I would like to listen to the scout that mentioned Zadorov during that episode of Blue and Gold. He seemed like he seen him enough to know this guy was going to be good. I think if teams knew he was that good he would have been drafted sooner. I'm thinking Zadorov has more upside than Risto. I want scouts that can see beyond what a player is at that time. Devine seemed set on Risto.

Like you said. I wouldn't read too much into what Murray says about players and the draft. No one is going to tip their hands on players before the draft. I wouldn't even look in to what he said about the goaltending like someone else mentioned.

First off I'm more than thrilled to have Nolan as coach full time. You can tell he's a players coach and he will get the most out of these players just like he did the first time he coached Buffalo. I think Girgenson's is a future captain but not yet and not next year. Give him another season or two. I hate to say this but Stafford has been a ton better since Nolan was hired as coach. Captain material I don't know but him paired with Ennis have been the two best Buffalo forwards.

That is exactly why Snow isn't going to give us their top 5 pick. No GM is gonna let us pick when he has a full year to better his club that way he can at least work on making sure they get better. I just think he will do whatever he can to make sure the pick he gives us isn't a top 5 in either draft.

I don't want to sound like a jerk with this but I would be shocked and I mean shocked if the Islanders let us use a top 5 pick. They are gonna use that pick and will most likely be alittle bit better than they are right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a move for some players in the offseason and most likely we will be using their pick next year which I think will fall from 8-14.

I would love to have the Islanders let us use their pick this year I just don't see it happening though. I would love 2 picks in the top 5. I just think they will make a move or two to better the team plus they have a lot of young guys coming. I just think they land in the 8-14 range next year.

Edmonton is bad but I highly doubt we win 4-5 games. Keep the tank rolling!

Then why did they trade for Vanek. Offense to play with Tavares. They can always get help defensively and goaltending during UFA. Just my opinion. But I hope they don't win the lottery. Looks like they are going to finish anywhere from 3-5. A top 5 pick even in a bad draft year is very hard to come by unless you are the Edmonton Oilers.

With the Lose of Vanek and Moulson I would be thinking offense!

Another solid defenseman. I'm not saying I want him as I would like to see offensive players taken in this year draft if we use ours and the Islanders in the 1st. But I wouldn't be super pissed if Murray drafted Ekblad though. Who really knows what Murray is going to do. If he has an eye for talent then he might be able to work magic outside of the top ten. Plus with all those picks he has plenty of ammo to move up.

You could still have a first line even if they draft ekblad this year as long as the Islanders give us their pick this year. Plus he's got a ton of picks in order to fill in the first line. You figure if we are just as bad next year he could draft another forward plus with all these picks he could move up with whoever he's been eyeing.

I know we have 2 blue chippers on defense but no-one really knows what Tim Murray has on his mind for this team. He has a ton of picks and a ton of cap space. That would suck if the Islanders won the lottery which is a possiblity. I hope no but you never know

Who would you like to see the Sabres draft and what do you see the Islanders doing with their pick? We would have serious problems scoring goals but we would have a killer defense. They say you build from the goal out.

I agree. I would have no problems taking Ekblad if we have the Islanders pick. One stud defenseman with a solid offensive player. I would be more than happy with.

Very well said, with that in mind what do you think the Islanders do? If your Garth Snow and already took alot of heat for the trading of the pick do you risk just giving a team a top 5 pick this year to be in the McDavid sweepstakes. Who really knows if the Islanders will be that bad. I think with all the unrestricted goaltenders around and a possible free agent signing of a defenseman or offensive player they will be sitting worst in the 8-15 spot.

I'm thinking he meant they are not dynamic as Kane and Toews. Both are superstar players! Toews does it all and Kane to me is the best stick handler in the NHL. Might not be the biggest player but you sure don't see many players getting good hits on him. I think Reinhart,Bennett, and Dal Colle could all get there but they are not on the scale of Toews and Kane right now!

Sad thing is we need these clowns around for one more year of the tank!

I would be happy with Reinhart/Bennett and Dal Colle or whoever else Murray thinks in the top 10. I just think if the Islanders pick this year we don't see a high pick like that next year.

I would still much rather pick this year with the Islanders pick. I think they will be better next year at least better than what they are now.
