't get rid of solid talent for a player who might not play in the NHL and what I mean is that late first rounder. This is my opinion but you don't trade good players just because they have value you want to build around them. Edmonton won that trade when they traded for Perron but get some players around him. All the talk about them moving Hall and Eberle. You don't move either one of those guys and you build around them. If your moving a player Yak is a player who is young but seems like a bust to me. He should be the player moved for another piece.
  9. I just hope Edmonton loses the draft lottery ###### that team. Problem with Edmonton is other than guys selected in the first round their picks don't pan out and then they wonder why they are at the last of the league for all these years. No matter who Edmonton gets ain't many players wanna stick there long term. Very true
  10. Oilers trade Perron to Pens for first rounder in 2015. That should cement Edmonton at last overall.
  11. This draft seems like Murray needs some wingers with some natural ability to put the puck in the net. I'm talking after our first pick.
  12. I don't know if Murray keeps either one of Stewart or Stafford. Both don't earn what they pay both of them and neither bring it every night.
  13. I think we made out just fine. Nic seems like he is getting better and works his @ss off and Fasching seems like he is going to be a solid player who is tough on the forecheck and goes hard to the front of the net. Compher looks like that same type of player but in a much smaller package. Always moving and gets in your face. I'm just wondering if Murray moves any of our unrestricted players soon for any of these players in this tourney. I wasn't able to watch this usa game today but I seen Eichel's goal and that was sweet. I can't wait to see usa-Canada this week. I want to see the Eichel-McDavid matchup and I want to see the US silence the candian fans.
  14. I'm wondering since Murray didn't draft him plus he at the end of his rookie contract this year if Grigs gets moved. Reason why I say is I don't know if he can be one of the top guys to build around on this team.
  15. So if your the GM do u move a top defenseman in Myers for another prospect and non-roster player?
  16. If Larkin is that player Murray want Larkin + for Myers would be ideal. It should be interesting to see what Murray has planned. This is just me I want players who can skate, have speed and are constantly around the puck. I'm not sure if Grigs is going to be one of those players.
  17. So what's the chance that Myers for Larkin + gets it done? Do u think Buffalo keeps Myers or unloads him?
  18. Reinhart isnt flashy but quietly puts up points. Yes we know he needs to put on more muscle. So if Buffalo finishes with the third pick do u pick up that defenseman from the USA and trade Myers for some offense? It should be interesting to see how Canada plays against Eichel because right now he looks pretty darn good.
  19. That 2006 team was I believe the best until all those injuries started to mount. What did they have left 1 top 4 defenseman when it was all said and done and Connelly was a machine until he was blasted. Sad because that was the team to beat.
  20. Flynn isn't as bad as people make him out to be. I don't know how long he will be around because we have a lot of players coming.
  21. The Sabres got some tough games coming and at least Carolina is gaining. I just think it might be a three way battle between us, Arizona and Edmonton. Arizona has no weapons up front at all besides Boedker. Only thing keeping them in games is solid coaching, hard work.
  22. I also agree with others here is that GM Murray shouldn't be bothered if we don't land 1 or 2 though. He and his scouting staff should be finding NHL talent all thru the draft. Just say this they need to make sure they hit more on these picks than miss. Me personally would like to land McDavid or Eichel who are surefire studs for years to come rather than worry about a player they pick at 5-10 who has a better chance of not being a player that can change the game. People can say what they want about players but as long as their is big money involved any GM can get players as long as the owner wants to throw money around but it's up to great GM's to build thru the draft, make sure these players are developing correctly and making moves thru trades and free agency to put them on a whole nother level.
  23. I agree. Like I said before mediocre talent can only take u so far. A lot of these players are playing in spots where they wouldn't be on real playoff contending teams. My big question is Enroth looks to be winning over the coaches with his play of late. I want to know the long term fix for these goaltenders. We have a bunch coming and then you still have what to do with Stafford, Stewart and a couple of other players. I agree we can't just get rid of all these players for non-roster players. At some point u need to stop grabbing picks and get actual players. Problem I see is u won't get much for any of them.
  24. These players know how to win problem is mediocre players can only take u so far. Most players on this current club are playing in spots they shouldn't. Foligno is a fourth liner. Our 1st line is more like top teams second lines.
  25. The Cup people that's what this tank was all about and right now I would much rather have a superstar at 1 or 2 to lead the charge for the ultimate goal. Let's face it a player like McDavid or Eichel would help this rebuild big time. Their work on and off the ice speaks volumes and will rub off on the current bunch of players and prospects we currently have. I have seen to many also ran teams with Buffalo and want a top team for years to come. I don't think ownership and the hockey department signed off on this tank if it wasn't for this draft and last years. Let's face it yeah they are winning games but too many issues with this current club to make this kinda climb to get back in the playoff race. I'm a diehard fan like everyone here or we wouldn't be posting but I want to see a franchise superstar lead this team. The pieces are falling into place it just the big gun we need now instead of a climb to a 5-10th pick.
